If I get you correctly all what you're saying is all about self discipline and control, again having a clear limits on how you spend when gambling is very important and it helps to reduce pressure and also do stop people going after losses because not all time that you will win, so once you do accept that not all time that you will win then it will be easier to set back and protect your money. You are deceiving yourself if you think that you are still not an addict if you set such limits/restrictions. Any form of gambling that is not spontaneous and occasional could be considered a level of addiction. Saying "I'll spend $100 a week/month on gambling" is just financial control that often doesn't work because few people can stop when they need to.

It is always easier said than done and may I remind you that this is not something new and a lot of folks are aware or will I say they already knew about this but yet they fail to keep it or follow it because it is not as easy as you said it. Setting or figuring out the budget to be used in gambling every week is very simple and easy to do but the problem lies in maintaining it, using that budget alone and the ability to say no to any other funds after using up the set out budget.

Yes you are right and I completely agree with you on this. Gambling by setting a budget is the smartest thing to do. If a person sets the budget through proper financial management then it will be much better. I agree with that, having some sort of budgeting on your gambling is just being cautious it is having some kind of safety net, because we all know that it has a gambling risk, winning is 50,50 it might even be lower on gambling most of the time you are just going to end up losing every bet that you are going to do, so putting some kind of safety net or limit on your funds is going to be a great move if you want to do it responsibly and with dicipline to protect your self from damaging your finances.

Me either, I believe that we have to apply common sense when we gamble. No need for some confusing strategy that everyone is calling.

if you do not set what is more like an edge that is supposed to protect you while gambling or engaging in any spending related activities, you risk flowing just by the leading of your emotion and what will happen is that you will only come back to your senses when you have gone above your limit already. part of financial management skill is that you are able to outline an amount that you can spend after a given time and the amount that you can not touch regardless what. even when you are winning, having an exit plan will save you from throwing everything into thine air after you have won so much.

Seriously setting a limit of how much you are going to spend on betting every week is one of the smartest ways for you to stay in control.  Gambling can really be dangerous when there is no limit and without limits,  people start to allow their emotions to make decisions, and that is where the real danger lies. If I set a limit for how much I can lose in a week, I will definitely stick to it no matter what.  And If I win,  that is cool but if I lose,  I will simply accept it, then wait until the next week instead of trying to win what I lost.

I think that spending should be at a certain level for a week or a month and not exceed it, because there is a certain trait in each player, after which his wallet, and therefore his daily life, will begin to deteriorate significantly. It's not just about budgeting,but also about discipline and self-control.
