I agree that drug abuse is dangerous, but I think we should also understand why people turn to drugs in the first place. Blaming them isn't the solution. These individuals need help and support, not judgment. I believe prevention and rehabilitation programs are much more important than just limiting access.

Oaky it will be very understandable if you can tell us why people switch to drug while there are so many things they can do with there time. Whether you lost someone very close to you or you lost your source of survival, that should not be a reason to turn to drug at all. I know some people would say is because of bad accompany but that is not enough.

Drugs are far more dangerous than gambling because they destroy your life even when you want to make a change and get back to being normal you can't because your body doesn't respond to you normally and that is the effect of drugs. Very structured professional help is needed for you to even have a chance to recover from drugs and this requires massive effort from you and your family while in gambling it is somewhat easier compared to drugs. I say easier because gambling does not impact you that badly in a short amount of time and even in a longer time span still does not impact you that badly. In gambling you only need self determination to change and your body can respond to you, maybe not instantly but after sometime that you want it your body will respond in a better way to change, with drugs this does not happen, so they are far more dangerous than gambling.

It's definitely both deadly to the person if they aren't controlled correctly. With whatever happens, too much of something wouldn't help anyone. It's something that should be realized by the person being affected by it.

Imagine the people who get addicted. They want those dopamine hits, the reward, from playing over and over again and it's from the design / UI of the game and with playing, they can feel that. If you check the brain activity of someone with drug addiction and gambling addict, it's pretty similar.

This study by Garcia-Castro et. al. ^[1] that the brain imaging obtained from pathological gambling and substance abuse disorders have similar activities happening in the brain. It's related in that sense.

Both can destroy faster but it depends on how it's done by the individual. However, if you gamble responsibly, you wouldn't be prone to gambling addiction. Ordinarily, these things can not harm someone unless it is been given the room to harm someone. There are people today who are gambling and also people who takes drugs but yet they are doing pretty well reason because they know how to handle and control themselves and that is why I said we are the ones that give it room to get into us. Being addicted to one alone sometimes is of great danger; then imagine someone who is affected by both drugs and gambling.
