It is not really that silent imo. The addicts I know of have one thing in common. They all seek to borrow money from anybody. It doesn’t matter whether they really know the person or not. It they have your number in their phone, sooner or later you will receive a call or a whatsapp message from these people and they always have an emergency going on which they need money for but in reality they need money to keep gambling.

These people can’t stay silent. Because when they run out of money, the only way there is left for them to keep playing is to borrow money. When they run out of all options, that’s where it gets really dangerous.

They can't be silent if its killing them. Gambling addicts who have no money to supplement their addiction will burst out so as much as possible, they will take all means to make money and satisfy their urge in gambling.

Gambling addiction maybe a silent killer on its own but the addict himself is highly aware of that. The thing is, they won't admit to others that they are dying to fight gambling addiction even if its killing them inside.

Yes, it would be evident specially if that urge is something that cant be controlled already on which these addicts will definitely be doing something stupid or someone that dont normally do on which this might involved stealing or swindling or whatever we do call from it as long they are able to get up some funds for them to play then this would be definitely be their main goal just to play gambling. Thats why its important that on the moment or time that you do gamble then make it sure that your emotions wont be that totally be stirred up and go along with your mentality that you can make yourself rich because of gambling on which we know that this cant be just that so easy. Yes, its possible when hitting up jackpots but it doesnt mean that you would be easily be able to do it and thats what make you that desperate on trying out to hit or achieve on.

actually gambling addiction is really a silent killer. according to research 1.2% to 1.4% of the world population are gambling addict and most of them started it just like the normal day to day gambling till it became worst. i have witnessed many people who have suffered severely due to gambling addiction, they are often moody and silent and often find it hard to smile, play or communicate freely. they take things too serious because of the depression of their loses. what most of them need is someone to talk to, who will counsel or advice them. but however not all will even take the advice seriously because they believe they will win big one day, despite the amount of loses they had. they are not just bordered.

Well, addiction in anything is a silent killer but the thing is that some kills faster than some, like for example, addiction to hard drugs kills faster than addiction to gambling, and also, addiction to hard drugs have visible symptoms which if the victim do not stop and seek for help on time, he or she may be dead not long from then.

But on the other hand though, addiction to gambling (though very dangerous) does not kill rampantly like addiction to drugs, there are those who are addicted to gambling and still live their normal life until they decide to seek help and possibly become free from the addiction.
So, I would say that addiction to gambling being a silent killer is true but it depends on who the victim is and how they are able to treat and manage the situation.

One thing about addiction is that you the person involved will need to accept to the fact that you yourself is addicted and be willing to open for help because if there is no determination for changes. Because I have seen so many cases of addicts actually getting professional help and still ending up been addicted to the particular thing they are addicted to because this addiction can be related to drugs or games.

Outside help doesn't guarantee recovery from addiction. It's all about the person themselves. Addiction is a silent killer no doubt and it has been proven beyond reasonable doubt yet people's keep on repeating history instead of learning from previous experience. However some addicted gambler may look very strong and healthy but deep down they are shattered, they are depressed and frustrated, perhaps they got sink down by pride instead of crying out for help.

Recently a young 300 hundred level under graduate university student committed suicide just because he lost wovely in gambling and I also learnt that the money wasn't his that it was money release from house rentage and he was only playing a role of a care taker and decide to take the risk that later caused him his life. As i always say gambling shouldn't be seen as a method of earning quick money. Which this kind of mindset people become addicted to gambling later become emotional stess and that lead to  serious financial problem. When people gamble beyond their limit the pressure and disappointment can become overwhelming which may bring depression and other harmful outcome. That's why responsible gambling is important. Knowing when to stop and gambling strictly and playing gamble for entertainment is crucial. Accepting loses and stoping when your limit breaks is also a sign of a good gambler.

Hahahahahaha )))  Thanks for the comment — it’s 100% true, because I’ve personally witnessed many calls from barely known people asking to borrow money. One player I know owed money to all his friends, neighbors, and relatives, but still kept asking them for more, inventing a new “emergency” every time.

Those kinds of requests make me smile, not feel sorry. Gambling can become your silent killer if you play for big money. But if you play for small stakes, gambling is just entertainment.
