I know say people wey don here for long understand how good the crypto space is or how the forum is all these while they have been around the community, as matter of fact they understand every single steps the scam do uses to scam people.
On your own you think you are always Smart, very careful, too smart for people to scam you, yous don't get your associated with anything that could caused you problems.

Do you know that problem might come when you don't expect, and of course your could get scammed or being hacked when you don't expect. This brought us to the reason that whatever we see or think of that is not clear on our sight we should be that trying as much as possible to always hit the forum and people around to always talk to them in whatever we are seeing or whatever messages that keeps coming to us both in private or in any other means this would helps us to remain safe and secure towards whatever we doing on the forum. Lots of people love Bitcoin so they do whatever just to make sure they attract your attention especially to those who aren't familiar with how they operate or work out there.

The purpose of creating this topic is because a friend of mine who happens to be claiming guru on the space was hacked and everything was made away from him. When he was telling me this story was traumatized and feels so sympathetic towards what happened this led me to come here to create this topic so that others could learn from his mistakes and remain safe at home without being affected so easily.

Conventional scamming would be difficult to fall for right now, I'm just speaking for myself but the problem is that hacking is a different ball court all together which makes it more difficult to successfully navigate and escape from, sometimes we accidentally click on things we did not intend to click on and we fail to realize how dangerous that small act can be, someone can now very easily hack your device by sending you a link for you to click on and you might think it's just some harmless link and click it especially when it comes from someone you trust who might have already been hacked so the hacker will basically be using someone you trust to try and hack you. This is how most people get scammed this days , fake conversations with people they know only to realize that they were conversing with a scammer after they have already been hacked or scammed.

One just needs to stay alert and careful at all times. If something looks shady, you don't have to act like a genius, just take it and run it by other people, ask questions if you have to, this forum is there to do so.

You are right actually, scammers have employed different methods that they are operating with and if you are not someone that is conversant with such scam methods, it may be difficult for you to identify that it is a scam. I have been scammed before and i have also seen people getting scammed so it's not really about smartness because if you are able to avoid being scammed, you may not escape being hacked. I have heard of people who have severe security protocols but how they were hacked was what no one could explain. But just like you said, it is good to ask others about something you think is shady or something you've not had any experience of before, you can be lucky to find someone who will be able to identify if it is a scam.

​Well that’ll really true Like basically one thing about scams is that at times you wouldn’t even know that you have been scammed that’s to show the level as to which this set of folks can convince someone. That said it’s not always about convincing someone Yeah we have links and so many more. It is very wrong to think that you have mastered all the scamming strategies, you know as time goes by that's how scammers is coming up with new method or step especially when they discovered that the one step isn't working, they would definitely look for a way to implement a new one that is not well known. He should have tell you the way he was scammed since you claimed he knows well about the security aspects of bitcoin. That might help others from falling victim to of such even though we know there are different kind of malware I’m already thinking of this case as something related to that.

Well, no man can ever become an island of knowledge no matter how much they learn and know, I might say that I am smart enough now not to ever fall victim to any form of scam or hack but this does not mean I should become totally careless, arrogant and non-chalant to things that will help learn more to better equip myself.

The problem with most people is that after they spend one to two years in crypto, they begin raising their shoulders high, they brag about how much they know and how they have nothing new to learn from others, this is a very common mistake most people make in crypto, they forget that the moment a man stops learning, he starts to go down.

Everyone wants to appear as though they are an expert in todays society, especially when it comes to subjects like cryptocurrency and investing.  Because people dont want to appear “clueless,” they usually remain quiet; this is exactly what scammers rely on.  When you are in a position of “contemplation,” you are alone and isolated; therefore, scammers love that state of mind you are in!

It’s crucial to understand that being scammed or hacked is far from being a guru or Mr know it all. Even an experienced person in the space could still be hacked if they leave themselves vulnerable. If I want to be honest here, with the small knowledge I don get for this crypto space and the years I have been in the system, I have come to understand that scammer can only get you if you give them something to work on. Without you giving them anything to you enter you from, like vital information they need, them no go fit do anything. There is a greater chance for me to get hacked than to get scammed. If I even get hacked, then it was because I was too greedy or just stupid. It's not difficult to spot a scam when you have been on the internet for a long time; we just shut out that part of our brain that shows us the red flag because of our greed or because we refuse to be careful. A scam has to be super elite for it to get me. And this is not me bragging, I'm just saying spotting a scam is not quantum mechanics, it's pretty easy.

Hack is a different thing altogether. One wrong downloaded app, clicking on one wrong link, and you're in trouble. It doesn't mean we can't prevent a hack, but you can never be 100 percent certain.

Well as far as hack is concern, it is a more sophisticated level of scam and everybody is subsceptible to it especially if you have expose your password to public or you have not used additional security from the default security from your apps etc like 2FA and others. If it were other minor scam, they will be easy to detect and maybe your friend already know how they operate with such and that is probably why he was boostful about it. Now he knows better and I'm sure he will protect his passwords better than before and also avoiding exposing them.
