One of the emails released addressed to Jeffrey Epstein was about the forking of zcash back in 2018. People are starting to speculate whether Jeffrey Epstein was closer to the founder of zcash than what is known. Even saw someone speculating if Epstein actually had something to do with the creation of bitcoin itself haha. Imagine that.

Do you use zcash? Is it as private if there are influential people who might be too involved?

Here is the file.

As far as i know Epstein has invested some money in zcash. That's why he's confirmed affiliated with Zcash founder. This is no longer a rumor since the email about it already leaked and public has known it. Epstein has his hand every where. Everything is being touched by him.

Beside that i don't use zcash caused by i'm not really concerned about the privacy.  I believe its privacy protocol has nothing to do with the parties involved in the creation of if. It's basically a permanent code that is already deployed. There's nothing to feel worry about.

If it's decentralized, it shouldn't be affected by developer scandals or their involvement in illegal activities.
Zcash offers less privacy than Bitcoin + CoinJoin, so those seeking privacy will undoubtedly choose more reliable options like Monero.

Why do people care so much about this? I get that Epstein files are a big deal but I feel that it's over exaggerated here in crypto. Look at the value that has been lost in the market already and people want even more to be lost in zcash with the latest release. I've never used zcash btw but large part of the crypto community think it is the heart of privacy for crypto.

Why do people care so much about this?
That's because Trump is mentioned there and anything that's related to him is what people caring about.

But me as well, I wouldn't care about it and even there's a mention of Zcash or even Bitcoin, we don't mind about it.

I get that Epstein files are a big deal but I feel that it's over exaggerated here in crypto.
Yes, it's a bit exaggerated when it's involved there. And it shouldn't be that big as if it's mentioned or he's friend with the ceo, forking is a kind of idea that has been applied to many projects long time ago.

Everyone looking for more privacy would look for zcash and privacy coins in general. If Epstein used zcash by any mean, this would never effect zcash if it's fully trusted decentralized. And if the founder is involved with Epstein for illegal activities, this has nothing to do with project lunched in the blockchain with full transparency.

At some levels, anti-bitcoin attacked bitcoin because the criminals use it and ignore that criminals use fiat money as well. They don't propose to get rid of fiat money instead.

The first thing I have to refute is this.

Well, Epstein is known to be close to many elite people, topics and ideas; so we must first see what part he was involved into zcash. The problem is that contact doesn't mean control. Zcash, like any other cryptographic protocol, involves implementing open-source code through distributed computing across the globe. Regardless of who sponsored it, a bug is still a bug.

I think no one cared about Satoshi's identity or wondered who he went out with the night before mining the genesis block, and that's still the case.

Upon checking the file, it just shows that an email and doesn't show Epstein controlling Zcash or influencing its protocol. There is direct communication, but not to the extent of deeper influence.

Being early like this probably means he was part of the "Founders Reward". Showing here [1], the fund could've flowed to investors like Epstein. This could be the possible source of his coins, hence just rewards and no control on protocol.

There's no concrete evidence yet that he has influence in Zcash IMO.

Epstein was a big fan of cryptocurrencies apparently. He was friends with people who were around in the early days of Bitcoin. Those connections are probably what led to him funding developers and investing in different projects. Even Michael Saylor was in the files, but he wasn’t involved in Bitcoin back then.

I don’t read too much into every mention of crypto in his emails. He was a financier who allocated money to many things. Trying to relate Bitcoin and even Zcash to the actions of criminals is a logical fallacy. That is a deceptive tactic that politicians like to use.

Just because some guy decided to use a crypto doesn't make him affiliated,,, a lot of criminals use Bitcoin right? No surprise these kind of criminals are looking at anonymous coins.

Like FinneysTrueVision says,,, Epstein was a financier and investor. No surprise he was into cryptocurrencies. Technology makes these guys rich.

Looking for Signature Smiley Old forum member but took a vacation personally,,, now I am back!
