Yeah people will just pay whatever it gets promoted. They're looking for entertainment match to watch.

Can people be looking for anything to watch because they want to place a bet on that event? In past there were lots of sports events, but little possibilities to watch. Today, sometimes I think that matches, leagues and etc exist only because people place bets on them. Kind of bettors are so bored with regular and professional sport, that they instead would risk on betting U16 Leagues D match between two small villages. Betting was spinning around sports, now sports is spinning around betting as people are ready to bet on anything.

With those popular names most likely promoters use their popularity to earned decently, not sure about how they'll going to arrange it and how both parties will agree to the aggreement but similar to what you just said, as long as they are gaining thru the popularity fans will support and will but tickets to watch the fight, there's always people who are interested to see their idols fighting even if there's  a chance that it's a scripted fight and all for the entertainment they will continue to support.

Who is going to participate will be interested only if their contracts is in millions because they know their fame so everyone has their price tag and that is how they calculate these match potential revenue and still come up with profits. It may not be entirely scripted but the results are mostly expected because those two who is competing against will not be in the same prime to fight competitive and bring the peak watching expereince to the audience.

People don’t pay for quality. They pay for narrative. Promotion creates expectation. Expectation creates FOMO.And FOMO sells tickets, even if the product underdelivers. The real shift happens when audiences learn to separate marketing from structure. Most don’t.

The question is more whether people are stupid enough to pay for crap like this, especially when often these events are completely overhyped and under-deliver. The answer to this question is a clear yes. If people valued quality above other things, then the world wouldn't be in the mess that it currently is.

There's always like that in any sport, and you feel that you have been shortchanged. This happened when two defense-oriented fighters collide in the ring, there will be less action and more running and taunting, but sports fans will always be sports fans. You'll still go buy the hype, even though the fight is predictable.

There is no need for anyone to every buy any kind of hype, unless they are a completely average idiot. Hype is misplaced everywhere, only real assessments of the situation are appropriate.

The quality of boxing fights dropped when I saw the trend of an ex YouTuber fighting Anthony Joshua, Jake isn't a real fighter and games like that is possibly a bonus for gamblers, in the sense that from the onset people already knew he wouldn't win against a former world champion.

You're right, the credibility level dropped too much after that For me, boxing matches are great, but it needs to be like it used to be, with real rivalry and everything that comes with the sport. The most important thing should be the most exciting fights, not just fights focused on the technical aspects, because that's how fights get so boring.

Every sport is being corrupted by the idea of profit above all else. Some sports are more guilty of this than others, boxing being one of them. You are witnessing the degeneration of sports during your lives. These events are only done for 1 sole reason, money. That is it. It has nothing to do with sports at all, other than it being a means to an end.

I do not know, it is just an my hunch, but think with me... fighters with high performance have a lot to lose if they deliver a bad result because of something that was "planned" behind the scenes, meaning... they have a career and reputation to protect, right? It is more harder manipulate this kind of fight.

But players with lower level do not have much to lose and therefore they can be more easily influenced to deliver a bad performance to allow bettors to make money, and in return the "fighter" receives their part too, which is sometimes greater than winning the fight.

On one hand there's good competitive boxing like we saw in the latest Olympics. But recently there's heavy promotion for events that just end up being huge flops in terms of athletic performance.

We are in an age where a person will just pour paint over a white canvas and call themselves modern artists and people actually love these things that they do, so yes people will pay to watch anything as long as it's promoted, gets their favourite celebrity or internet influencer to promote it and you will get an even higher turnup, "if my favourite influencer like it then I have to like it as well" I don't know which is worse, that people like this exists or that the world is actually trying to encourage them.
The world has really lost a lot of it's standards.

Nah, i think you correct the anticipation and the buildup is what keeps attracting people to all these events and I wont lie they do a great job of marketing and selling it to fans and build up the anticipation even more and honestly, thats part of the fun i guess for a lot of fans, the excitement before the fight sometimes matters as much as the fight itself depending how well you tell the story and each time these events happens both venue and views are always high but i mean it is just wild how much expectation can pull people in even if the performance doesn’t always deliver which it rarely does nowadays.

An excellent marketing plan is indeed a potent force in building a thrilling environment to all fans who are craving after quality entertainment. Greater attention is usually demonstrated as a storey that is well written and it is that feature that transforms the pre-event moments into something very very memorable to all of us. Although the end product does not reflect the syrupy promises sometimes, the excitement of the fans who crowd the stadium evidences the overwhelming attraction of the anticipation. We should be thankful that this industry can control emotions of people.

Not all but some persons does because they just to keep their mind distracted from some certain issues that disturbes their them while some persons watch it just for the fun.

We are seeing in an era that whatever that's on the mainstream and what's trending, fans are going to go there no matter what the pricing is. And that's why this is also being taken as an advantage by the promoters while the trend is still hot. They want to extract all potential profits and not miss any single of it. So, sporting events that doesn't really focuses on competitions anymore are being liked by the fans because they're getting more celebrities to join them and they don't mind if they're like exhibition matches or just some show.
