I recently reread one of Akunin's novels. It's from a detective series about the famous detective Erast Petrovich Fandorin. One of the novel's characters is a cunning assassin who loved playing roulette in European casinos. He always won because he was incredibly disciplined. He used the "martingale" strategy (I know that in practice, this strategy doesn't work in gambling). However, in this novel, he always won at roulette precisely because of his discipline and self-control. 🙋

Indeed, I've known many people in my life who failed to achieve success precisely because of a lack of discipline. They were very smart and used effective life strategies. However, they lacked the patience to consistently follow these strategies. They were simply bored. So, at some point, they began experimenting and ended up losing. In my opinion, this applies equally to gambling.

 It's not enough to make accurate forecasts (a forecast accuracy of just over 50% is quite sufficient). However, without discipline, even highly accurate forecasts won't allow you to win in the long run.

Well, based on my perspectives I would say that discipline can me a bit difficult when it comes to gamble because 95% of gamblers always want to win a good amount of money, some gamblers are even influenced by what they are seeing on social medias or from their friends. But as for accuracy it's also hard because only luck can make us to win out bet. The reason why I said accuracy is also different is because even a little bit of distraction can ruin the performance of your predictions. I can't comprehend how it feels to be hyped up and rush decisions on a live bet.I don't play live bet, it does not interest me to play bececause off how i see it. To predict a game, I need my calm place because I can't concentrate when it comes to noisy environments. So I always bet before the game starts and relax to watch it play out. So, are you calm enough to place a bet and watch the game "in peace"? I'm not surprised you don't find live betting interesting  I don't watch the games I bet on to avoid wasting my emotions, I prefer to know the full outcome. But of course, when I bet live, it's different. I determine the entry/exit odds in advance and just wait for them. And yes, once the bet is placed, I can stop watching. You might as well replace word discipline with stubbornness and answer to that. In that way you see it from another perspective, that has less self-grandiosity subtext.

I've even heard that many professionals have a near-perfect schedule in their forecasts, where they know exactly when to go to bed and when their lunch break is.
