heard lots of on forums and not only them about the ledgers and their features (that sometimes go against the self-custody the wallet is supposed to give)..never gave trezor a chance, but i heard they've got some air-gapped wallets

The Trezor company that I know doesn't provide an airgap wallet. They are just like other cold storage but are not like airgap wallet. The new release safe 7 doesn't need connection with USB cable but still need Bluetooth to be able to make safe connections with a mobile device or personal computer. If this safe 7 is what you regard as airgap wallet, then it's not. Airgap wallet never make connection with any internet of any sort, not even Bluetooth.

If you are looking for an airgap wallet, go for foundation passport, they are one of the best selling airgap wall but they are not cheap like the other cold storage wallet. However, using Trezor doesn't make it worth nothing, in fact it's one of the best selling cold storage wallet with less problem like Legder who had alot of data bridge. If you see a wallet scam attempt, it's most often Leger impersonators because they know how weak everything about the wallet structure.

yep, it was my bad, i did a bit of research and i probably just mismatched the data in my mind, it was another wallet and not trezor, though i don't remember which one, thank you for clarifying.

and thank you for your input on the wallets.. i too think that usual cold storage wallets (even without the air gap ) would be enough if you properly use it and not fall for traps set by those wanting to exploit you and your funds.

I myself have been using the Electrum wallet for many years, this wallet shows a simplicity that is suitable for all groups. The easy setup to use my own server makes me want to keep using it.
In addition to being lightweight and uncomplicated, the display also focuses on functions without many confusing features. For me, who is more concerned about security and full control over assets, Electrum feels like a good fit.

We can set our own fees, choose a server and even use a hardware wallet if we want to be extra secure.
So far, the performance has also been stable, there are rarely any significant obstacles. So even though many new wallets have sprung up with a more modern look, I still feel comfortable and confident in using Electrum until now.

i also don't see what the new wallets can give so that Electrum becomes obsolete Smiley only if it's something reaallly specific you need.

Depending on who you ask, people's answers may vary on this. Personally, I would say that the best Bitcoin wallet to use is Blue Wallet, it is a non-custodial wallet that is quite light and you can use it on Android and iPhone, and even on your desktop (MacOS). It basically has all the important features you need and it's so user-friendly, I think even people who are just starting out can use it straight away without any confusion.

I have used both Electrum and Blue Wallet, and I'm still making use of both, and I don't see much difference between them aside from the fact that Blue Wallet is iOS compatible and Electrum doesn't have any iOS version, but from what I have seen from those around me, they consider Blue Wallet to be more user-friendly for them, and I don't see what they find hard in terms of using Electrum that made them choose Blue Wallet over it.

Electrum wallet is available for Android on mobile too.

With Electrum wallet, you can set up your single signature wallet or multisig wallet.

You must know which hardware wallets are open source and good to use, then buy hardware wallets rightly too.
