Nigeria politics is different because it is driven by power, poverty, weak institutions, and identity while Abroad politics is driven more by accountability, institutions, and citizen pressure.
Nigeria politics feels very different from what you see abroad because the foundation, incentive, and political culture are not the same.it is not that Nigerians are worse people, the system itself shapes behavior.
Politics in Nigeria is about survival not service.
In many developed countries, politics is seen as public service, in Nigeria it's often seen as economic survival and power access.
Public office, direct access to wealth, so politicians fight desperately by any means to win and stay in office.
Weak institutions vs strong institutions in Abroad like US, UK, Germany, etc Courts are independent, police enforce the law, Electoral bodies punish rigging.
In Nigeria institutions are weak and can be influenced, Laws exist but are poorly enforced, powerful people often act above the law. when institutions are weak, individuals become stronger than the system.
Lack of consequences, one big difference is that Abroad leaders resign or go to jail, while in Nigeria scandals are forgoten.

Why is Nigerian currency different from Abroad??

Why is Nigerian Language(s) different from Abroad?

Why is Nigerian’s geographical structure different from Abroad?

We could go on and on…

The quick answer is, because Nigeria is totally different from those other countries abroad, plus we are a sovereign nation meaning we are free to employ whatever political structure or system that we desire. Not saying we have the best political system in place, I’m only answering your question on your Subject.

You just responded absolutely and in no doubt, Nigeria politics is different from abroad politics because that geopolitical differences made the country's politics different from others and so every nations with their own rule of laws.
Nigeria is also not the only country with corruptions of governments so OP should bear on mind that politics everywhere is a game of interest.

I don't think if OP has actually traveled abroad to have witnessed how they also play their own politics to be compared with Nigeria. So I don't really know that which he admires that so much with the insight the broad system of politics cited in the media that is full of hypes and not telling the truth where bribes has been deposited to hide the truth.

Maybe we can take a recall of the formal US president Joe Biden and the current US president Donald Trump, some says Trump is intoxicated with his political position. Biden was on solo.

There is no place really being verified to have fair leaders or decent political alliance and activities. That is why people get murdered even during election as a political event. Sure we can recall about two occasions of attempted execution of Donald Trumps during his campaign. Sure that is also not Nigeria.

Are we really a sovereign nation?! Lmfao!

Forced to practice western democracy, forced to carry out western style of marriages, forced to have your citizens taxed out to the core by western systems, forced to rely on IMF & WB ( international monetary fund and the world bank ). At the same time more and more forced upon us to be practiced. We're far from a sovereign nation. Not even the citizens are fed well enough and you call that sovereignty?!

Try and look at each country and see the way they operate their politics and way of leadership, because not all of them are using the modern democracy practice, we can take Iran for instance, with their kind of monarchy leadership more related to a religious pattern, some become leaders by privilege and take position for a lifetime leadership, while some are taking position by democratic rule for the period of four years, except that the people express their dissatisfaction and crave for a new regime and change in leadership.

Sadly Nigerian politics has been reduced to “my turn to eat” rather than actually working for the good of the people.

You deserve a reward for this reply.

Nigeria is a country totally different from other countries. The only similarities we can find in Nigerian politics to some other countries is the practice of Democracy.

Many other countries are practicing democracy in the way they understand it. Nigeria democracy is not for the people, it is for those in leadership. I don't know for others, except for the US where democracy sound more like authoritarian government.

You don't expect Nigeria politics to be the same with Abroads politics and we should know that they have different colonial masters too and that detects the different kind of politics that operates in different countries except those countries that have the same system of government with us which is the democratic system of governance, in other civilized and developed countries a public holder is seen as a servant not a demigod but in Nigeria all the politicians keeps their shoulders high and are not willing to be accountable for their tenure after service.

We suffer in the hands of Nigeria politicians where once they get into power they don't fulfill their promises during campaigns all they do is to embezzle funds and enrich themselves with their family members but in abroad once a leader doesn't do well they petition him and ask him to resign and he will obey unlike Nigeria that you can't cough and talk bad against any politician that's not doing well.

In Nigeria what we practice is corruption and not politics if not why will our political representatives see office as an avenue of getting themselves rich from the account of the nation instead of practising what politics is all about. Other countries that knews what politics is all about never forget to put the faith of there citizens first by making profitable policies that helps in making life easier for there citizens while that of Nigeria is only stealing and nothing else. Honestly speaking there is no politics in Nigeria what we have is just corruption and nothing more.

