Does drinking while gambling affect you the same online vs in physical casinos?

I’m asking this because I’ve experienced this before in a real casino. I got really drunk, became too aggressive, went up for a while, but in the end I still lost because I was making stupid decisions.

Looking back, it was obvious. Alcohol + gambling + emotions = bad combo. Now I’m curious about online casinos. I haven’t really tried gambling online while drunk, so I’m wondering if it has the same effect, or if being at home and on your phone/PC makes it different.

Yes, still the same in my case, the effects of alcohol will be clouded regardless of you playing in landbase o playing online. I haven't drunk alone though, so with me sitting with friends who are also playing and then having fun drinking, we make stupid decisions.

Like increasing our base bet, in the beginning when we are playing and just starting our drinking spree, we will just bet with small size. But as we got drunk then our decisions our clouded and just like you, we become aggressive and betting bigger size specially with slots or blackjack or roulette.

So just the same result, we are losing money, but having your friends and drinking, it's never a dull moment.

We can decide on how we want to drink the same way we also have our own decision to how we should gamble, this is freedom we have in doing things, but many are taking all these for granting and abuse the privileges, because they don't seem to understand the clarity that in anything, there comes a good and bad side of it, but we have to decide in which path to take and allow to be our experience.

There's no difference; it has the same effect. Anything that you do under the influence of alcohol will go wrong, especially in gambling, where even though it's a game of luck, you still have to control your bankroll.

In fact, I have a friend who already won a huge amount but keeps playing because he overlooks his winnings in his dashboard. He just realized the day after, when he was sober, and he regrets it.

Whether it is an onlinge gambling engagement or offline gambling engagement, the result will be the same because it deals about the person's behavior when they are drunk and emotional while engaging in gambling.

As I stated, I do not think that there will be a difference.  What we act offline when drunk and emotional will have a high chance of doing the same when engaging in gambling online.

I choose not to gamble when I want to get drunk. I drink with friends, and although we usually also access online gambling, I avoid it. When you’re too drunk, you can’t control yourself or make the right decisions in gambling. I think the situation is the same for both online and physical casinos. Although the temptation to keep playing actually feels stronger in physical casinos. But when it comes to control and emotions, I think it’s the same when you’re drunk.

That is true, even without the influence of alcohol, many gamblers struggle to control their emotions, so one can imagine what would happen if someone gambles while intoxicated. It is clear that gambling and alcohol are a dangerous combination, as they can lead anyone to the brink of ruin much faster than expected. Whether you gamble in a land-based casino or online, I think it makes no difference when you are gambling while drunk.

To be honest I've never gambled while drunk but my thought is that when the copula of alcohol and emotions are combined, people are usually not themselves and decisions are made on the spur of the moment rather than on logic, I think online is a little bit different, because there's no lights, there's no noise, there's no pressure like in the casino. So it can be easier to stop but there's another side to it, playing at home means no one is watching you, so it could be a little late to hit you when you're wasting time or money. For me it's not the place it's the state of mind, If at any point in the day offline or online you are not clear headed, you are at risk of losing control, So I always say to myself, it's not a good idea to do something when your decision making ability is not fully in place.

Drinking and gambling is not a good practice even when you are a professional at it. When you want to drink, it is better you drink to your satisfaction and also reasonably so that it does not make you drunk. It is very easy for someone become an addict to drinking and it is not something that should be emulated. It will become a disaster for gamblers that like drinking and playing bets even if drinking is going to give them the morale, it is not really advisable because some people can become toxic and violent in most cases when they are drunk.

Drinking and gambling is really crazy because there is no way you can make a good prediction because you are completely drunk at that time. Although gambling at that time is very good because the more risk you take at that time, the more fun you will have. I once drank and gambled online but I was not completely drunk. But I must say that my luck was very good that day. I drank and gambled and I won a good amount, later I bought alcohol again with the money from that winning and enjoyed the time while completely drunk. But you should never do that. Alcohol + gambling + emotion is a really bad combo that will never be good for anyone.

When you're drunk, and the alcohol in your body is beyond the right amount for you to still think clearly, then everything you do will go wrong, as your mind and body lack coordination to do things right, and your mind is clouded to make the right decision, its the same whether you play online or offline because you will use your mind and body coordination to bet.

From what I’ve seen, it doesn’t really matter whether it’s a big name casino or just some random online site. Once alcohol kicks in, your discipline fades and you start playing on impulse. Being at home feels more private, so you might think you’re in control, but that comfort can quietly make you bet more than you planned. In the end, it’s not about the casino’s name, it’s about how clear your mind is when you’re playing.

I would think that all the lights and noise would make the alcohol high more disorienting and might contribute to a greater headache in the morning after but then again you
can achieve the same thing at home with an online casino.

If you got drunk, you may becomes too aggressive easily. If you are gamble while drunk, you will not aware about spending the money. You also don't know how much money you risks because you can't thinks clear. Alcohol + gambling + emotions = bad combinations for  you to lose the money fast.

You don't have to try if you are not ready with the lose. You can see what happens to those who drunk and the effect if they got drunk and lose control the same time. That is double impact for them but they will not realize it as they can't see it clearly. If you drunk, you will not easy to stops gambling or other things but you want to keep doing as you are difficult to feels satisfy.

Drinking is for pleasure purpose, that is why its not bad to drink while gambling, be it on physical or online casino, but too much of everything is bad, we should avoid taking it to the stage of being addicted or get drunk, because by then, we are already under influence, which may affect how we are going to play our bet or gamble in general, you need to see how some people can misbehave when found drunk.

Drinking while gambling is not bad, but I would prefer not to drink at all if I'm gambling because the chances of that drink getting into me are on the high side. What's certain is that you shouldn't combine these things. I've also played drunk, and more than once, the outcome is always predictable:zero balance. When we're drunk, we have a poor sense of boundaries, and it seems like luck is only on our side, but that's far from true. How many times have we done stupid things while drunk? The same goes for games its not worth it, that's for sure.

Some of you've talked about the lights etc in physical casinos, which may boost the hypnotic state triggered by the alcohol, but I don't think this is exclusive or land based casinos, because to my knowledge interfaces of online platforms have the same potential to deeply catch your attention.

As per alcohol per se, in my own experience, drinking only a little bit while gambling leads you to a state of "flow" which won't make you more successful, but makes the experience more pleasurable. But in general I agree with most other members who posted before me that, in terms of results, alcohol and gambling are a bad combination.

The effect would probably be the same, or maybe even worse, because you are online, you can deposit more after you lose your bankroll. It's not a good idea to drink alcohol or get drunk while playing. Because even without the influence of alcohol, once greed or frustration kicks in, you make stupid decisions and become aggressive. What more if you are drunk, you wake up sober, only to see your savings gone down the drain and you forget what you've done yesterday.
