If you are comfortable doing a particular job instead of taking the risk to try another job don't you see the need to get better at work you do, if you have to take a risk then it should be worth it but never risk losing your position where you are comfortable to risk going for something you are not sure of getting. Risk is good to those who have backups but if you can barely survive in this present economy you will not lose what you have to look for what you are not sure of getting as replacement.

The greatest risk is not taking risk. So far as life is concerned, to succeed you need to take risk. A risk free person is likely not to make it in life because he is afraid of risk. Risk is really good but it is only for those who are living a life that they can't live anymore, in terms of standards, so they need to take a risk, like moving to another country for work, starting a small business even if someone have to take loan but I hope life won't put anyone in this situation but it does not matter, life has put man in such positions so many times.

I have seen people losing their shit, and going into debts just to chase the reward and taking all that risk while knowing if they failed, they might have to work even more to pay the debts off, but still men are taking those risks. You don't just take risk anyhow just because you don't want to remain stuck in one place, you have to trust your judgment. It's not everybody that took risk that were able to make it through and there also people who took risk that can never be poor again so we should some time apply caution and carefulness when taking risk . How would you know whether you will fail or succeed if you don't try? If you have done proper research about an idea or business and you are convinced it would be profitable, take the risk. But it should be a calculated risk that will not have a fatal effect.

I have always advised people to start small so that they can handle the consequences if the business or idea fails. Take a limited risk and see the outcome before putting in more resources.

Your last line of statement said it all already, making an informed decision is the most difficult part of taking a risk.  Everyone out there can just jump on certain risk an hope they are favoured by the outcome but with time comes the question and an answer to the question of how much of information do they have to help there decision on the risk, for me, if I don't have as much information as possible, enough that I consider satisfactory, I am not risking it at all. It may turn out I didn't understand the terms of such risk enough before taking it, so before I be in the position of regret, I will rather take a step back or not proceed again.
