I think trading is not very easy, so it's not an easy source of income for most of the people who are into trading, some might manage to make some money from trading, but that's not the majority. So I think even though it could become a source of income if it works out for someone, we can't say that it's actually a source of income because a source of income should be something where you work and then get an income after what you do, but in trading, it's not guaranteed, and instead, you can lose money if you are not very careful with it.

I also disagree with the last point where you said that trading teaches one patience and discipline, whereas I believe that these things come built-in within a person, you are born with such qualities, and you can barely actually learn these things, so if someone gets into trading and they aren't patient and disciplined by nature, their chances of succeeding in it will be very low because we all know how important these two things are, because if you don't have them, your trading will have no check and balance, and that isn't a good sign.

I don't think numbers 1 and 2 are truly achievable for many traders, at least based on my experience. Being an investor, which means holding for the long term, is more profitable if you can be patient.
Trading is only profitable during a bull run, but in a bear run, things can be very difficult. Although profits can be made, it won't be as easy as during a bull run.
I remember sold my Bitcoin capital because many loss in trading about 7 years ago, if i hold until now the profit is very big.

Trading has helped me to improve my financial knowledge and also brought about discipline and patience throughout the process. The trading market can also be seen as a very big and more suitable source of income and also helps in financial independence, but as one hasn’t benefited from that in particular, one cannot list it as the benefit one has derived from the trading market, but optimistic that overtime things will really get better.

While these are applicable to only a few percentage of the traders, we know that this isn't the case for the majority.

1. 9 out of 10 traders are losing money so if you will ask many people out there, they will not consider trading as a source of income UNLESS you're part of the 10% of traders who are making money. Unfortunately many traders are leaning towards the fact that they can make money from trading and they can treat it as their source of income that's why they're trying to trade.

Yes, there are some few traders out there that are making money through trading and have achieved financial freedom already, but majority are out there touching grass hoping that they will achieve the same as well with the help of trading.

I mean you can gain some knowledge from trading, but better to just enroll on different courses that focuses on knowledge. That might be a bit cheaper.

When you become a successful trader, that is when you have reasonable and effective knowledge about trading, the right time and area to take risks and most importantly self-control, then the advantages and disadvantages of trading are correct. But a few days ago I saw someone in this thread who could not succeed even for five years and lost a lot of money from trading. It is very common for such people to lose everything in life from trading. I am not saying that trading will not give us anything. If our knowledge, data analysis is correct, and there are effective steps to take risks, then we can expect good things from trading but we have to remember that trading is not a source of permanent income.

But when we are trading there remains no balance in between trading and our personal life. I have tried I was normie, I know I could have created that balance but I think in compared to the corporate jobs, or any jobs in which we are on hour, we can easily manage our personal life because we know, for how many hours we are not available and available for the family matters and personal joy like giving time to ourselves, I like to play games in that time or sleep haha.

I dont know.  To be honest, for every one person who hits those points you listed, there are probably a hundred people who just lost their savings trying to "day trade" their way to freedom.

Tell, I pray thee, any business making people a lot of money that's easy? No business worth it is that simple. Otherwise, if it were so, it will be saturated. Check any business people cluster and see how low the profit making opportunities are. Again, most of those who get easily burnt and their capital wiped off probably will be those who think trading is a shortcut to riches. These ones don't know there's a process to it. They go into trading without being fully equipped with set skills for it.

A regular paycheck and investing for the long term gives most people a better chance of success than trying to outsmart the market.  But if it works for you and it makes you happy, go for it!

Even this will also depend on what one is investing on. Not all investments will turn up well. Imagine those who bought Bitcoin at $126k+ last year and how they feel right now about Bitcoin as it keeps struggling below $70k.

The 1 & 2 in the list seems so unstable if you're talking about trading and for no.4 it seems we have different perspectives on how we see it. For me, what's constant is only the number 4  because it really gives you an edge on finance. And that's why I believed that it's not for everyone, there are individuals who doesn't want to have that extra stress in their lives. Maybe they are busy enough to not want to trade and just buy whenever they want on their own capacity, easy as that and then be a long term holder. But there could be those traders, speculators that loves this kind of volatility and think that they can succeed by monitoring the price and make that move. It could be thru the help of bot or they are really experience it that they are very confident that even in the worst cycle, then can still make decent profit in a month. But I do say that most of us could be leaning to be just a long term investor and buy thru DCA method to not stress ourselves.
