The quote demonstrates that the speaker believes that having several versions of yourself can undermine trust, both in your personal life and in society. I'm just looking out to say the online life powered by the internet should never be trust to believe anyone is living his or her reality therein.
Trusted a third party is very unpredictable.
In the reality life people fails, governments disappointed. Is there anyone who still believe they'll do better and people will stop to even dishonest life? Of course because the world had been corrupted that privacies is something of the people's interest but yet can't get it due to regulatory policies.

I think we should even prepare for the worse because internet or online life has become a safe place for the people to attain that privacy. Infact online life seem no different other than the limited privacy and self custodian rights it provides those living in the digital world.
We can also agree there're offline scammers and the theft so don't expect them to let you know their reality identity before you can figure their ways online.
Online is required to be verified before making decisions because there're you could also lost unrecoverable.
So the internet will ever remain a war place coupled with the advancements of AI.

My view is that, online world isn't a place for total beliefs because people do hide their identity just those real life disappointments and scams, the only thing the internet do is to make it mu'h easier and simple.

The only thing I have to say or tell people is that they should verify things, treat with caution, don't forget to protect your own self and avoid those online scammers by not trusting those online fully. Well, it is not OK to have your real names on full public display and accessible to anyone. The right method would be to allow people have access to your pseudonym, part of your real name or your full real names. You can restrict how people discover the names in this manner: Close friends & family can access your full names, Friends - real name  while Strangers access your pseudonyms. Those people are completely hidding their real identities by melting themselves into a collective way of behaving, contradicting themselves all the time in order to defend a superior leader through blind idolatry. Facts, reality don't matter for them anymore, rather it's the current narrative which must prevail.

You don't know who those people are for real on their individuality, because all you see is a large mass of people, almost like clones of each other. And why do they act like that? Why did they give up on critical thinking and self-awareness?

I guess it's a form of escapism. The fabricated lifestyle displayed on social media is the reason for misconduct in some individual, some compare themselves to the social media fabricated lifestyle of others without bothering to know if truly that is who the person truly is in reality.  Its difficult knowing the true colour of someone especially those addicted to online activities that we find it difficult meeting, they cover there dark part and expose the once they want us to know making us believe everything about them without knowing there are hidden qualities we can't see until the time comes. There is no privacy online bro unless you access the internet with privacy enhanced tools like VPNs, Tor amongst others and never disclose personal data or any trace of your real self online. Even if you use fake names and data but share your location mistakenly for a second, your privacy has been compromised.

We need take everything we see on social medias with a pinch of salt, almost 99% of what we see online are fake versions of the real people behind those accounts, so we should never trust but verify properly before engaging in any dealings with people we meet online nor allow them to know anything about us.

when an individuals presents them selves online in a certain way it is not a true reflection of their reality. you can not really trust people online as it is just unpredictable.
privacy online is also going to be a bit of a concern although it can be limited by certain regulations. always be sure when making online decisions as majority are irreversible. AI advancements nowadays will always increase the online risk but just build on reputation and never just truly trust online scammers have are are always going to be around.

Full name alone is enough to trace someone down to where they are living. If we want to hide our identity then changing the current identity is the best option. Changing the full name, date of birth, all the personal details in our ID. How much privacy does a person want? I have seen some guys who send their woman into the grocery store to get groceries because they don't even want to be seen by the people in the store.

I personally believe that honesty is still relevant along with its somewhat less visible facet. A reputation founded on truth is long lasting as compared to a reputation founded on appearance. Faking knowledge can be risky, particularly where other people have based their confidence on the misleading power.
Innocent ignorance is the safest attitude. Believe nothing, but do not get too cynical as well. Cheque what you know, be humble about what you do not know and concentrate on being yourself. Character gives you much protection in the long run than any prescribed online picture would.
