What is currently the best place to buy XMR using BTC, preferably without heavy KYC?

I’m starting to look more seriously at buying Monero and increasing my exposure. I’m less interested in short-term price action and more focused on doing it the right way.

Most exchanges that still support Monero require full KYC, which feels contradictory when buying a privacy coin. If your identity is tied to the purchase from the start, it kind of defeats the purpose of using Monero at all, even if the chain itself is private.

There are wallets with integrated atomic swap feature like Eigen wallet, this is open source software, without KYC and it's decentralized.
There are other options available that could provide better rates, like Splash exchange, or try OrangeFren to find more exchanges.

That is not completely true, most centralized exchanges already delisted monero, and onyl few of them can still be used without kyc.

I think CCE cash and Trevoid are the best options in my experience. I have made deals with both of them.

Both accept low values, so you can use them even for a few bucks.

Speaking of the site, OP should go beyond privacy ratings and trust scores. A higher rate doesn't necessarily equate to being a better service.

Eigenwallet, for example, has a perfect 10 or 100% in terms of privacy. But a user was asked for KYC when buying XMR. Whether it was bought with BTC or fiat doesn't matter; a service claiming to be fully non-KYC but asks for KYC is at the very least dishonest. Moreover, the service has 92% trust score but reviews of actual users are saying otherwise.

Compare this with Trêvoid's that only has an 8 or 94% rating in terms of privacy but has never asked for KYC. Moreover, Trêvoid's service only has 64% trust score, quite low indeed, but it's got a perfect score among actual users. I'm not saying the service is risk-free, though.

Yeah, not verified but approved, which means the service is tested and investigated in depth. The warning about possible scams won't show up when you limit your search to verified and approved services. A verified badge isn't a guarantee that it's reliable, anyway. It's reliable until it isn't. It doesn't ask for KYC until it does. The site would just make the necessary updates if there's a need to.

I hope they're verifying the claim and make the appropriate adjustments if found to be true. The specific review claiming to have been required KYC was made more than a month ago. But overall, despite having high ratings on both privacy and trust, it has low user rating. It might be wise to give weight to what actual users have to say.
