US sentences fugitive to 20 years over $73 million crypto scam

The reason I created this topic is because I am surprised that some people will still be falling for big butchering scam. We have seen many of the scam on this forum which we always report and they are deleted, but scammers go to many other sites to try their luck and it worked for them. I hope people will learn from this.

People should be very careful of people on social media, dating platforms, and some trading websites which are just spoofed trading platforms. This scam are not new but people continue to be victims.

The co-conspirators are many, but eight of them have pleaded guilty.

The main person behind the scam has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

People are still falling victim and this is often due to the lack of experience and the haste shown by many newcomers which makes them easy targets for fraud. Therefore, it is logical that the number of victims and the amount of losses continue to increase over time.

There are thousands of scammers like the one mentioned above who was sentenced to prison while many others have managed to hide and escape prosecution.

Anyone who wants to stay safe should not chasing exaggerated promises, conduct proper research, deal only with reputable platforms, and stay away from strangers who initiate contact without any prior relationship.
