Are you cautious about cleaning or your score?

Yeah I didn't put much detail in the title just to make sure people do read it before replying because a lot of persons are fond of replying based of the title only and not the actual content. Nevertheless the point of this topic is different. For those that have bulk load of reports, what exactly is your routine? Now to explain what I do mean by routine let me first quote the message on the report button:

Do not worry about your accuracy too much; one accurate report is worth many inaccurate reports.

Now the question based off this is are you reporting to keep a clean score or you report any post you find not up to standard, AI and many others? I'm saying this because if you are reporting based on the a good score then reports you are not so sure of you'll end up not publishing which in my opinion is not fine for really cleaning the forum.

I do exactly what the quote says me to do. I don't worry about accuracy and report the posts which I think needs to be removed for whatever reason. (spam, ai, plagiarism, consecutive posts etc)

You can have 50% accuracy but if you made 1000 reports and 500 of them were successful, you helped the forum more than a forum user who made 100 reports with 100% accuracy.

That's the whole point of that warning. As long as you are not spamming the report button without a valid reason, you can report any post you think that needs to be removed.

I do not care about any post, I report anything I see as spam or what are not necessary to be on this forum. I do not mind if the report is marked as bad. But one really pissed me off last year when I reported HomoHerectus loan spam topic but it was marked bad. I did not mind it but I created a topic about it, the spam topic was deleted but the guy kept on spamming with loan requests. I did reported two more times but moderators kept marking it as bad for me. I stopped reporting it, but later the moderator started deleting his topics.

Well for me guys will likely report based on what they think that it's not a good post especially those post that are obviously spam but with a little consciousness that they should make the report more accurate than just reporting.

What I'm saying in essence is that when reporting now people might do it to count a good score in terms of making it more accurate or being conscious enough for it's accuracy but then making it more often for the score count.

That's the whole point of that warning. As long as you are not spamming the report button without a valid reason, you can report any post you think that needs to be removed.

Yeah my  point exactly it's easy for people to say this lol because in the end a 100% accuracy only buttresses the idea that you are obviously reporting only what everyone will see too as spam or low quality and in that case can we say invariably that a good reporter can't have a hundred percent accurate report?

A good reporter that is not reporting often may have 100% accuracy. A good reporter that reports often can not have 100% accuracy or the chance of having it is very low. The accuracy is not what that should be considered.

Moderators may not accept what you reported and they may see no reason to do anything with the post and leave your report as unhandled. It just mean you have a point but let us just leave the post as it is.

I am not sure what you are trying to find out... We can say that. Or we can't. The real point is, why would it matter to you or anybody? Good reporter? The quote already defines what a good reporter is. Good reports are more valuable than bad reports.

Nope the main account obviously is. Point is the main account has more reports and his accuracy is not 100% this suggests that he's not letting any posts bad for the forum slide by regardless of if the moderator marks it as bad good or in fact leaves it unhandled. Point is accuracy doesn't really matter very much.

The reason for the thread though simply is about letting members not let spam slide just because they are not sure if moderators will mark it as bad or leave it unhandled... I hope you do get the Idea now..?

Oh it's been ages since I reported the post last time. As for which ones I used to report and which ones I would report nowadays if I were to, it would be any that I feel it shouldn't be there without worrying about accuracy.

Well, I'm not even gonna lie, there was a period I was actively reporting but I stopped reporting the moment one of my reports were marked as bad. Its like a psychological effect, most users are more interested in seeing that they have a clean report history. After that period, I saw another post I felt I was supposed to report but I didn't because I felt I might end up reducing my accuracy score but I think I now realise I was not supposed to stop reporting because that one post I failed to report may have led to a possible scam, misinformation or whatsoever, I regret my action.

But I have a suggestion, how about if the percentage accuracy is removed and just replaced with either handled or unconfirmed? So that users don't get discouraged when their reports are not considered by a mod or if a mod can add a brief note why he/she feels your judgement is false, it will help users understand the context why their report was marked inaccurate.

We have so many users that have the ability to report bad posts that I only report them when I come across them. I don't go actively looking for posts to report. Whether marked good or bad doesn't matter to me. I just help out when I see something though.

Still, I am not aware of any extra benefits or badges for reporters, so what would be beneficial about reporting a post for increasing the score? I don't think admins are even counting how many users are reporting. So definitely I report a post when found irrelevant according to me. And my accuracy is 99%. It's true I had reported a lot of posts at one time when I had free time but tried to report only irrelevant posts to clean the forum. Now having less free time means reporting less. But still reporting irrelevant posts when I notice.

I think good reporters have a chance to become staffers/mods in the forum. I am pretty sure I have read something like that before but I can’t find the source right now. It is probably one of those unofficial forum stuff. Theymos probably checks this stat as well when he needs to pick a new mod.

I don't go looking for bad posts or ones that needs reporting
I usually report based on one's I'm sure of not just gut feeling.
I personally don't see why one has to be fixated on the percentage
Because having 100% is way easier than having a thousand good report.

I believe the best approach is to report the posts that can negatively impact the forum rather than reporting any post. Some people do report most posts while that's a good approach but it's better to report those posts first that can negatively impact the forum, posts like spam, AI generated posts, and plagiarized posts should be reported as soon as possible, and then those posts should be reported where a user bumps a very old thread where bumps make no sense at all.

Sometimes I feel daring and report something that I'm not fully confident will be handled as "Good." I don't really like building up Unhandleds but whatever. I won't take a risk if I think the report might be marked as Bad though, lol. Suppose the system is working as intended.

A lot of the time I'm pleasantly surprised when posts I report as "spam" or "low value" are deleted as such, it gives me hope that there is exists some actual bar of post quality, albeit a readily undefinable one.

Your reporting score (accuracy rate) does not affect your account so let's keep reporting any post you see like not allowed by forum rules. Remember one thing that according to forum rules, moderators are freely to do their own interpretations so that if they disagree with your reports, it's not severe issue at all.

If you disagree with report result, you can open a thread in Meta board for clarification as many forum members already did it many times.

The essence of why you report a post is to keep the forum standard...They're some post that doesn't meet the forum standards and you shouldn't hesitate to report the post
  
People found it difficult to detect Al posts, And many people dont welcome the idea of post made with Al, when you found out that such posts is not what forum needed, then, you report...You can report 5 posts... And out of the five posts....2 or 3 posts you reported maybe on accuracy...

it's full of AI posts and people use it many times to write their post.
I don't think they must receive complaints but in general these are low level quality posts, at the end I will just ignore them and after awhile these will never be reported to mods.
Different with spam, fake airdrops , messages in other languages.
If we don't take care of this, we are the first people that will never use the forum again or at least it changes the perception.
Not anymore a place for getting info but just a place full of spam.

The facts are obvious: no one can use the report feature to add value to their profile, can they? That's between them and the moderators. It's not public, and I don't think it's beneficial. I believe those using it are doing so to report someone or a post, though it may or may not make sense.

Doing it too frequently, senselessly, or as some form of attack is definitely wrong.
