No, it wasn't a new concept, but it practically was. Tenebrix came afterwards. Solidcoin was a scam and I0Coin, Ixcoin and Litecoin all came out within a month of each other. No Tenebrix launch: September 26, 2011, 12:09:44 AM Litecoin launch: Thursday Oct 13 2011, 03:00 GMT I was mining them both from right after the genesis block. Well, it doesn't appear to be 2009 from this https://litecoin.info/History_of_cryptocurrencyBut you win.

Yeah sorry, I copied that from the tenebrix source code and posted it but then realized that lolcust forgot the change the nTime in the comment from Bitcoin's, haha There was fairbrix as well that came out around the time of litecoin, but because litcoin had block reward halving and fairbrix didn't, and also because fairbrix was relatively buggy, fairbrix lost.

Or maybe the name matters.

Looking back I can only say every time people were going to analyze btc based on experience on something far from it (ex.,gold) they've made mistakes.
So, isn't it better not to compare Bitmonero and Bytecoin with Litecoin and Bitcoin?
btw, interesting discussion why litecoin become so popular.

I've posted updates on puzzles, CryptoNight, and community opportunities posted at CN forum.
Guys, what would you like to see covered in this FAQ? I'm quite stuck at the moment.
I think the last FAQ in Usage must be updated as it would be added to comkort.com soon https://comkort.com/blog/news

Wow! I am surprised they are able to contact devs.
I don't even know anyone who had contacted them with success. We'll see how it would be this time.

Yesterday at 18:50 "We don't have estimate yet, but we are working on it. We have many active issues today. Will keep you updated!" Hmm ... I am curious is the protocol so difficult they can't add BCN to their exchange?

I've found a new section on CryptoNote website, the standard transaction generation: https://cryptonote.org/inside.php#standard-transactionA standard CryptoNote transaction is generated by the following sequence covered in the white paper. Bob decides to spend an output, which was sent to the one-time public key. He needs Extra (1), TxOutNumber (2), and his Account private key (3) to recover his one-time private key (4). When sending a transaction to Carol, Bob generates its Extra value by random (5). He uses Extra (6), TxOutNumber (7) and Carol's Account public key (8) to get her Output public key (9). In the input Bob hides the link to his output among the foreign keys (10). To prevent double-spending he also packs the Key image, derived from his One-time private key (11). Finally, Bob signs the transaction, using his One-time private key (12), all the public keys (13) and Key Image (14). He appends the resulting Ring Signature to the end of the transaction (15). I'm not sure I saw it last time I visited the website. And a nice pic also: Full-size: https://cryptonote.org/img/cryptonote_transaction.png

Great summary, thanks! it is told that BCN was well developed from scratch. Does this mean that bytecoin is more thoughtful currency than both BTC and BTE?

Wow! I am totally entangled in the scheme! Very impressive, guys who conceived the idea must be smart asses. Great summary, thanks! it is told that BCN was well developed from scratch. Does this mean that bytecoin is more thoughtful currency than both BTC and BTE?
Maybe silly question, but what is BTE?

Maybe silly question, but what is BTE? BTE is an abbr for Bytecoin, another Bytecoin, which is Bitecoin fork only based on SHA256 and have nothing in common with Bytecoin (BCN) except the name.
