As you all know, there are so many challenges faced by miners or prospective miners in Nigeria but the major challenge lies in supply of electricity. Electricity is not stable in Nigeria but there are areas with approximately 20-22 hours power supply per day making these areas more suitable for mining activities. In this thread I will be listing out these areas. Some of these areas are free of electricity tariff while some are not. I will also list these areas according to state, so that interested users can work according to areas close to them.

How I got the Data
Some of the locations listed are generally locations I have visited of recent, while others were enquiries I made from my friends who live in those areas or state. Do you know any other area with reliable electricity for mining? Please feel free to let me know and if verified by other users I can add to the OP.

Location|State|Company/Source|Tariff Free?|
Egi|Rivers|Total energies (Gas turbine)|Yes|
Egbema|Rivers|Shell (Gas turbine)|Yes|
Bonny|Rivers|NLNG (Gas Turbine)|Yes|
Amaechi School Road, Rumuosi|Rivers|PHED|No|
Okolobiri|Bayelsa|Gas Turbine (NLNG)|Yes|
Koroama|Bayelsa|Gas Turbine (NLNG)|Yes|
Aba|Abia|Geometric Power limited|No|
Ukwa West|Abia|Geometric Power limited|No|
Ologbo|Edo|Ossiomo independent power plant|Yes|
Ovade|Edo|Ossiomo independent power plant|No|

Scope
It is important to note that only electricity was considered as a factor in this, any other challenges were considered secondary and at such out of scope.

If you are a miner or prospective miner, I would recommend you check out any of these locations these locations.

As a Bitcoin miner you should focus on a place away from a populated environment and I don't think you should use the national electricity so you don't draw attention to yourself.

Yes, it's true that the places you mentioned above are indeed areas in South-South and South-East parts of Nigeria that has the potential of being the most suitable for a Bitcoin mining farm, since it has an average of over 18 hrs steady electricity, but on the contrary, with regards to the current technology of solar energy, anyone can now conveniently set up a Bitcoin mining farm anywhere in Nigeria, inasmuch as you can provide the security of your farm by yourself. Because one thing we all need to know is that never you assume that the electricity is ever going to be free when people in that environment noticed you own a Bitcoin mining farm that consumes most of the electricity, and you won't be levied to pay a fee. Unless if you are running a solo mining indoor, that uses less electricity. Hence, as a newbie, rather than relocating to any of these places, it's best you installed a solar system for constant electricity.

If electricity is the only challenge to start a mining pool here in Nigeria, then it is not a big problem to face. Most Nigerians have a good solar system set up, it dont take much to set up a solar generating power supply.

The biggest challenge here is the cost to set up. The cost of purchasing the mining machines. It cost so much, my dear.

These ASIC miners are cost a fortune depending on the model though, and that is even before, excluding the shipping as well as the custom fees, when it is being brought down to Nigeria.... Location and electricity is just one part of the challenges, there are lots of challenges you should have touched on, some of which includes:

1)  The high cost of getting a proper cooling system with enough ventilation to prevent the machines from overheating..
2) Unstable Internet connection,  OP is internet stable in your place, let us know?
3) Security issues..No part of the country is even safe. Folks shouldn't even be surprised to become a target by criminals when they get wind that you purchased ASIC miners..
4)  High maintenance cost.....Such a machine will definitely be needing lots of money for maintenance and replacement coz some of the parts have to be shipped down from abroad etc...

There is a long list of other challenges, this is what I can remember for now, other members could add to it, if they feel to...

Yes you are very correct on this you said right away.. Many people thought that since those places has a better supply it would be that ideal to start making using of them to mine bitcoin. Conspicuously speaking, anything could like happens when trying to mine bitcoin in those places and due to light issues it could be that for such person to be profitable through mining. Except they have their own source of power generation without having any interference through either power interruption or break down.

Yeah bro going off grid is actually the best idea because as a miner you can't take any chances. Basically you doing that in a country like Nigeria will only look like you are taking a huge risk as a miner and also gambling with your hardware. Like definitely national grid can collapse at any time  and for that it's easy to say that anything related to PHCN are basically profit killers for miners. If you raise your hopes up for them you will end up frustrated.

Overall being a miner is a huge responsibility that you must be willing to take if truly you want to make profit. And one of those responsibilities is going off grid and being independent . Basically to me as a miner, it's all about being active with a steady electricity supply even if the entire community goes dark. That's all for me....

First of, the places I listed above are mostly run by private firms, its basically a way of giving back to the land where you are getting your natural resources, e.g Shell, Total energies, NLNG so it is basically free of charge.

Likewise if you install your solar system you will also encounter faulty batteries and other related problems. So instead of writing this off, I think it will be better and more advantageous to setup in these location, and then you can add any other alternative power supply should incase you encounter a sudden failure in one.

Yeah bro going off grid is actually the best idea

Not really bro, a hybrid power supply will give a better result.
there are lots of challenges you should have touched on, some of which includes:

I know but the scope was clearly stated in the OP.
