Politicians Speak much better than Musicians?

I know it's an unfair comparison, considering the diversity between the two careers, Politicians focus more energy on public speaking while musicians follow up sounds with emotional approach, but these two control a tremendous number of fans, and talk to them steadily or occasionally, yet musicians fail to deliver strong speeches. Last few hours at the signing of the Trump Account in DC, Nicki Minaj, a famous US rapper was invited on stage to address the politicians in the room, her tone wasn't strong as it should have been on a musical performing stage, she barely had structured words to say or a story to tell, would I say she wasn't expecting to be called on stage, but from the low level confidence in tone she exhibited, her speech didn't end too well, she did fine though, but not as expected, I don't know if I'm taking it too far.

What do you think about the low level public speaking skill of musicians compared to politicians?

First of all, politicians are familiar with politics, and often studied that subject (ignoring the ignorance of Trump here).

They also need to debate and talk about daily, so they learn by practice. Switch the talking point to musical theory or stuff musicians talk amongst themselves and see who is better on that.

And Trump is way more exited to talk about himself (which he is mostly interested about about). Then some rapper, who is clearly not interested about politics to to the extent of shilling Trump in the first place.

But why would you base this assumption on one rapper? There are loads sophisticated musicians out there that would out speak majority of politicians, but especially Trump, who has vocabulary of under 10-year-Old child.

Just as the op have emphasize that they are two different carrier so it's but is trying correlating little similarities that involves human relationship of speaking to audience, politician capacity is centered of convincing the audience on promise's that cut their mind if if those promise can't be achievable, but normally most good musician are more motivational speaker who through their music are revolution and create change and persuade the politician promise's to be actualize by calling the attention of the public through musical means, I stand to be corrected in the past like area I resident most musician are more human activist who speak for the mases and pass information to the government or politician on the needs of the people and their promise during the campaign before been elected, some hidden relationship between this two body exist even if it's not gazetted.

Secondly, it's not everyone that can talk about politics because it isn't what they have interest on. You don't say something you don't know about because there are many brains in politics. Everyone have strength and weaknesses. There are some musicians who are good public speakers. Maybe Niki Minaj was not prepared for the speech and she was not fast enough to gather her thoughts and come up with a better speech. Musicians are entertainers and not public speakers. Why would I expect a misoicain to address politicians properly? It is not possible at all, unless they played politics while in school before becoming a musician, even at that, I do not expect them to be so good at it. Music is a talent, while politics is a career. Anyone can become a politician after servingas a mentor for a period of time, but not everyone can make music due to la ack of talent. The comparison you make is not tallying. No politician will take Nicki seriously because she isn't one of them.

I think you got the point, most musicians, not all, talk much about ice diamonds, shoes, cars, etc but fail at building on things that mostly matters, I could remember what a close friend told me years back, that if I'm to sit with Dangote, he wouldn't care about how much cars or ice diamond I own, but would want to hear my ideas. This is exactly what happened to Nicki, she was surrounded with billionaires, her flamboyant look didn't matter anymore they needed to hear her speak on what she knows or maybe say a related story of how she turned out to be Trump's number 1 fan.

If you noticed or watched the video you'd see nobody responded when she shouted 'Amen' that was out of scope. Had it been Grammy where similar minds like fans who adore wears are sitted she'd speak well, that's ok, but then, she won't expect her life to only revolve around fans and fellow musicians, that's why they'll also need to work on their public speaking skill.

You have already identified that they are different and they are really quite different. In fact, they are wide apart and opposite in nature. Politicians are for the few in government and musicians are for the people. So most of the musicians speak against politicians and government/governance and so you don't expect Nicki to become what she isn't trained to do. Politicians rehearse their speech and prompted so that they don't say what offends the government and also balance it with what the people should hear and delighted in. Therefore, if Nicki came to a political stage to speak in a way you felt she wasn't as confident as trump, always look at her as a musician not withstanding she said trump is her number one fan. 

Moreover, musicians have a philosophical way to pass their message using the rhythm of their music in a very short time. Most musicians I know have sang against one government or the other, so if Nicki is not fluent doesn't mean she isn't in other stage performance.

Politicians and musicians are two different career part. Politicians do alot of talking and they are also trained for public speaking,  because that is part of their job. Musicians on the other hand are good at singing and not talking, but the issue of Nicki Minaj not giving a very good speech at a political event is bot her fault, a Politicians will definitely do better in such situations,  but if the topic has to do with music, I believe Nicki Minaj would have giving a better speech.

It’s always a red flag for me when someone speaks eloquently as odd as that sounds. It means they’ve spent a great deal of their life trying to sound like they know what they’re doing instead of actually spending the time to learn how to do things. We also need to consider the differences between political audiences and concert audiences or music audiences. They will have two different styles. Clearly, different environments produce different results. Politicians find it easier to listen and speak in a structured way because the discussion space is so broad, while musicians are not. It depends if that's their event. Because that's not centered on Nicki then she wouldn't care to say much. But look at her concerts, these musicians are owning the stage and you'd see the wilder them because they own the floor. They know if the place is theirs and for them to speak but it's not like that. They know the difference on when to speak that much and when to shut their mouths.

In terms of speech presentation, all politicians are motivational speakers  filled with advance knowledge of convincing audience to make them dance according turns all for there corrupt and selfish interest. Mate you must be taking it really too fast as much because that conscience that justified your unfair comparison of comparing both public figures should already let you know that there must be other things you should be expecting on that event with the speech of the musician.

You also failed to wonder why should it be a musician to be given such privilege. Maybe you would also have some fault to figure on the other side of the politics.

Well... I have not come across the video but I am sure if Nikki has to act that way, she must be under the influence of trying to behave responsible she should be expected because she is in the midst of global dignitaries and her stand on the ground is a privilege.
So she probably thought of keeping her musical lifestyle away since she is neither not expected to come and show her musical talent.

Also know that musicians are more interests when it is composed and studied and make your corrections/edit before you public otherwise, you'll ruin your carrier with rubbish. So you don't also have to think because she is a global influencer and think she was ought to be just perfect in her reality.

Politicians take English speaking seriously because English language is part of the tool they use in confusing their listeners to elect them while they come back after winning in election with bigger grammers to defend themselves after they have failed to fulfill the promises they made to the people. Musicians are different people yes they need to speak English so they will have a proper communication with their audience and during interviews they make good ot English so that people can hear them very well but the politicians needs the public speaking more since they lie all the time and they always come out to cover different lies unlike the musicians who can decide to use their native language to do much and they still see different people all over the world vibing to the songs when they can't relate what the musician is singing.
