They'll gamble not after a big loss, but after they have nothing anymore in their pockets or they can't get do anything to have the money that they need to use for gambling. If they're winning, they will feel the adrenaline rush and will say "I need to gamble more because it's my day" and when they lose, they'll say "I need to recover my losses because that money is important for me." or the like, but you get my point. The thing is, some people just don't know how to be contented with what they have. This isn't applicable to gambling only, but in real life.
