The Nigeria political landscape often seems dominated by seasoned politicians, leaving many young Nigerias wondering if there's room for them. Let's break it down by challenges youth face:
1. Ageism: older politicians often view youth as inexperienced.
2. Financial Muscle: politics requires significant funding, which youth often lacks.
3.Traditional power structures: Established politicians control key positions and networks.
  BUT WHY SHOULD YOUTH CARE?
1. Representation matters: Youth voice are needed to shape policies impacting their future.
2. Innovation and energy: Fresh perspectives and accountability
3. It's a right: Participation in politics is a fundamental right.
  WAY OUT
1. Youth-led movement: leverage social media and activism to push for change.
2. Mentorship: Seek guidance from supportive politicians
3. Start Small: Engage in local politics or student government.
Nigeria politics can be for the youth but it takes effort, resilience, and collective action.

Due to the political landscape in the country where most political sit is occupied by forefathers I ho refuse to retire or pave way for a system in which youth is more integrated.

Mostly in Nigeria politics you have to serve for so many years before you are even given a chance to become a councillor, most people grow old while waiting on their political godfather to appointment. As a youth it is hard to occupy a prominent sit in government without some foundation  on grass roots politics unless you are being  carried along by a political godfather.

There are more features and things to fix in the system. It's been ruined and there's absolutely nothing funnier than watching these men controlling the affairs of the country. These aged men seems they're fit enough to control things and they forget about the modern age. Alot of things are moving forward and this is not the time to be engaging in previous pattern that didn't work well.

One of the key determinants and problem the Youths face when it comes to participating in politics is finance and godfatherim as a Young vibrant Youth who wants to engage in politics and you don't have financial capabilities and backup from elder statemen you go no where even as common as a councillor you won't get, you must have served the politicians for years before you can be considered for the position of a councillor or otherwise.

Besides the Youths of this generation doesn't seem ready to me for them to take over power, all they derive Joy in is becoming Media and Data Boys to politicians, how long will they continue like that and become a voice to what they aim at?  It's pathetic where the older politicians doesn't want to bow out of government and give the Younger ones opportunity to lead, the Youths are no longer the leaders of tomorrow as we all sang in primary school so it's high time we take responsibility if we want to take over power as Youths and the key notes you pointed at from 1-3 should be put into consideration.

We won't conclude that Nigeria politics is not for the youth because old man in the system deprived them access for now, but i will say the time for them to take over is yet to come and when it comes nothing can stop them. Since the creation of Nigeria, a particular set of people have been the once making decisions on the activities of the country and refused to allow people which is the youth with vision to step into power because of corruption and other reasons filled in there corrupt mindset that makes them destroy the country.
I know for now the opportunity have not been given to the youth but very soon they will stand and possess there possession then bring back Nigeria to lost glory.

You have just mentioned it all the way it should be. Nigerian government has been controlled and occupied by the same circle of people who have been ruling this country from day one. Since the military regime. The leaders of Nigeria during the military era are still very influential in the decision making process of the country today, presidents still come from those circles or at least from their tutelages and they still wield the political influence because they are benefactors to these guys, the civilians among them are now the ones occupying the seats of power across the boards and making decisions for the country. There are completely no new crop of leaders currently occupying the seats of power in Nigeria today especially the demographics of the young people and this is because the old cargoes have built a cabal which only rewards their political ambitions and stooges. It is definitely going to be difficult to fight against this circles but it is not entirely impossible as a time will come when they are not going to be present again either by call of nature or frailty and the networks they built will collapse and by then I expect the young people would have risen firmly to stand their positions.

I just said something about Youth in politics in Nigeria in a different thread, i don't really know why we always thinking that youth are not involved in government, why we always point fingers at only president, yes the president is the overall leader but they are keep positions which are not lead by old people. If I may be correct the only old person that is ruling in Nigeria now it's Mr President, there are so many governors who are still youth and we keep on saying that Nigerians is occupied by old men, I will only agree with you if you say that Nigeria is being ruled by the same person since 1960, what I mean is that all the people or almost 90% of people we find today ruling have connections to those people that rule before 1999, honestly this is the issue we should be addressing not that the youth are not really in Nigeria government but they don't have good mindset.

What you are proposing is very difficult, you haven't mentioned the things that divides us which is tribalism and religion to an extent. If the youth body of the south form a political movement, those from the North wouldn't join, same thing goes if the movement is formed from the North, a very good example was the End SARS Movement, Northerners felt their own Brother Buhari was in power, so there was no need to protest. We are a country that is heavily divided, and until we remove that division among us, then we can form a common cause.
