I found 3 Newbies with the same tactic: PaulDrawsArt, chipfranks and Entire-Marketing (all tagged red by me).
They've opened a total of 5 topics (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) asking which exchange to use. A bit later, they edit the post to say it's solved and add a link to a brand new and no doubt scam exchange:
I've reported them. Update: they're Nuked. We need edit-tracking to catch them all.

We need edit-tracking to catch them all.

Bitlist.co does that, but it's far from perfect since Bitcointalk doesn't provide API to return list of recently edited post/thread. They managed to caught 3 of 5 edit by those user, see
https://bitlist.co/post/66204029/versions
https://bitlist.co/post/66344660/versions
https://bitlist.co/post/66347844/versions

Anyway, it's also common hidden SEO spam tactic to avoid moderation. They add the link some time (usually between few hours to few days) after creating the post to reduce chance their SEO spam getting deleted.

Seems like this type of scamming practice is increasing these days. We have just seen a similar scam attempt via a poll, and you are aware of it as well. I think I have seen a thread before where the newbie guy asks some questions, and later they reply to that thread using their alternative account so they can get merits. It seems such tricks are working for them, which is why similar cases keep appearing.

Bitlist.co does that, but it's far from perfect since Bitcointalk doesn't provide API to return list of recently edited post/thread. They managed to caught 3 of 5 edit by those user, see
This was a nice addition. However, I didn't know that it does not always work. Any idea why the other two didn't worked?
