Why do we gamble?

Those who dwell on their losses, neglecting the enjoyment they claim is their main reason for gambling, are actually deceiving themselves. Complaining about losing is normal, even for those who see gambling as entertainment; after all, losing is never good, especially money. More than for the fun, I gamble for the adrenaline rush it gives me, the feeling of pleasure, the expectation of hitting the "jackpot," both emotionally and literally speaking.

But if that is the case why do we usually complain most times when we lose or why the persistent chasing of lost or try to get back our lost each time we lose in our gaming streak

Do we? I am not a butthurt and I always take my losses lightly. I'm quick to accept it when I am not lucky and have been dealing with losses.

It's possible that they're not sincere with what they're saying when they gamble. Easy to say that we're in it for fun but deep inside when we're losing, we can't take it. Depending on how you really can make yourself up with losses because it's one big thing for someone who's not serious in saying that they do it for fun.

At first, I just gambled for fun, just to see how lucky I was, but then my attitude towards gambling slowly changed. When I win, I’m never satisfied - I want to win more, and when I lose, I’m always trying to get my money back. And the bigger the loss, the bigger the wish to win even more to take back what I lost and to make a profit. I didn’t care that I was up against a system that was rigged in favor of the owner, not the players. And if I were to tally up my losses, they would be innumerable.
Before I knew anything about gambling, I already had money to set aside and put into my savings every week. But after gambling was involved, rather than adding to my savings, they dwindled. And when I had a big win, I didn’t know where my money went.

First time I went to casino I was curious as I just became legally allowed to enter casino. After that I didn't had much interest in gambling, visited casinos and bet shops from time to time but that was all. Everyone has their own reasons why they gamble. Some people gamble because they want to make money from gambling, and some gamble because they feel gambling can be a source of income for them.

 While some gamble because they want to be entertained by gambling, just to have some fun, those who gamble for fun have a better understanding of gambling, and that is why they can let go when they lose because gambling is unpredictable and a game for fun. Those who gamble to make money feel they don't deserve to lose money in gambling; this is why they would always go after their losses.

Well if I may say everyone gambler gamble's for various reasons and as an individual I will always say this emotions plays a big role in every gambler's lifestyle. Why Because even if you are a responsible gambler, you will not notice it that you are becoming emotional. When you see some gamblers are complaining it means they’ve lost allot of money in the gambling and what cause all those things is that when their losing and still trying to chest the lost they lose more than what they didn’t expected in the gambling; which the best is to avoid the gambling not everyone have the mentality of winning in the gambling but not everybody comprehend that words.

So many people kid themselves and say they onky gamble for fun!! but in reality, the truth is there is more to it. Gambling also gives hope, the hope of winning, changing a situation or getting back what was lost. That’s why losing hurts and why people chase losses. Once money and emotions get involved, it stops being just entertainment. Being honest with ourselves about this is important if we want to gamble responsibly in the society.

It is out of my business if others are seriously gambling for fun or any reason that they'll give out. It's no longer part of my business whichever they do it every time we gamble. As for myself, I know that I am doing it for both, if I win then that's the fun that I am looking for. But if I lose, then I'll take that as a loss and it's a real one that I shall move on later. With sincerity or none, that won't be a big thing to be bothered with because we can gamble for every reason that we can think of. Those who are complaining about their losses are those set of people who don’t gamble for fun; they gamble to make money. And when someone is able to make money, they will always complain when they lose money because they are always gambling with what they can’t afford to lose. So, anyone who gambles for fun will hardly complain about their losses.I have been gambling for fun, and despite experiencing losses, I hardly complain. I always gamble with money I can afford to lose. Sometimes, even money that someone can afford to lose comes with some pain, but not the kind of pain that will lead to complaining to people.

I have been gambling, and even some of my close people don’t even know that I am gambling. The reason is because the money I always use is money that, even if it is lost, will not pain me. So just know that not everyone is gambling for fun; some are gambling to make money. Some people even claim that it is working out for them.

I admire your honesty; most people don't like to admit their true motives for gambling.
Your point aligns with my own because I also believe that many people start gambling for fun, then their perspective changes, and they begin chasing wins and losses. Something develops within them (almost like an addiction) that makes it impossible for them to stop.

Yes, this is the system gambling is built on: it pushes you towards pleasure, excitement, and addiction, making it impossible to give up playing despite all the losses. This works perfectly in the casinos' favor.

Basically, I think that we gamble only for entertainment and fun, most people are interested in gambling to be happy within themselves. However, in the current situation, we are seeing a completely different and negative effect where people are interested in gambling and they become addicted. Basically, these things are very important, self-discipline and self-control and not being serious in gambling. But we are constantly seeing that those who gamble nowadays play to earn money, due to which they gradually become attracted to gambling and at some point they cannot come back from it. I think gambling is good for a short time but playing constantly is not good at all and it will not be good for fun either, playing two or three times a week is normal but constantly is abnormal. So you have to keep yourself in maximum control while gambling otherwise it can cause a lot of damage. In every case, we have to act correctly, these things are very important in gambling.

When a player has choose the path of  greed by seeing it as a permanent source of living then that's where the whole problems lies and the outcome of such act isn't always pleasant to the defaulters perhaps instigate addiction that will later bring doom and pain at the end.

However, i know it's a thing of joy even as we are gambling then along the line winning comes but lets it not be your key target of gambling if not you will end up chasing mere fantasy that wouldn't end well with you if you persist. If a gambler claims he's gambling for fun then their are some level of things he have to cut off to maintain his stand in the game.

Yes, there is a form of self-deception for some people who gamble just to protect themselves even though they are looking for a jackpot there, using pleasure as an excuse, and when they lose they scream and chase what they have lost in the casino, maybe most people can be said to be like that, who are initially looking for fun, they get lost in emotions to chase their losses because they are playing too much, therefore when they lose they complain about their losses, their gambling intentions must be corrected otherwise an addiction will be born which is very dangerous for that person.

Sometimes I gamble inconsistently with my initial or first intention to gamble, every time I gamble, sometimes I want to win to double my money, or just look for fun because I feel bored, but why I remain safe is because I have limits on every gambling budget that I will do until today.

I don't know the exact reason, but I think the reason that many people can't hide is for money or victory. I myself gamble with limits and discipline, but that doesn't hide the fact that I want to win, it's just that I can keep within my limits. Some people gamble for entertainment, and I believe that, they also gamble with limits and do it wisely, but I don't think that means they don't want to win.
