Canadian school shooting (Our last one was in 2016)

An 18 year old woman (born as a male) with a long history of police attention killed herself as soon as she saw the police storming the building.    It looks like the reason will eventually come out as revenge, as she was bullied during her transition.

The RCMP are heros; they did not wait - they charged in fast or many dozens more could have been injured.   

I did a few IT projects in Tumbler Mill as well as the nearby coal mines in Chetwynd, BC.   Beautiful in the summer, but brutally cold in the winter.

What's with the school shootings in some countries, though? Yes, it's unfortunate bullying happens in schools around the world, and I tend to notice a specific pattern mostly in some states in the US and now Canada (I hope this is an isolated incident).

Could it be due to laws regarding arms?

The craziest part about this is watching the Canadian law enforcement correct people and say that this crazy dude who killed a bunch of kids was a woman. He wasn’t a woman. He was a man and a murderer. What a joke the entire country of Canada is. China can have them.

Bullying is not enough reason to take your life. People need to learn how to encourage themselves regardless of what people say. If they cant ecnourage themselve, speaking to someone who can handle the situation.

I know what it means to be bullied, but mass shootings and sucicide is too extreme for an 18-year-old.

I know a country where this situation would have escalated due to reluctancy, but I wont mention name.

Huge respect to the Canadian heroes. They have proven that every life is as important as the other. Regardless of status.

It definitely is. The education system and schools in different countries have different problems. How in South Korea, the bullying cases are insane. It just so happens that in the US, school shootings are quite common.

This kind of tragic are just shocking to read about, especially in a country like Canada where peaceful co-existence has been one of the country’s greatest treasures!, many people must be grieving because according to what is circulating on the internet, both students and teachers were unfortunately killed and some got severe injuries during the attack. The only good thing within the sad event is that the suspected shooter died on the scene as well, But I am sure there will be large scale investigation in order to get what motivated such a despicable act.

I think I know just the perfect country to mention but I believe you have your reasons so I won't mention it's name either. A country where youths focus more on their social media feeds than an accident victim that needs urgent medical attention. I just hope people who are silently dieing inside maybe because of depression could find the strength to speak up and open up to people around them.

One thing I noticed about the western society is the ease at which everybody can easily own a rifle. From the part of world where I come from, a full community can have an adult men that haven seen a rifle before, not to talk about how to operate it. We keep guns far away from our immediate society. there is an adage in my local Parlance that says, "if a snake doesn't do what makes people call him a snake, children will play with it while thinking it's a toy". I feel the guns laws in western society needs to be stifled.

Everyone weren't actually bullied except for the fact that you're being deprived of your rights over regulatory policies.
Some out of being self centered not getting what they b want for themselves even without being reasonable of its effects towards others may also feel bullied.
Due to the sarcastic sentimental immunes of humans, we must always feel cheated in one way or the other. Maybe I should agree with you though.
Nevertheless, it's better to see the end than taken judgement in a half journey over hopelessness and then think cutting your life short will make a better different. She MAY have still lived.

Canada is considered quite different from the US in this regard, where guns can only be purchased with ID (legally), or illegally on the streets. In the EU, each country has its own laws regarding firearms, but these laws are very strict in most countries.

If I want to own a firearm, I must first submit an application to the police, then undergo a psychological and physical examination, and then the police visit my neighbors/friends and question them to see if I am a problematic person. If such a law existed in most countries of the world, it would save a lot of people - but the insane right to own and carry weapons is something that has never been and will never be logical to us in the EU.

Your society has been modernized and protected for generations now.  Settlers moving to the west needed rifles for protection.

I don't know how he got such impression. Gun laws in USA and in Europe is like 2 different worlds. Here in Europe it's not easy to get permission for gun. And even if you have, you can't carry your gun everywhere like it would your wallet or phone. Even cops in UK patrol without guns (what is nonsense IMO).
Offcourse there is always to bypass system by giving bribe, especially if it's more corrupted country. When it comes to USA, I'm wondering how much % of crimes is made using guns which were obtained in legal and in illegal ways.

It says something about your values, when someone is killing bunch of kids isn't the craziest thing what happened here. But the fact that someone, who identifies herself as a woman is recognized as a woman is.

I am getting a strong sense that killing bunch of kids isn't as a big deal to you if you choose to cherry pick this detail?

Who you are in your core isn't a choice. Choosing to be kind or not is.

Call me crazy, but when people are treated with kindness and respect when they are alive, they are less likely to mentally break down and go on killing spree later on.

Protection from whom? People who have lived there for thousands of years and whose land was taken away by these same weapons. The question arises again, why do you need so many weapons today - who are you protecting yourself from by killing each other like in the wild west?

I wish that girl felt as if she had a place of belonging in the world but shooting children is...
