Hello,
I want to migrate from TrustWallet to another wallet. I have staked some TRX. I have a few questions:

1- Which wallet is a good alternative and offers good features?

2- Is it enough to just import the keys into the new wallet to migrate?

3- Will the coins and tokens I imported manually also be imported into the new wallet?

Thank you.

1. I'm starting to like unstoppable wallet more and more. It doesn't support staking as far as I know tho.
2. It can be enough but if you don't really have many assets, it's probably better to just create a new one and then send your assets to the new wallet.
3. It depends. Some wallets will automatically show balances of all known cryptos while ignoring the rest. Others might show everything including the spam/scam ones.

A proper hodling wallet doesn't allow staking. Nevertheless you can use Cake wallet it's open source and also multi coin supported. Basically there are two ways you can migrate which is import and sweep. For import you take your seed phrase or master keys from the old wallet and put in the new one automatically once you sync you see all of your coins.

For sweep you create a new seed on the new wallet and then move all your coins over to the new address. I'll suggest you do this if you have any security doubts about the old wallet.

If you just don’t want to create new wallet and want to migrate the old phrase into new wallet you are in search for that can also support staking I believe metamask will be the right one here, since staking TRX and all token which are avaible on the chain are now supported by Metamask it will be good if you give it a try adding to the fact that it’s one of the oldest wallet some of us have known… unstoppable wallet beat them all but it don’t have staking features that you are interested in.

Another option could also be to leave the tokens which you have staked on your old wallet create a new one using unstoppable or any other open source wallet move all your other asset there to be safe, because the more you are importing your phrase from one app to the other the more you are likely getting it exposed.

Hello,
I want to migrate from TrustWallet to another wallet. I have staked some TRX. I have a few questions:

Before you unstake the trx, wait and confirm if wallet derivation is the same for the wallets that are recommended above for you.
Download unstoppable wallet and import your seed phrase, if the Trx(Tron) wallet address is the same with that of your Trust wallet, then you can unstake the trx back to your wallet address. Go to your unstoppable wallet after you have import the seed phrase and then stake on any supported defi service if they have one.

Quote
1- Which wallet is a good alternative and offers good features?

There are many alternatives non custodial multi coin wallets that are open source but not all support staking. Unstoppable is one good wallet that supports multi coins, Cake wallet is another good wallet but I'm not sure if they support staking, I checked and I couldn't see anyone for Trx as you want.

Quote
2- Is it enough to just import the keys into the new wallet to migrate?

Import the keys like I explained above.

Before you unstake the trx, wait and confirm if wallet derivation is the same for the wallets that are recommended above for you.
Trust wallet, Unstoppable and Cake wallets have the same derivational part. That is not what to worry about for TRC20. Unstoppable and Cake wallets support more derivational parts than Trust wallet but having limited coins than Trust wallet.

There are many alternatives non custodial multi coin wallets that are open source but not all support staking. Unstoppable is one good wallet that supports multi coins, Cake wallet is another good wallet but I'm not sure if they support staking, I checked and I couldn't see anyone for Trx as you want.
Trust wallet have native staking for Tron, Cake wallet does not. Maybe Unstoppable wallet supports it, I do not know because I did not see anything like that on the wallet.

@hack3rcon
Are you referring to native staking? I mean staking directly on the wallet without the need to connect to any website?

Since you are concerned about security, that is why you are looking for an alternative to Trust Wallet so I would like to suggest that you create a new wallet on Open Source wallet, don't go for the closed source or partially open source, because on those wallet the dev can easily manipulate and as well lots of vulnerable things happened on those wallet like wallet hacking. So I would suggest go with the closed source wallet which have good reputation and is verified by the community and the specialist or the license providers.

Anyway, here is some list you can check it- (LIST) Multicoin Open Source Wallets .

Apart from that, I would like to suggest that it is better to use separate wallets for separate chain such as
 -Electrum, Mycelium, BlueWallet for Bitcoin,
-MetaMask wallet for Erc-20, Bep-20, Polygon, Avalanche, Arbitrum etc.

1. I'm starting to like unstoppable wallet more and more. It doesn't support staking as far as I know tho.
I did use Unstoppable wallet and that's the only open source wallet for altcoin I do end up liking but it had syncing issues the last time I used it, notably 2024. I don't know how well they might have improved but I can say their customer support is effective in dealing with this, also they do have limited altcoins but good since the top ones are often available.

