I don’t think the address has been published. The letter sent to TMZ hasn’t been confirmed as being 100% authentic. They don’t want people sending money to a scammer’s address if it is fake. Even if it’s real, they wouldn’t give the kidnapper free publicity to make money from people wanting to help.
If Bitcoin has been sent, it is probably in coordination with law enforcement. The people demanding the ransom will eventually be discovered if they are as bad as the Ledger co-founder’s kidnappers at covering their tracks. No matter what choices they make, it is going to be difficult for them to get away with this.

There have been fake ransom requests from individuals who want to take advantage of and profit from this situation. A man was arrested for using an app to create a fake phone to text the family of Nancy Guthrie asking for ransom in Bitcoin. Derrick Callella has confessed to the crime and will be charged accordingly. Kidnapping and ransom payment is a sensitive situation that is handled secretly by law enforcement agencies since any error can lead to loss of life. Therefore, I am not sure that the BTC wallet reported to have experienced some activity is connected to the real kidnapper.

Assuming that I am a criminal or internet fraudster, this is a golden opportunity especially if I am not from the united States of America, I can easily create some link with encouraging words to get this victim released.
People like saving lives, once they hear that this old woman is needing their help they will start to contribute, don't even give an excuse that no one will fall for this, it is 2026 and people are still falling for romance scams around the world, even fake gofundme for motherless children are been used to scam people, it is very possible. People who will never learn will never learn and people who don't care about doing their own research first will never care about doing any research.

The most annoying one is those who don't bother to research, quote some random podcast, and then assume everything else. When someone confronted them with facts, they just blamed someone else or got really aggressive about it. For an urgent case like this, it's always better to wait for investigators to finish their work properly, or at least until we have more confirmation. This makes me recall a scam targeting my family where they sent fake banking notices demanding repayment of a loan we never took out.

The person has been released already based on that links. So he/she could be just a person of interest, but nothing more. As for the TMZ news, it could be just a clickbait as there are no mentions of a Bitcoin address. And if ever the criminals uses a Bitcoin address, that is bad for that criminals are for sure he will be track and every movement of that address will have someone from the authorities to find that individual/s.

I advice the matter of the listed BTC address listed by the kidnappers of Nancy Guthrie be well invested because In some scenario it will be possible that the kidnappers might use someone's BTC address to prevent being caught by the authorities, they do that to prevent being traced to or caught. There is a similar case around me of a business man operating a Point of Service (P O S) business, the man was approached by a random person who asked of his account details that someone wants to send a huge sum of money to him and his account can't receive such an amount so they bargained and the account was sent to the person and the money was received and cash being given to the person not knowing that the man's account was being used to receive a ransom by kidnappers but unknown to the Point of Service (P O S) man. After some weeks the man was arrested for alleged kidnapping and that was how he was penalised for an offence he didn't commit. So I think possibly the wallet that was see might not actually belong to the kidnappers..

If there is a quick way to filter 6 Million Dollar Transactions between the day the ransom note was received and the day they announced the 'activity', by which they mean INCOMING Bitcoin then you would have a few possible Addresses. Unless they sent 6 Million Dollars in batches, which may actually make it easier to find the Address that received a total of around 6 Million in between these days.
I do not know how easy this is however. And I do not know how this would help you or the case in any way. I am assuming the authorities are already aware of the Address the payment is being requested to.

I had same thought as you, the TMZ news could likely be a click bait indeed because I don't understand how the platform will come up with such news as this and don't provide the address in question for readers verification, so that readers will verify and know of a truth that there is activity in the address. And speaking of authorities already monitoring the said address, that's true for sure but I am wondering, if the criminals who manage the address and the funds in it decide to move the funds by using privacy focused services, how the authorities still be able to trace where the funds was moved to? The answer is likely "no" and I think this is one of the disadvantages of all of this privacy focused services that were banned from advertising on this forum.
