for me player count is more psychological than logical, slots run on RNG so whether 1 player or 1,000 players are spinning each spin is independent, the game doesn’t warm up or pay more just because many people are on it. Personally I choose slots based on RTP if available, volatility depends if I want small steady wins or riskier play, & theme/ bonus mechanics important for enjoyment. Player count? I think you are mistake to think that games with more participants pay more. I do not think it has anything to do with it because each spin is independent and these modern slots  not "keep a memory" of wins or losses to program what to do at next rounds. Well... I am talking about an honest casino that truly practices "fair play".

There are other types of games where the more players and more bets are feeding the jackpot, so the prize accumulate and then bigger prizes, more promos and bonuses appear because this ends up being profitable for the casino, and it even does more marketing in these games to accelerate the growth of the prize pool.

I do not check the slot RPT, although I know about it. I just choose one and gamble with it. I prefer the ones that can have frequent return in a way that more bet will turn to winning even if the amount is small, unlike some that will not give winning at all. What if it is the other way round whereby maybe the majority of gamblers might have discovered that the game has a better and high rate of having a return of investment and as such they choose to continue gambling on that very particular game. People usually leave winning and losing in slot games to luck but it is not entirely true. Although luck is a big factor and there is no denying about that but if you just sit there and thinking like you have bad luck then you will lose control of yourself. So trying new games or looking at player counts does not actually guarantee winning but your playing style, budget limit and when to stop are much more important in slot games. First, I play the demo version to see if I like it, then I pay attention to the minimum bet, making sure it's not too high. That has happened to me also which is when I have played a slot where 468 people were playing it I got lucky and won sometimes. I only choose my slots where to play based only on few things and they are how big is the max win and how good are the bonuses and game mechanics. I play based only on these couple of things and I usually play NoLimitCity and Hacksaw gaming which usually provide huge max win up to 500000x in NoLimitCity and of course a good and entertaining bonus game or games because these providers usually have more than one bonus. Yes, others might check the RTP, as the higher the RTP the better for gamblers, but it's should be a long run, meaning, thousands of runs or even millions and see how much it goes. So it doesn't matter for me I guess, as long as I check the RTP and then choose the highest one.

However, there is one thing that we can't measure and that is luck. Everyone has different luck, and so we might win in just a few rounds as I have experienced. Even the first spin, I will go and win the bonus round, regardless of the RTP. Or play hundreds or thousands with the minimum bet of $0.2 and not won a thing and experience a losing streak and the only thing that I got is near hit or near misses.