-MetaMask wallet for Erc-20, Bep-20, Polygon, Avalanche, Arbitrum etc.
Metamask is not something I recommend again, there are questionable behavior.

Hello,
I want to migrate from TrustWallet to another wallet. I have staked some TRX. I have a few questions:

1- Which wallet is a good alternative and offers good features?
There are many self-custodial open source network wallets that support staking. You can use TronLink, Gem Wallet, or Guarda Wallet.

2- Is it enough to just import the keys into the new wallet to migrate?
If you import the seed phrase of the old wallet, you will get all the funds in your old wallet back. Because the funds are stored on the blockchain. If you find any problems or feel at risk in the old wallet, open a new wallet and transfer the funds manually.

3- Will the coins and tokens I imported manually also be imported into the new wallet?
Thank you.
Importing the same seed phrase will show all tokens held at that address. Tokens are not stored in the wallet, but rather on the blockchain. Tokens in the wallet are only displayed from the wallet UI.

Wrong recommendation.

Guarda wallet is not fully open source, the wallet application is not entirely transparent.
Gem wallet and Tronlink are the only truly open source wallet

I think unstoppable is a solid choice.

If you need more assets and if you think unstoppable lack features, as I did, and you need a mobile wallet  , a good alternative is coinomi

I use it for nearly a decade and I really like it. The only downside is that it is not open source, but it is available since 2014, which is quite a lot in crypto

If you had TRX staked on Trust Wallet. When you import the seed phrase to another wallet. All the coins you have on Trust Wallet will come up on the new wallet. However, it is interesting to note that you won't be able to claim the staked TRX on the newly imported wallet when the time is due. You can only claim it on Trust Wallet since it's where the staking was done.

As far as I am concerned, I'll say coinbase wallet, it supports all types of chains, it is completely different from its CEX(centralized exchange) it is a complete non-custodial wallet, meaning you have full control over the wallet. It supports migration, stacking, dapps, pretty much every feature Trust wallet have so yeah, it is a good alternative to trust wallet.

It is easy to operate too just put in your phrase and import your wallet then you're all good to go, it also have an inbuilt swap feature where you can easily swap your tokens for each other, so yeah it is a pretty good alternative.

Although, the coins you previously imported manually won't be imported automatically, I don't think any wallet does that but you can always reimport them again using it's smart contract address so it's not really a limitation, just a normal wallet behavior.

Hello,
I want to migrate from TrustWallet to another wallet. I have staked some TRX. I have a few questions:

1- Which wallet is a good alternative and offers good features?

2- Is it enough to just import the keys into the new wallet to migrate?

3- Will the coins and tokens I imported manually also be imported into the new wallet?
Let's get started with reasons why you no longer want to use Trust wallet.

I guess the biggest reason is its security by being a close-source wallet software. If you have yet known about it, you can explore it there.
https://walletscrutiny.com/?platform=allPlatforms&page=0&query-string=Trust

Trust wallet is marked as "No source!" in both PlayStore for Android and App Store for iOS. No source means this wallet is close-source and is unproducible - that is different than reproducible open-source wallets.

Now, you must choose "better" wallets that must be open-source, and have good history in security.
If you want to choose a wallet for Bitcon storage, let's do your personalized filter there.

Then use the walletscrutiny.com website for further checking with available technical reviews.

If you want wallets for altcoins, let's prioritize open-source wallets, and if possible, use hardware wallets.

Coinbased noncustodial wallet is a close source wallet, why should OP moved from a close source wallet like Trust wallet to another close source wallet. With what I think, I do not see any good reason. Or maybe it is because of Trust wallet browser extension that was compromised again few weeks ago? Maybe, but I see no good reason to move from close source to close source.

You are making a good decision to move your funds away from Trust Wallet. Although the name is "Trust" wallet, it can't be trusted because it's closed source and there are other issues too.

I migrated to Unstoppable Wallet a long time ago ever since Theymos recommended it in one of his posts. At that time even, it was a good wallet and with updates over time, it has become really a best wallet for storing altcoins and I will recommend it to you.
