What happened to the young man had nothing to do with greed. He was a grieving young man who was seeking for means to distract himself from the reality of life. Unfortunately, he didn't only lose loved ones but lost a huge amount of money. Another reminder that gambling, drinking and many others are never solutions to escape from a bad experience. Their results can backfire.

The problem most people normally have with gambling is that they starts gambling without having any understanding of gambling.  They see gambling as a means of doubling their money and they end up losing everything in gambling.

Gambling is very risky which people needs to be aware of and go into gambling with caution.  In gambling going about more wins and loses can even make one to lose more , you have to get a limit and gamble with the amount that you can afford to lose.

I don't understand why people, after learning about gambling and the fact that they can lose everything, still gamble with all their money. The situation this person is in is due to his own bad decisions. Many tragic events can happen in a person's life, other ways should be found to deal with it, gambling is not a solution. Gambling addiction takes a person into a terrible state, from which it is difficult for that person to get out. Therefore, we should behave responsibly to make our lives beautiful, and resolve any sad situation with proper planning instead of emotions.

It is not too late for this guy to start all over again. He said he doesn’t have anyone left, I don’t know how he came about having more responsibility than before unless he’s living way above his means which in the story it doesn’t seems to be living an extravagant or an outside life that’ll cost him much. Now that he has the opportunity again to restart, I don’t think 30 years is much big of an age than in some years to come you won’t achieve big things that can help propel your life better. The mistake has been made, he didn’t gamble responsibly and lost all his fortunes. The end of his closest pals will weaken him but shouldn’t make it feel that’s the end for him. He can try again and this time around, he can get it better than before.

If a gambler becomes greedy and starts gambling, it won't take long for him to get into a serious financial mess. Because when someone loses at gambling, he becomes more aggressive and increases the amount of his bet. However, the gambler we are talking about here was actually a victim of circumstances and was emotionally drawn to gambling, and later it became his addiction. It was only when he lost all his money that he realized what he had done wrong and that he had no way out of this situation. Although he finally understands the dangers of gambling, time is running out because he does not have his father and good friends. At this age, he is regretting alone and blaming himself. In fact, if it becomes an excessive addiction to gambling, it will eventually lead to bad consequences. Well, if he hadn't gamble it he's probably still have some savings now when the shit of a life happens to him. It was never mentioned in the thread about his mother but I guess she's still living and that he has the right to turn things around for the better if he decide it for himself. Ending up as a drug or alcohol addict would have made more sense for someone who was trying to escape reality but instead he went towards gambling, that makes me wonder if gambling was at fault here in the first place, I mean he may have lost all that money to gambling but I doubt he was gambling to escape reality but rather to live up that reality as much as possible.

You should be careful about believing everything you read online, because there are people who like to make up stories (don't ask me why?). That being said, it is quite possible that someone can have a crash out like this and I feel for anyone who suffers such a bout of misfortune, but we all lose people in our lives eventually and you need to learn to cope with it better than this. There are a million other ways that he could have burned through that money besides gambling - drugs, women, fast cars, etc. but ultimately he made the decision to spend all that cash when it was not really necessary. You cannot go through life burying you head and hiding away, because it catches up with you eventually as this story demonstrates, if it's true that is.

that means he does not know how to control anger because if we learns how to control an anger I don't think that he will be because of the trauma and Gamble out all his capitals or all his saves, so what makes the the young man to spend all his money is also lack of advice and the controlling of anger as I said before, when you lose someone in your family you will not be eager to do anything that involve money that much you'll be in trauma and that does not mean that you will immediately go into gambling in order to sort it out, so I believe that we are supposed to know that we need to control our anger when anything shocking happen to us so that we shall not regret after everything, I know that I've never lost anyone that is important to me but this is an example to everyone so that if there's something strong happened to the person the person can be able to control his emotions

It's so sad he had to lose over $175,000 of his entire life savings while working in Tesla company to gambling. Because I literally just read the full story on Reddit, but it never specified if was the money lost once or that was his cumulative lost ever since he started gambling. However, the most important fact is that $175,000 was lost, and it's still a very huge sum of money. And on that note, I think gambling wasn't the only reason why this user lost the $175,000. Because there are many other factors that contributed to it, such as loneliness and total dependence on gambling as his only remedy to derive joy and self worth from. Which actually cost him all his life savings. Because I'm 100% sure that if only he held associated with people after the death of his Dad and cousin, and make friends and not rely only on gambling as his only source of joy, he might have had people around to advise him after noticing him getting addicted into gambling. Because this goes far beyond just blaming the casino, because they were actually doing their best by offering quality services to the gambler. But it is the gambler who couldn't know when to take a break and stop that is to be blamed, because if he never deposited such huge amount of money into the casino, he never would have lost it. Hence the reason for the need for responsible gambling. And that people should know that gambling is never the perfect solution to loneliness.

I think it’s destructive to look at gambling as a business or a way to make money because that’s the mentality that get people hooked on chasing losses. Gambling for leisure is not a deception, it’s the best approach to gambling. Just because money is involved doesn’t mean you should spend all you have, people spend money on PlayStation plus monthly, they subscribe to Netflix, Prime, Amazon e.t.c monthly, so what’s so different about setting aside $40 to gamble in a month?

It was so unfortunate for him to face such a terrible situation. I don't know how to respond other than hoping that he doesn't end his life because life is so hard for him. He's already at the bottom, so anything can happen to him, so I hope that he can start over and rebuild his life. Because losing everything to gambling and losing those closest to him isn't the end of everything. It's true that it hurts and can feel like the world is falling apart, but it's not the end of everything. If he's optimistic again and willing to try again, he can start his life again. He is just 30 years old, still young and can get himself back on track. He may not win it back, but he can earn it back. But he is in a very bad situation. He is emotionally unstable for already having such thoughts. To me, his last sentence says he is in a critical stage. I hope he won’t do it, if you know what I mean. I truly wonder if this type of regrets will lead to any change or it will end in complete self-loathing and sympathy seeking. The person in the story blew about 200k on gambling. Did he blow it all off in one day? I don’t think so. Because that would be impossible to some degree. He can’t gamble with that much tragedy happening in his life, gambling can’t help him escape those trauma, if he has no friends then who introduced him to gambling.
Tragic loss to him but it wasn’t gambling, things were already fall apart for him and the trauma made him lose the money .
