I mostly bet on NBA games and sometimes other basketball leagues, and I’ve tried different strategies before, totals, underdogs, even some parlays, but honestly the easiest and most enjoyable one for me is betting on teams I actually like and watch.

The problem is, straight moneyline on favorites usually gives terrible odds, so to at least get a decent return, I end up taking the point spread instead. not aiming for 100% ROI or anything crazy, just something reasonable while still enjoying the games. (1.80 to 1.90 odds).

Dude, that does not work!
Betting on your favorite + spread wont create any advantage for you because the market will always be adjusting the handicap precisely to achieve the result that the favorite team is the one that should win.
To follow this line of thought, I think you should evaluate which site gives you an advantage in injuries, match rhythm, and other things like that.

I do not know, but if you are just playing for fun, then keep it up, unless you regret losing in the long run. But if you want a little more excitement, then I think you need to combine your favorite team with some other more technical data about your favorite team and research that before betting.

The sports betting strategy of going for favorites is a good concept because you're going for the game you totally understand and are also aware of the team's present condition. So, it is easy to win because you're fully aware of the most important aspect of the team, but the level Roi involve shouldnt be an issue since you're not losing money, and if you want to win more, you can increase the amount you want to risk on the game.
This is what I personally always do.
On the contrary, I do think it might not be somehow healthy to bet on your favorite team just because you believe they are much better and have a better chance of winning. For short term, it might be beneficial, but for long term sticking to this strategy, it might prove detrimental to your finances and winning potential.
You have a pointt and i was not talking about using the strategy for the long term. What I was saying is that we shouldn't be too emotional with the game to the extent of overlooking the reality when it comes to sports betting.
Yes, we're talking about the favorite club, but we shouldn't lie to ourselves in the moment we know they didn't have the chance of winning because it's our favorite, which we  understand their weakness, and we fully understand when they are struggling.

The best thing in betting is being upfront in the evaluation of the possibilities of a team. You are correct about being rational instead of blindly fanatical since statistics on the field does not count the extent of our love of a club. Tracing moral support and objective numerical calculations differentiates us into the reality of even those that are harsh, and then it makes our choices to be rational.

I believe that betting offers a probable return, which is why some bets yield less money than others due to their lower probability of success. However, it's best to conduct a data-driven analysis and not be guided by how much money you might make, but rather aim for the most probable outcome in your chosen bet. This way, in the long run, you'll have a greater chance of winning over time, even if the total winnings seem low compared to your current expectations.

For those who do the same thing as me, betting on favorites with the spread, how has it worked out for you so far?
Do you think it’s sustainable, or does it just feel good until variance catches up?
I think a favorable odd for your favorite team with point spread is just normal as long as they are the heavy favorite to win that mat but if it's risky spread I'd rather wait for live betting wait if they are really doing well. Live bets tells you on whatever the outcome will be at least you'll take a look on their performance.
