Sherman kept pushing on whether the government could step in, force banks to buy $BTC, or use taxpayer money.
Bessent’s answer was basically: no authority, no mechanism, no bailout.
And then the irony -- the U.S. held seized #Bitcoin anyway... and it worked.
Can we no say that trump controls bitcoin?
What are your thoughts??...

I’d frame it like this:

Government holding seized Bitcoin doesn’t mean it *controls* Bitcoin. It just means law enforcement ended up with BTC through criminal seizures, similar to confiscated cash or property. Bitcoin itself still runs on a decentralized network — no single government, company, or individual can change its rules or force the network to act.

Even if the U.S. holds a large amount, it’s still only a fraction of total supply, and ownership doesn’t equal control over the protocol. Markets can react to government sales or policies, but that’s influence, not control.

So the irony is real — Bitcoin was designed to avoid centralized control, yet governments now hold some of it — but that’s different from saying any president or country *controls* Bitcoin.

In short: governments can influence markets and regulation, but they don’t control the network itself.

yea defo trump control bitcoin his actions show us this over and over. when trump throw a fits the global world gets scared and the price of bit coin drops. but majority of the time trump is all talk and threats and i think people now have had enough of it. this guy is unstable and bored with life leading him to causing trouble which always has an impact on bitcoin. look at the price of bitcoin today and look at trumps actions today, tells us everything we need to know

lol no @Xxmodded you're just talking out your ass
no single person controls bitcoin
the network doesn't give a damn about trump or biden or anyone else
if the price dips when some politician farts it's market sentiment reacting to macro events or some fud not because they magically push a button that controls btc
that's not how any of this works

governments holding seized coins is just like them holding any other asset they confiscated it doesn't give them control over the protocol it just means they're now a big holder
they can sell it sure and that affects price short term but control the entire thing never gonna happen
the whole point of bitcoin is nobody controls it
wake up

na thats is a stretch tbh. just cause the gov held some seized btc dont mean Trump or anyone controls bitcoin. btc don’t answer to presidents banks or vibes it just runs on code. whole point is its outside that kinda power thankfully people love the irony but control thats not really how it works

Bitcoin doesn't need a bailout, because government will see that it is shut down.
