Does anyone else try this approach?

Lately I really don't find gambling to be that exciting anymore, at least not as exciting as it used to be before. Prolly because I've discovered and indulged lately in other activities that entertains me more than gambling, but sometimes i still feel the urge to gamble and I'm always afraid whenever i get this urge to gamble, afraid that I might lose it since I'm not really doing it for fun lately. So what i do lately (like today) whenever i get the urge to play is deposit a particular amount, find a singlr game or two (in sports betting BTW) and stake with all the money and leave the casino with whatever outcome of the bet, if i lose, that's the end of my session for that day, i leave knowing i wasn't ucky, and if I win, i withdraw my wins immediately knowing I've made some good profits that day.

The reason for this approach is to prevent me from being sucked into the casino since I know I'm not playing for fun afterall, anything can happen. So is there anyone who also tries this approach and what do you guys think about this approach?

Your approach isn't bad at all but it all depends on the particular amount of money you stake with, if it is a high amount then taking such risks isn't worth it. i know a lot of people think that staking a huge amount on a small odds is actually safe, well maybe it is to gamblers but I don't think it is because you might end up losing all of it. if you take responsibly then there is nothing wrong with your strategy.

We don't need to pressurize ourselves all because we wanted to gamble, it is meant for us to have fun and once this is not being involved any longer, then we have to be careful of not allowing the pleasure of personal desire to affect us and lure us into something else, once we are not having the motivation to gamble, then we are not expected to force ourselves by all means, even though if we consider going for other entertainment aside gambling, we can't still have the same fun as we could have achieved when gambling and this is why many will always afford to gamble but never to go beyond their capacity, because of the risk in it.

well I don't really that when making such stakes, I think the highest I've deposited at once since i started this approach should be around $10 or maybe less, at least I won't feel it if i were to lose such an amount. and again, the games doesn't necessarily have to be a low odd, I just randomly pick the odds, sometimes the odds are bigger and sometimes they're smaller, they are just games I pick as a way of testing my skills and games I'm positive might likely fetch me the win I'm looking for.

This is one of my control measure, something I do in days there are no much games to select from. To avoid losing money due to trying to satisfy the urge to gamble, I make deposit and try singles or doubles and sometimes trios. There is nothing wrong with this approach and from experience, they can give higher win rate because the games are few therefore the probability of success increases. As long as you calmly select the best games and avoid greed, then the winning is likely to come.

If you keep doing this out of an urge and not for profit, and it's not fun anymore, then stop; it's pointless. Just kill the urge by ignoring it or doing something else, or replacing it with something fun and productive, and you will forget the urge to gamble and free yourself from the cycle.
We don't have to follow our urge just for the sake of doing it, if something is pointless, then it's not worth doing.

It's a good approach IMHO. So that whenever you lose, you're going to be out and won't be gambling that day anymore. As long as you're following that then you're good. Because there are gamblers that does the same thing but when they have lost so much, they can't stop and think of how to recover the losses. When you lose, that's already enough and you'll have to take that day off no matter what the outcome is or most likely when you've got no funds anymore which forces you to stop. It's still a matter of discipline when you do this.

I think the best part of this is that you the OP acknowledge the fact that you are not gambling for fun, and you know the reason you are gambling, this alone gives you the clarity you need as a gambler to make the best gambling decisions. The reason most gamblers often miss it is due to misplaced priorities and interest when gambling, most people don't really know why they gamble, they say they do it for fun, but when the time comes to make decisions that should prove their claim, they easily allow their emotions to help them make decisions for them, simply because they don't really know why they gamble and so they lack the clarity to know the best way to approach gambling.

This is something myself have been doing most of the time but it's not because I don't gamble for fun anymore, but more like to control myself from losing money I am not prepared to lose in the name of having fun in or with gambling.
We all know how risky gambling is and luck doesn't care whether you are playing for fun or for money, it will deal with you mercilessly when it's not on your side and you as well fail to apply self control and discipline to your gambling activities.

So yeah, it makes absolute sense for us to limit the way we gamble sometimes because personally, I've always believed that winning is not by how consistent or how much time we spend gambling, but how lucky we are, someone who is not lucky can spend the entire day on a casino and someone else who luck is on his or her side will come and win the jackpot on the same game the other gambler have been playing for several hours without winning anything.

