I see that this BISQ is mostly for US-only, so..
You can use Bisq from anywhere, and you can even find fiat list for most of the currencies but the problem is not enough liquidity. I wanted to use BISQ for very long time yet there is no liquidity at all and the prices were like 80% less for selling and 100% over for buying. So as the title says we need more people to bring the balance and liquidity on bisq. Bisq is great and I still wonder why P2P users are still using P2P market place provided by exchange while Bisq exist. If we can bring those people to Bisq, liquidity problem will be solved instantly. There are actually tons of P2P users across the world, yet most of them are sticking to inferior centralized solution like bybit's P2P marketplace. And it's true, if not for the spread, there would be more people using Bisq. It's the classic problem for a marketplace, You gotta find users to attract other users and without users you will attract no one.

Trading p2p mode comes with high risk so even if we get 100% privacy which is good for buying bitcoin but the problem comes while you are selling. Just imagine you sold your bitcoin and got funds in your bank account then one who send funds decided to use chargeback option which is completely possible. That is why user seek some kind of centralized authority where also these problems exists but users who wants to do this legitimately will have long history of feedbacks.

Liquidity grows when people start using the platform not the other way round and the reason why not many people are using is also because of the 100% anonymity. Myself a p2p trader for years I won't recommend selling your bitcoin to a completely unknown user because the money you get might be involved in shady practice so banks can freeze the account while investigation or it can be simple chargeback issue as I said earlier.

If you are considering this then Bisq is good one, it has hold this reputation of being non-KYC and decentralized for years. I would have loved to try it but it isn't really feasible for me currently. Since you are planning on getting more BTC and separated from your previous one, getting new devices or tools that won't be linked to others will be a good start.

Those who understand how Bisq functions have had to dedicate much more time in learning how to use it efficiently as compared to learning how other CEX exchange works and that makes things like everyday buying or for instant payments easier. Someone who consider using Bisq is a person who considers privacy as more important since mixers are banned, who doesn't trade regularly and it is mostly for those who intend to hold BTC for long duration and don't want to leave a paper trail of identity and have the patience to wait for some days before a trade is settled.

Bisq it’s very interesting but however for people who’s country currency aren’t listed on Bisq they will find it difficult to escape the centralized world or will probably not be able to use the computer to computer kind of trading, but if we can all deal in dollar or any other currency on BISQ then it’s going to be applicable for someone like me, but I’ve not been able to find another DEX with this kind of feature on my own except through this thread, maybe I will try to see them through.

True, there are few other projects with the aim for a similar level of decentralization, though every one makes trade-offs.
Hodl is a Bitcoin marketplace for peer to peer with multisig escrow but no custody, though it yet works by a centralized website. Robosats is nearer to Bisq in spirit, making use of the Lightning Network and Tor for privacy, even if trades are mostly lesser and quicker. OpenBazaar, though inactive presently, used to enable decentralized trade of Bitcoin for goods that does not have intermediaries.
Haven said that, Bisq is still one of the minor platforms that is completely decentralized, with open source and operates without a central server. Some so-called DEXs now are decentralized just for trading that is crypto to crypto, instead of exchanges for Bitcoin to cash.

Bisq is a working method for trading Bitcoin for cash and other 'things'. They describe themselves as an "Exchange, Decentralized." Being decentralized, and on your computer - computer to computer - you avoid much of the control that standard (incorporated) exchanges exert over you. After all, secure decentralization was the whole idea behind Bitcoin in the first place. And Bisq has it. Do you know of any other totally decentralized exchanges? Bisq is a very good exchange for those that don't want their privacy compromised due to KYC unfortunately, not many people use it probably because of the technicalities. If more awareness can be created to encourage more people to use the exchange, it will amount to another contribution to decentralisation and privacy.

Is there any currency which is not available on Bisq? Since you can always discuss with whoever you want to trade with in the currency you want to make payment with them, there is no limit that will affect any country person from using Bisq. You can agree to pay with a gift card or whatever means that won't connect you to using a centralized system.

After all, secure decentralization was the whole idea behind Bitcoin in the first place. And Bisq has it. Do you know of any other totally decentralized exchanges? Bisq is truly the best exchange that can be called as a fully decentralized exchange, and one can do p2p trading on that exchange without any issue. But, it's not for everyone, in most countries it will be hard to use the Bisq because the other users from that country might not use it and thus they won't be able to p2p their fiat to Bitcoin or Bitcoin to their fiat. There are some other automated exchanges that doesn't require KYC and they can be used to swap your Bitcoin into another coin and those services do not keep logs of the transactions. b1exch.io and CCE.Cash, and few other automated exchanges can be used to convert Bitcoin to any other coin. They aren't fully decentralized exchanges but since they don't require KYC information and thus they can be used by everyone.

