Cricket is known as a gentleman’s game. To preserve that spirit, there is now a need for a new international governing body for cricket. In South Asia, the ICC has effectively become hostage to Indian political interests. Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja M. Asif stated on X that Pakistan will play against India in the T20 World Cup only if Bangladesh are reinstated and their matches are shifted to Sri Lanka.
So what do you think will the ICC once again ask Bangladesh to participate in the World Cup just to accommodate the Pakistani government’s demands? Or is Pakistan actually signaling that it will not play against India, using Bangladesh and the World Cup as leverage?