Nigerian politics is different from abroad according to the topic because we as blacks as a whole copied a system we don't even understand. To make it worse, we are so diverse that the copied system itself is against us because of our different cultural beliefs, so it will be difficult to operate in such an environment to top it up we also have different religious beliefs as well. When government was introduced, the goal was to follow a systematic way irrespective who who's in power at that point in time, they already have something like a blueprint which every person that's occupying a political office follows. The laws and rules are simple, if let's say a project is been started by a government and for some genuine reason it's not completed, the next government comes in to finish those projects, not just that, they also have to maintain those already completed projects. We still haven't learnt the system of governance that was copied, untill then we will still remain the same.

Nigeria politics is different from that of abroad because it's not our own but a copied one. Further more, they didn't copy the good practices and teach the citizens how to live a just life. They copied the bad ones and use it against their own people. Nigeria leaders don't understand how democracy works, they're not practicing it but only preaching it. Nigeria are practicing nepotism.

The type of politics we play here in Nigeria is entirely different from those of abroad, more especially the developed countries. Leadership is about rendering selfless service to the people, listen to the voice of your followers, solve the problem confronting them and act according to the constitution and laid down policies.
Here in Nigeria, the reverse is the case. Nigerian politicians does not render selfless service, the first thing they think of when they assume a political office is how they can enrich themselves and steel public fund.

Nigerian politicians are not trust worthy politicians, but we still pray and believe a day will come when our country Nigeria will become a better place and all we are seeing now will become things of the past.

Well, I think you've said all that needs to be said. But just to add, I think the whole political game has become more of a secret cult, rather than a public service to the people. They've now successfully manage to turn the entire government into a one political party system because they plan to keep ruling for as long as ever. When the majority are under one vision, there is certainly no one to oppose, and In an ideal government, there needs to be oppositions in order to create a balances and imbalances.

Unfortunately we don't longer have this, so the government can boldly make some drastic unaccounted decisions, while still pointing middle fingers at the faces of the people without any consequences.

There are different and so many things that Nigerian politicians are different from Abroad, and African black leaders would always want to lead the people and not to serve and they have forgotten that when you’re a leader you’re either way elected by the people which is why you are there to serve the people, but the majority of our leaders are greedy because they’re looking for something one way or the other they want to have everything in the world, and here in Nigeria our leaders aren’t held accountable for what they are doing, instead they are being overlooked from what they are doing, Nigerian is a country where there is no law, and the law is only for the poor people, considering that we hold ourselves accountable for the challenges that we have ahead and whatever our leaders did they are holding accountable for it then it gives us a better understanding and opportunity to have a better country, but whoever steals money is not held accountable for what they have done, that is the problem we have in the country, in the western world things are done very differently there leaders aren’t held responsible for everything they do, and they are serving the country they’re not there for any selfish reasons they’re more responsible for serving than leading, most of the politicians in aboard have one business or the other before they got into politics and they’re already wealthy men, so what else will they be stealing.

I think that the op is emphasizing on the bad leadership going on in the country, not language, currency or geopolitical structure.
I believe that you know that Nigeria is richly blessed with different minerals resources, but it's not reflecting on the standard of living going on in the country, corruption and tribalism has kept the country down in where it is today, when we should be up their with Saudi Arabia and united Arab emirate that are making use of  their mineral resources properly.
So it's really a valid question by the op, why is our politics different?

We are practicing democracy but our president is suspending an elected governor, like how?
Nowhere in the world you will see something like that, but in Nigeria, it's totally different because in Nigeria, their is no punishment for corrupt politicians.

There is so much greed in the mind of our politicians, from predecessor to successor from time to time all what they put first is their selfish interest and not the interest of the the public, the abroad system of governance is far better than that of ours and the worst part is that our politicians are not learning the good things from them even even seeing the differences, we have what it takes to build a better governance and system of government, one of the major difference is that in abroad they make provisions and do good things that will be beneficial to generations and not just for present time.

I think you missed my point.
Indeed, I’m pretty much aware of what OP is trying to say, but my point is that, asking why Nigerian Politics is different from Abroad is literally like asking why is our language also different, why are our culture different, why is our geographical structure different, I can go on and on. The point is we can’t keep comparing ourselves with others because the truth is that everyone is completely different and no one is completely perfect, not even the countries you listed here. Rather than making unnecessary and irrelevant comparisons that won’t change a thing, better we seek after ways to proffer solutions and solve the problems we have control over.