Eventually Bisq solve those privacy issue for being fully decentralized platform, but the real issue is to attract enough users and this affect the network. Those CEX got a lot of users, that's why even if they are not best platform to use many people still go due to liquidity.

Not only Bisq, but other decentralized exchanges as well. Most of them suck in terms of user experience (UX), too. It's why many people prefer centralized exchanges these days. Even Hodl-Hodl (a centralized P2P trading platform) is doing better than Bisq (AFAIK). For starters, Bisq should have its own mobile app. A lot of people use smartphones on top of PCs. That would be a big help towards boosting mainstream adoption for the platform. Developers can make a web instance of Bisq as well. No need to install the software client this way. The number of buyers/sellers on the platform can increase if the developer team ramp up their marketing/PR strategy. I have good faith in Bisq and decentralized/non-custodial exchanges. With KYC all over the place, they're very much needed to help preserve Bitcoin's true fundamentals. Who knows what will happen in the future?

I had use Bisq several times (as a buyer) and i must say that it works like a charm, all goes well and sellers users was all really fast, maybe i just had luck all the times i use it but that was my feelings.
Last time i use it was in 2023 and there was a lack of users too, but this was not an inconvenient for me.
The only bad thing that i found is that i must pay a hight % and sometimes you need to wait for a good deal to take his offers, if not, you will need to pay like 15% overprice and things like that, at least in the payment option that i use mostly, but ey! this is normal guys!
Bisq is an excelent tool and people should use it much more, why there is lack of users? dont know but this software have everything that i want if i need to buy BTC privately.

Always surprised how little traction it seems to get.
Nonetheless, definitely encourage people to give it a try.

For your interest or even fear of KYC. Identity and Credentials. The implications for regulatory compliance are significant. Current know-your-customer (KYC) requirements force users to surrender comprehensive identity documents to every service requiring verification. Each disclosure creates a database that can be breached, subpoenaed, or misused. Zero-knowledge KYC (ZK-KYC) offers an alternative: prove compliance without disclosure. A user could prove "identity verified by licensed institution" without revealing the identity itself to downstream services. The compliance requirement is met; the surveillance infrastructure is not created.
This remains largely speculative as deployed regulation. Regulators accustomed to comprehensive disclosure may resist verification methods they cannot inspect. But the technical capability exists to satisfy regulatory purposes while minimizing privacy invasion. Whether regulators will accept ZK-KYC depends on policy choices, not technical limitations.
I’ve been in Bitcoin for nearly 12 years but I’m pretty sure most of my entire stack is KYC’d somewhere along the line, even dating back to the ones from LocalBitcoins and Bittylicious.

Although I agree on the point but those P2P markets in centralized exchange aren't exactly safe neither. There are some cases where user got tricked, scammed, etc. Personally I don't think there is that much difference, In centralized exchange, their P2P market use centralized custody escrow while in Bisq they use multisig. You'd know it's not that much difference the first time you used both marketplace, for example bybit's P2P market place or even bitget.

You are talking about fake payments, early release, and other disputes which arises at the time of the trade which is happening due to the stupidity of the people. But I am talking about something that comes long after the trades ends successfully, you will have funds in your bank account so you will release the coins but after a month or later ou will get the calls from authorities.

I completely agree with you that decentralized exchanges like Bisq should have more active users than they currently have. The last time I visited, there were few users, and I wasn't happy with that at all. Unfortunately, centralized and popular exchanges dominate – they have more resources to attract a new audience. Take, for example, binance. Even people unfamiliar with crypto currencies have probably heard of this exchange at least once. And how many ordinary people know about Bisq? I think the answer is obvious. Undoubtedly, within the framework of "digital freedom", decentralized exchanges are the only salvation. But how can we increase this exchange's user base? I think, first and foremost, it should be "profitable" for users, and when you see few offers for exchanges on Bisq exchange, it doesn't seem profitable. It's like a vicious circle. Since that last visit, I haven't visited that exchanger again because there are other exchangers that are more convenient, easier to use, and offer a wider selection of counterparties. Yes, this deprives one of decentralization, but these are the solutions that the average person will choose. I'd like decentralized exchangers to "gain power", but how can that be done? The question remains open for me.

The problem with these alternative options is not just liquidity, it is sometimes that they lack certain options that users seek so they can't attract enough of them. For example I tried Bisq quite a while ago (it has changed a lot since them) and wanted to sell some bitcoin for tether but they didn't support that, so I just abandoned it. Ever since then I've found an alternative that is centralized and am now used to using that, so I never bothered to re-check Bisq.
