What are your hope from the day you stake your prediction, did you lose or win?

I can testify that the very first day i stake on sports betting i don't have any ideas on how to follow or predict but the fact is that i was eager to to placed a bet because i been seeing people winning severally, so i want to a friend that has been into the gambling system for so long to share the idea on how i can go with my prediction and after he thought me a little on how to predict how wining and away win or draw too, so on the first day i made up mind to predict so that i can stake and win too like him, my prediction was basically on those big big odds thinking that i will that first day, when the results came out around evening time i noticed that none of my prediction entered and i shown that my friend my prediction and immediately he saw it he laughed out loud that prediction is not base on packing of big big odds, that you can predict rightly when you know the teams capacity some time and some are also base on luck too, so i lose on the first day i stake sports betting.

The statement that I think cannot be hidden is that everyone who bets on any type of gambling certainly has one thing in common, namely hoping that their bet will win. It would be very silly if the bet they made was expected to result in a loss, and I cannot think of any reason for betting if the expectation is to lose.

Everyone expects to win but know that winning only comes unannounced but In this case, I think OP is more specific in how your first bet went, the first time you started gambling, did you experience that first timer's luck or you lost but took motivation from that lose that you are going to continue gambling until you win? I guess not many gamblers were very lucky to win their first bet.

We only win a bet when we don't expect to win it, if we are to know the actual day or time we will win out game, we will stake with a lot of money and we might also tell other gamblers to get in the same games we predict. Winning doesn't come very easy, even though you are just starting gamble for the first time and you luckily win the game don't expect other days to be the same because the next bet doesn't guarantee us any winning.

I got your point as life is gambling per se, it's hard to make the right decision and then we all know that there will be consequences later in life. So does gambling, maybe we made our first bet. And that first bet might be memorable to us because obviously that is the first time that we experience winning or losing.

So it could be either bad or good experience for us. But the thing is that gambling might have shape our lives. Perhaps later when we have a job then we might go and venture into gambling because we have the money now, got into addiction and snap out of it before it's too late.

There's a lot of life lessons to learn from the beginning when make our first bet.

I have gone through phases of disappearing, then returning to active play, disappearing again, and returning once more. After going through this pattern, I became wiser and more mindful of my losses, so that addiction no longer had room to become permanent.

If someone comes along and says gambling is something bad, I disagree, even if they say it based on their experience. I question how far they went through the phases of gambling given their economic situation at the time.
There are many positive things about gambling based on my experience. Believe it or not, and I don't mean to use this as a reference.0

I don't clearly remember whether my first gambling experience ended in victory or defeat, but what is clear is that I was interested in continuing to do it until I became addicted and experienced what I consider to be the worst point of my addiction and realized my mistake. But even so, I still gamble today, only now I am no longer addicted to it. On the other hand, I am not hypocritical about winning, which of course I hope will happen to me.

I have been gambling for a very long time, so I just can't recall how it went, but i dont think I won, what I can boldly say about gambling is that I have experience a lot of losing than winning. My worst experience happens seven years back when I gamble with what I can't afford to lose, so I fell into depression, thinking of how I can regain back the money lost, since it was a money given to me to keep. After that experience, I learnt the hard way that gambling should be done only with spare cash, like what you can afford to lose. Since then till date, I gamble responsible, unlike in the past when I did it with a money that wasn't mine

Once i made my stake in gambling, i already have the mindset that it has turned a loss, because there is nothing to be confidence about the bet coming as a win, except by luck, because i already know that the chance of losing is always much than winning a bet, so all these may not really matters a lot to me, because am already prepared for the worst, if it comes as a wining game or loss.

For starters, it's unwise the way you started gambling, and you don't do something that involves money without having the needed knowledge about the thing. In sports betting, odds could be deceptive, and though capability of the teams is contributory, it's not the sole reason to pick a side, nor the guarantee that they will win. This is why your friend added luck.  

From these, two important lessons: 1. Choose based on extensive research (no odds guessing and 2. Be careful, as nothing is certain (even if the analysis is right). This is where portfolio management is crucial.

I hope you didn't lose a huge amount on your first bet, and, I would say that this loss will be a lesson for you. Initially, everyone has the experience that the higher the odds, the more likely it is to win.
But the fact is that the odds are actually the opposite, the less likely that team is to win and the weaker the team is, and therefore the less likely that team is to win, which is why the odds are high on that team's side. However, in this case, many times people win in the case of unexpected performance when a strong team performs poorly.
However, now my suggestion to you is that when you bet on a sports match, you must first get an idea about that sport and also about those teams and identify which team is strong and which team is weak and only then stake the amount that you can afford to lose.
