So recently I happened to have seen a lot of "wallet mining " ads from scammers online and it's quite catchy since the Average greedy Joe will compare the fact that he's not risking to anything at all and his win is sure (yeah this will come to their minds because it's often compared with trading where losses are inevitable).

There's a bulk load of gist about the whole thing and their scam but the point is they capitalise on claiming they have a software capable of randomly getting wallets and their keys and stuff (which really doesn't make any sense) and then all you have to do in the end is just take those funds to your wallet.

A normal reasoning individual should know that anything that requires you to pay for or subscribe into is a scam, even the bitcoin miners don't pay anyone to mine bitcoin, they only solve algorithms and get rewarded with bitcoin, that aside, another big challenge here is that if this thing they called software that can crack on people's wallet is true, then they are introducing a phishy way to scam others of what belongs to them and such s not advised t someone who has good conscience.

Lastly, if all they claimed to be doing is true, they would have only maintained doing that for themselves without selling out to others, since it's a secret discovered by them, in addition, anyone that pay and receives a software application from them is more prone to attack by them also, which is a loss at both ends.

This seems to be a new type of scam because I just heard of an advertisement where wallet mining is especially lured with software that can break into the wallet and its keys.

The scenario is that if they pay a decent price then the scammer will send them software that contains malware?
I once had someone offer from a project on Telegram to play a game whose files they sent, even they can pay if they reach an agreement, only that the payment is at the end after playing the game.

What was sent was a dangerous malware file after checking it on virustotal. Because I already suspected that in the first DM telegram it would definitely be considered a scam by me.

The wallet mining of a thing is absolutely nonsense. and  the so called wallet mining ads you see around are pure scams, and the concepts itself doesn't even make any technical senses at all. And what I see they usually claim is that they have a software that can randomly find wallets with fund's and some how obtain the private keys, and allow users to move those funds to their own wallet what nonsense, what a scam in a broad daylight.

I may not be that good in technical things but what I know is that in reality those shits they normally say is not possible, because crypto wallets are being created using extremely strong cryptograph. Let me take bitcoin for example, bitcoin private keys come from a space so large that random founding of crypto wallet with funds may take longer than the age of universe even with massive computing power.

If such tools actually exist trust me the creators would use it themselves to drain large wallets or exchange and quietly become rich, there will be no need for them to advertise it online. So don't allow yourself to be fool with the so called wallet mining they are pure scams. Because no such tool exist.

Trust me, anyone who actually believes this and sends them money hoping to magically see funds  from random wallets which isn’t  theirs is being greedy and also a scammer,  so they deserve it .

There could be some curious people, but the real target are greedy people so it’s more like scammer scamming another scammer. I mean, it’s part of human nature when you tell someone to bring 30 bucks in exchange for millions …that’s how I interpret it, because if the software could really generate a random wallet key, it would be worth millions on its own. The only issue is that it can’t actually give them money, so they decided to sell it instead lol .

I have been working with the mantra If it's too good to be true then it's not true
It can be called a pessimistic POV but I don't see why strangers would want to help you with something that can help you generate income.
If it's that good they keep it a secret, that's humans.

The sad thing is scams evolves as people find a way to battle it

Yeah, it's a two way if you allow it then you'll get scammed. But if you ignore it, and you shall avoid it.

But even with us, we know these things. They're not targeting us but those people who are new and have seen it for the first time.

That's why we've seen so many people thinking that they can mine easily through their wallets because they have no idea about it.

It is very disturbing. I often see content about wallet mining, as the OP refers to. Oddly enough, people are curious about how it works. I don't know if they are part of a scammer group, but I suspect they are. I have actually seen this type of scam many times, and it is been around for a while. I hope you don't follow their (the scammers) offers, or you will fall into their trap, and you will suffer many losses.

Try to think realistically, or logically. Would anyone offer you a quick way to make money? Are you sure they don't have an ulterior motive? The answer is "NO", they have a motive, and if they had a quick way to make money, they would keep it secret, or under wraps, without revealing it to the public.

