I curious to know what people think the best bitcoin wallet is for normal people to use.

I usually believe best is usually subjective Based on different needs.
I would say Electrum and Blue wallet
Well they both open source
Support Bitcoin only
Non custodial
Allow Coin Control (electrum desktop)
Blue wallet for mobile mainly since iPhone don't have electrum
And electrum for desktop.

For privacy, Bitcoin Core. But it requires huge amount of data.
For desktop: Electrum and Sparrow. I like Cake also but I prefer Electrum and Sparrow as Cake is losing the focus for bitcoin and focus more now on altcoins.
For mobile: Bluewallet, Electrum, Unstoppable and Cake. I have the same complaint for Cake here also.
Hardware wallet: Foundation Passport. Trezor for multiple coins.


For desktop and mobile, Blockstream Green is also not bad.

The wallets among them that do not support fee of less than 1 sat/vbyte, I will later exclude them but not on this post. It will be when we are discussing about this kind of topic next time.

ever since I have known Bitcoin there is no wallet that has been referred to as best wallet other than electrum wallet, even though there might be other preferences yet personally I still believe that because of the high number of recommendations that I have seen on electrum wallet I believe it is still going to be the best wallet no matter what until there is another wallet that will beat it. there are other wallet that works close to it like the user above mentioned sparrow wallet.

Favorite Bitcoin wallet , then I will choose Electrum.
Other wallets that I’ve tried and would recommend are : Core , Sparrow, BlueWallet , Cake wallet (has the Bitcoin only option)

Electrum wallet @ system while blue wallet on iPhone
Reason: both are non custodial and are open source wallets. With a nice interface and easy navigation.
I don’t use bitcoin core but couple of my friends use it and they said it’s really nice as well.

My top 2 are Electrum and Blue wallet. Both are open source and support multi-signature and watch-wallet feature. For hodling crypto, I prefer Unstoppable wallet, it’s an open source non-custodial wallet.

Electrum has always been the best choice.

Very light weight and has been using it since I've started learning about Bitcoin. It's never gone out of the suggestions.

It's okay to explore with some other wallets but, once you get used to it, you'll always have that part of your coins where you want to keep there while you're waiting for it to be transferred sold or being hold for a while.

For Bitcoin wallet, I've been using Electrum since 2017 and yeah nothing can compares to the simplicity of it and what more is that the developers are active in maintaining it and that's the important thing it could have as it maintains the integrity and security of the wallet.

For long now have been using Electrum wallet and I never had any issues till date and I am using peacefully without hack.. I don't know of others and I think you can also check out blue wallet something like, I have never used that wallet so I can't guaranteed of how trusted the wallet could be and even when I downloaded which was ref to me by a friend I never trust it so I had to switch over to Electrum wallet that I am used to, again it's an open source.

A best Bitcion wallet is an individual and personalized choice, it's not the same for everyone with different knowledge, skills, experience and personality. A best wallet for me might possibly is not a best wallet for your or the others.

I say it depends on the person, there is no solution that fits everyone.

Some people do indeed have trouble using bitcoin the way it was meant to be used. They are too used to the traditional banking system where they don't do much themselves. Although it is not a good option but for these people custodial wallets like Coinbase is the best solution. Maybe they can start this way and then move on to an actual bitcoin wallet like Electrum where they have full control, but the best approach is to start there.

For others who seek financial sovereignty and want to have control themselves, then the two best options are:
- Bitcoin Core if they are seeking maximum privacy and don't mind dedicating the resources to sync and have a full node
- Electrum if they want the easiest and quickest way to start sending and receiving bitcoin with a good security. And of course if they are looking for certain features like being able to backup their wallets using a seed phrase.

With Electrum wallet, they will have a light SPV wallet to store bitcoins, broadcast transactions with Coin control, fee rate control and more like with Tor for better privacy. They also can use multisig wallets with Electrum software but there are things for better practice in security and privacy.

Actually, when it comes to the best wallet and comfort, it all depends on each individual. Until now, I still use Electrum because in my opinion, it is one of the most popular and recommended Bitcoin wallets. I have tried Sparrow Wallet which performs almost the same as Electrum, this wallet is also often recommended as a good alternative. Although there are several highly recommended Bitcoin wallets including Zengo, Trust Wallet, and Ledger Nano X, Electrum is still one of the best wallets in my opinion because it supports advanced features such as multi-signature and cold storage, making it a favorite choice for many users.

Electrum, because it's the first crypto wallet I've ever used. Why do I like this one? Because I haven't tried any others due to laziness. I'm generally happy with electrum and it's perfectly adequate for my needs. Why change something that already works well?

As for hardware wallets, I'm happy with both ledger and trezor when it comes to hardware. But I don't trust ledger due to troubles because of manufacturer and a lack of trustworthiness. Therefore, I can only trust trezor 100%. Again, due to laziness, I haven't tried any others, and trezor is perfectly capable of performing basic tasks. So why look for anything else?

Normal people? I assume you mean people with no too large quantity of bitcoin and still not too very small. Because for me the amount of bitcoin you own should also determine the type of bitcoin wallet you should be using to have custody of your coins. I have being fond with using electrum wallet for years now and I really haven't had any issues with it.

It's friendly and simple to use without rigorous processes. Newbies would really like it. But if you have a large Bitcoin in quantity you should go for a hardware wallet like trezor and ledger.

heard lots of on forums and not only them about the ledgers and their features (that sometimes go against the self-custody the wallet is supposed to give)..never gave trezor a chance, but i heard they've got some air-gapped wallets

The Trezor company that I know doesn't provide an airgap wallet. They are just like other cold storage but are not like airgap wallet. The new release safe 7 doesn't need connection with USB cable but still need Bluetooth to be able to make safe connections with a mobile device or personal computer. If this safe 7 is what you regard as airgap wallet, then it's not. Airgap wallet never make connection with any internet of any sort, not even Bluetooth.

If you are looking for an airgap wallet, go for foundation passport, they are one of the best selling airgap wall but they are not cheap like the other cold storage wallet. However, using Trezor doesn't make it worth nothing, in fact it's one of the best selling cold storage wallet with less problem like Legder who had alot of data bridge. If you see a wallet scam attempt, it's most often Leger impersonators because they know how weak everything about the wallet structure.
