The problem sometimes is, you cannot be sure of the outcome of the business even after investing so much in it. At some point when I was reading his ordeal, I wanted to say he should have used the money for a business but when I looked at the uncertainties around building a business in Nigeria, I thought I should either encourage him to continue with his investments in bitcoin, regardless of how small they are in as much as they are consistently being done. The only place I am not so comfortable in is the end goal which is to buy a house with it. Let's do this calculation, let's assume you are buying bitcoin of $20 a week and you have 520 weeks to cover, if we multiply the number of weeks and the exact amount we will have $10400, this is a very huge amount that can go a long way, this is just assumption and by then bitcoin will appreciate more than what it is now.

Since you said you are a poor investor, that means your DCA funds won't be that much, let's say presumably you use $20 per week (guessing), then within 10, I am not likely sure you would be able to build a house with it, maybe u might end up with $10k- $20k as returns. Reason is because you live in city (might be Lagos, Abuja or PH) where lands and Houses are costly. The solution I if you are able to get a stable income job, then you can increase your initial DCA amount so that it will help you in accumulating more Bitcoin, then from your remaining salary too, still having normal fiat savings, have emergency funds so that u won't be touching your Bitcoin investments to solve your personal needs.  Everything deals with Compounding sha.
