What you should do when the market drops a lot and the price of Bitcoin is noticeable dropped significantly is the latter of what you've said. And yes, that's to buy Bitcoin itself. Listen, I've learned that these weak altcoins won't do you good, specifically the unknown coins. Sometimes when the price of BTC drops, some investor or big whales that hold some huge liquidity of some altcoins or meme coins use that opportunity to pull out their profits, and the price of such coin goes down stylishly and never to come back up. If they use the bearish trend of the market to take their profits, then it won't look like a scam to those interested in buying the coin.

So, not every coins is worth buying when the price drops.

Still, we have to be more careful about such because they may fall massively at any time, also it is not about investing in a random coin or token, we must ensure that we are sure of their utility features and they can stand the rigour of market volatility especially when there is a bear market.

I am not buying when price drops in the start of the bear run, because it can still drop -%70 and another -%90 after that. I rather look for signs in the market when coins with similar level of market cap are getting signs of life again.

Also i would seriously never advice anyone (at least my fiends) buying "weaker" coins, or altcoins in general.

If i see something that i believe to have strong future, i still not "advice" buying it. At least not anymore and not my friends. If the person who asks my advice is a friend, i just say what i am seeing in charts, and what i am putting my money in and how much. I will however say that they should only expect to lose all their money.

I see many tokens that have good potential starting to continue to fall even until now reaching the lowest point, it's just that because it's still a bearish phase there is still a possibility of continuing to fall --- while the lowest point does not know unless you believe it yourself and buy it directly.

Everyone know ltcoin are much more volatile than Bitcoin, So when Bitcoin stumble a little most of the alts fall flat on their face. And if there is no momentum or project strength within the coin they never return to their previous price

As you know, more than 60% of the entire crypto market cap is now occupied by Bitcoin. So, whenever Bitcoin dominance increases, it is understood that most crypto hodler is selling altcoins and taking refuge in Bitcoin to avoid risk. I have never subscribed or be a fan of buying the altcoins when BTC have a sudden downward trend in price, the opportunity might look harmless at first but then you will realize that most of this altcoin are just weak to begin with because they drop even harder in price and some might not recover even if BTC have a positive bounce back. So buying weak coins in bear market or when price move downward is very risky. I will just advice if someone has the capital, he or she should just buy BTC itself, it is safer and it eventually recovers.
