No. I do it all the time.

EDIT: You need to buy Linden dollars first and then convert them to BTC.

True.
I forgot to mention that.
If you have a new account you have to wait 48 hours.
The coins are yours from the moment you bought them though, just not in your possession for 48 hours.

I'm definitely picking up a lot more than I was thinking I would - it occurred to me early in my research into btc that I might should reopen my SL account just to exchange btc and usd, but then I've opted for open sim and Kitely and I think OS is supporting it too. If not, I'll probably resurrect my SL account and go that route if necessary. It's hard to do because I see all my stuff held hostage since I left. Memories Tongue I mean  Cry

While it's not immediate, I think LL still sends a check out if you request that instead of a pay pal transfer. I just don't trust pay pal. I have the account, never funds in it, and only use it when I want a delay in the transaction so it'll pull it from my account. Maybe $30 or less at any given time but I'd be terrified to transfer more because of their sketchy policy of freezing funds. Just knowing they *can* and *could* is more than enough for me to not mess with it.

You say "anti government" like that's a bad thing...

just open an account at Coinbase. You can send funds to any wallet or any exchange and after you're verified you can move up to $3,000 a day initially - Virox is pain in the ass. I read what they want you to do and ran!