Gambling was something I loved to do, something I derived lots of joy and entertain from, so even if I'm not that thrilled about it now as I was with it back then, I still honestly miss the feeling, especially when I stay away from gambling for too long, it's as if something just reminds me of it and I miss the experience and thus get the urge to give it a try. This is exactly what happened today, I just remembered that I havent gambled for weeks or maybe even months now and I decided to fund my account today, I tried this approach and luck actually did shine on me today lol, I did't wanna wait around to find out if the luck would continue, I immediately withdrew the winning and closed the casino tab lol.

You are not gambling for fun, it means that you are only gambling to make profit and you are scared of losing, so why not just quit? Because you are still going to losing even with this approach that you are using, I already know that the terms of gambling is that losses are inevitable, that is why I prefer to gamble with an amount that I can afford to lose. If you are not gambling for fun, then have to fetch your income from better source and not from gambling because gambling won't give you profit like a sustainable source of income and since you are already having fun in other activities, even if you quit gambling, it won't affect you.

I know leaving gambling shouldn't be an abrupt move, it should be taken slowly until you find yourself no longer attach to gambling.

However, if you really want to prevent gambling addiction, then gamble at your own risk. Bet on a small amount but never gamble randomly, because if you keep doing that, you are losing the essence of gambling, to win and enjoy the profits.

Instead, you are putting yourself still at a bigger loss in the long run. Know your game well and create good and profitable analysis.

Keep at that if that approach works for you, as far as I know gambling is about satisfactions and for that reason we need to always put in the right effort and mindset that works for us per time and not to see it as an approach since we can't repeat the same to get results in gambling, games outcome is full of uncertainty so there is no known approach.
Lastly, we have made several contributions on this topic in other threads and I don't see the need why we should continue to discuss the issue of limit control in gambling.

I am similar, but with casino games, as I try to prevent myself of re-depositing on a single gamba sesh/short periods, because my experience wasn't very good lol. I mostly play casino games, and it can rinse you real fast. I am fine rinsing my deposit because it is gambling after all, but I don't wanna overspend on my depos.

It's your money, do whatever you think will make you happy and not fall into addiction. It's a safe approach, but before you take out gambling into your system, anything that will not make us satisfied or happy with what we're doing, and we're just routinely doing it, should be discarded.
There's also the possibility that it can sucked you again because you are still into it. I prefer and recommend that you stop and only come back if you are going to enjoy it.

Funny enough, a friend of mine who is just getting acquainted with sportsbetting, showed me this approach today and I found it much more stressless as compared to picking small odds with more games than ten and staking a small amount.
He just uses a big sum for like three matches and instead of wait for last game to play at same time, he picks one that plays later, that is hours apart so as to collect the cashout if given or know if to rebet.

I have considered this approach and thinks it makes sense for an old bettor who has been encountering more losses than wins these days, because in reality, we don't get to watch all the matches and thus can't be accurate with our analysis and predictions noatter how meticulous we try to be.

If you're not gambling for fun, I suppose you're gambling for money, right? Or maybe it's an addiction? Although it doesn't seem like it's an addiction since, as you say, you can keep your bets under control. Besides, it could be that you're not enjoying it because you're not a regular gambler. Perhaps you're like me, able to go a long time without gambling, but there have been periods when I gamble more often. I think that's a healthy attitude.

This is actually the best approach if you are just trying to satisfy the urge to gamble.

I understand where you are going with that because I have felt bored a lot of the time in gambling, especially if the favorite team that I will bet for will not play for the day. I think it's just normal because there will be a point in our gambling habit when it becomes not that exciting anymore.
You are doing it right, and maybe in the future, you will totally forget about gambling while doing a casual type of betting. Then, you could just come back if you feel like you can enjoy it again. I think I have said it here in the forum many times, the gambling sites or sports bookies are not going anywhere, we do not have to rush things.

When I’m busy in real life, like really busy and away from screens most of the time, my interest in gambling drops a lot, because I don’t even have time for it.

But with my current job, I’m mostly online, so sometimes gambling is just my way of entertaining myself during breaks. No big deal for me. Whether I gamble or not, it doesn’t really matter, because I’m not addicted to it. My brain doesn’t treat it like daily food or something I need.

For those who really have serious gambling problems, I think it helps a lot to keep yourself busy with other things.