Since Bitcoin mining became too expensive and less profitable for average people. Fake wallet mining and cloud mining scams have been so rampant where they manage to convince people that there is a much cheaper, risk-free and faster alternative.
Newbies mostly tend to fall for this, and some of them learn the hard way. I remember when Bitcoin was still around $1K, I had a friend of mine try to convince me to do cloud mining. He actually told me that Bitcoin was too expensive to buy at that point, mining was hard, and cloud mining was the way forward. Looking back at that time today, I must say that was the cheapest opportunity I had to buy Bitcoin

If you see this ad from Facebook, it seems the one who promotes it is similar to the ads I usually see on Facebook. I mean owned by a similar owner. I see a lot of malware promoted on ads nowadays. Even when I report them, new ads show up with different domains, but still they look legit because they put the official domain from the ads, but once you click it, it will bring you to the phishing site or fake site selling something for a pretty cheap price, like anti-virus to protect crypto, but the fact is it's malware.
I don't know why Facebook allows this; they should manually check any of these ads. They just let scammers victimize more people for free.

It's important to know most basic principles for security, be cautious and careful with any advertisements pop-up on your web browsers and even update notifications from your softwares. Sometimes a software has its security hole that was compromised by hackers for notifying fake updates with links to phishing sites and malicious files.

With mining, don't let scamemed by Cloud mining and don't arbitrarily install any strange software on your devices for free mining with promising good mining rewards. Doing these things carelessly will put your devices and accounts under super high probability of compromisations.

You are right and in some occasions by experience, these scammers manipulates victims with good psychological understanding of how they they can figure areas to make you vulnerable.
So when they figures you are playing smart by insisting you won't pay until you get the soft or you are persistent that you want to test the software to know if it is really worth paying for fee charged, they (scammers) may be like... Okay, this target have greedy mindset and think such soft actually exist and reliable.

So psychologically you have been studied so they will want to create trust relationship with you just to divert your attention. So they would require you to give them your word of trust that when they send you the software and you verified it is working perfectly as claimed by them (developers), you will make sure to redeem your promise.

Yes, we don't know if that product really as its promise or not. The scam developer can trick people without they know. That can makes them lose they have. We must remember no fast money available and we must works and do something to make money. This is the first time I heard about that and I am worry that many people especially newcomers will not thinks about the risks. Fast money methods will always tempting newcomers to try no matter what is the risks.

I would not sympathise with anyone who is a victim of this kind of scam. This is because he was interested in stealing from others and got their fingers burned. The easiest means to identify a scam project is that it promises easy and fast means of making extraordinary gains.

This things still exists? The last time I saw mining scam ads was in 2020/2021, since that time I have not come across anything similar, mining is not even that good as we speak, everyone now knows that without expensive hardwares you can't mine anything this days, but like you said, some people might have no single idea.

Yet they will look upon the offer and feel very good about it? I bet they have a calculator on the link for visitors to use? Just asking because this is very common back in the days.

Those who don't like asking questions are the most lost souls in this space, if you have no clue about anything don't be a hero trying to doing it all by yourself without doing some research first, it sound too foolish in 2026 to still fall victim to mining scams. This makes me remember the Pi Network style scams that many fake Devs adopted.

They use cloud mining that shows "mining" as if some hardware resources are been used but nothing was really in use, yet people downloaded those apps on their phones and stared mining, not a single coins that worked this way is alive today.

The most basic knowledge to avoid falling victim to fraud is that the perpetrators ask their targets to send money to people they don't know at all, even though the activity here is anonymous.
In this increasingly sophisticated digital age, it should be easy to find ways to protect yourself from fraud. But they also have more advanced ways to trick their targets.

Hopefully, what we have here can serve as a barrier to protect ourselves. In addition to not clicking on links indiscriminately, unusual methods can also be lurking.
Bitcoin is expensive, and the purchase process is done on a trusted platform. Immediately transfer the assets from there to a wallet that is not connected to the internet.

In 2026, there is a lot of information that can be obtained easily, if you are still deceived and fall into a scammer trap with a wallet mining method like this,
I think the users are still very unfamiliar or have very little literacy, lack of reading and how Crypto works.

Methods like this have been used a lot and the goal is indeed to drain everything until there is nothing left,
charging mining applications to pay for the promise that mining work will be faster to make coins, but the fact is that scammers inject malware into the victim's device.

But usually at the beginning it will run smoothly until the third payment so that and then all will be lost.
