I once saw a video about someone who had to sell pens.
I vaguely remember it, but what I think is important is that we must have our own methods, which sometimes have to be out of the box in order to attract other people and interest in the products we market.

The art of marketing is truly essential.

Whether it's a business or an individual, they must think about marketing strategies, but not everyone can do it.

What I've learned from the best marketers is that they're not actually selling you the product. But the feeling and emotion that you're tackling when you're being sold by an agent.

When you feel appreciated by the salesperson, you're already feeling the rapport that they have built with you.

And that makes you feel obligated to purchase what they're selling and you're like hypnotized that because they're so good in complimenting you, they'll not take no for an answer and so as you.

Buying and selling just revolves spotting a problem and then providing a solution to that problem... I would sell a pen to you by making you need the pen not because it writes but because getting this particular pen im offering can help you write better. I will let you know how important it is to have a pen by my brand and what kind of value comes from having a branded pen. Apart from this, there is another question and that is why should I buy your pen when there are many other pens in the market? That is when your product basically competes with other products, then you have to present such aspects of your product in front of them that are not applicable to other products. In other words, marketing is a thing where the product you are promoting always has to have a good reputation or the ability to have a good reputation.

Selling products is easy if you know your market. It's easy to sell a pen if you happen to sell it in school premises, than selling it in a hospital, the art of marketing is finding the best feature of your product and finding the right market for that product.

What I learned from selling, from one of the MLM I've joined, is to know the product, and having a prospect, with these two, convincing your prospect will be easy, because you cannot sell a pen to a guy who does not need a pen.

This is the most important part of the marketing process that is carried out and generally it will be successful if someone has a productive marketing target from the offering process that is created. I simplify the process where when we are asked to market a pen, the first step we need to find. Who needs pens and where is the market? When we know the market clearly, this is where we will try to take several approaches so that the pen can be sold at the given target. Everyone has needs and when we target the market well, we will understand that the environment needs the products we offer and only then will we understand the level of marketing effectiveness based on studies in knowing the market.

The three points you made in your post are important but I think the "Need Creation" aspect could have been indicated more strongly. Sometimes the customer does not even realize they need a solution to a problem so a good salesperson's job is to explain that problem to them. So when selling a pen you need to first find out what they will be writing for and how often they will use it and whether they are unhappy with their current pen. These questions can be real game changers.

Yes, there is a quality difference that makes a product premium but with the brand value the prices are so inflated that people are paying like 10x of the manufacturing cost just because it is from a premium brand. Most of the premium products also manufactured in the same place as others but they will be moved to another country where they will be packgazing the unit that will makes it better than others but it doesn't really worth the price.

Having a product is one thing, selling it to the desired customer is another thing. Employers are ok if you sell the product to anyone bybit imgaine you sell it to their desired custome,r what advantage it will bring for them. Every comply, or business has a desired company. The pen question did not concern pens. You know this already. It is a challenge of how well you know need vs want. And more to the point, are you able to produce the second one when you act to serve the first.

Their three pillars (purpose, prestige, quality) they work. They're clean. Only they lack the most uncomfortable piece. Good marketing does not justify value, it breeds a bit of but not very serious anxiety about the lack of the thing. Not manipulation exactly. More like orientation. You are making someone draw his or her attention to a hole that he or she was not aware of until you came.

They ask that question because in the art of marketing the product is not as important as the person selling it, you might not need a pen but someone who has the skill can make you actually buy that pen and that is what they are trying to get when they ask you to sell them the pen, they want to see how well you understand value creation, persuasion, and positioning it is very less about the pen itself and more about how you identify a need and communicate benefits and then close the conversation. Ultimately, they’re testing your ability to influence decisions and turn an ordinary object into something desirable.

You just said it all and I really don't have much to contribute. When an employee ask you to sell him a pen, he is trying to see your qualities of marketing,  so you have to show him this qualities, like giving the person reasons to buy the product , persuation skill, influence decisions and more. Once you can show that you can do it then you are good to go.

You can't sell the pen to everyone . You need to understand who is your targeted customer. If you're just blindly going to sell your pen to everyone the time and resource you will spent will never be your worth spending the time.

Right now sell me the pen is the biggest Fraud to me. No matter how's hard you try you cant sell the pen if your opponent had made the oath not buying the pen from you.

Marketing has been one of those things that I never fully understood. Some people are great at it and I respect them, but for me it is the worst part of a business.

Normally making a product isn't that tough, having a business idea is the easiest thing in the world, you could think that you have the best idea in the world and if only someone helped you make it, you would be rich. That's not the case, you can have the greatest product but without proper marketing it would not make any money at all.

Effective marketing sometimes may not really depend on all the convincing and how you get the customer to make a choice by choosing your product over the others but how efficient and effective is the product, does using the product helps in the selling? The quality of the product is it such that will make the customer see credibility in all of your adverts or would want to think you just tricked then into buying something terrible, the best sales and marketing is the one done by the product, where the product is used as a reference point by the customer as a reason to come back to patronise the product again. Not everyone can market a product effectively but every quality product can be marketed effectively either by the marketer or the product itself after a first trial.
