Is there really peace in River State politics?

Is unfortunate that River State people have suffered in the hands of this greedy politicians.
There is a common saying that says when two Elephant fights,the ground suffers..
A state where Governor can not appoint not even a security without any problems.all the LGA chairmen are all loyal to their pay master.
A state where the Governor can not reach out to the law makers. A state where a minister will threaten the Governor and yet nothing will happen... A state where even appointees will come out on social media to abuse the Governor and yet nothing will happen.
A state where state of emergency was declared for no reason.. A state where the Governor have been threatened never to come for second tenure. A state where the Governor don't have the right to appoint commissioners.



The question remains....*is there really peace in River State politics*??

Of a truth River State politics is in shambles, and is as a result of greedy policians who have refused to allow the present Governor Fubara to take full responsibility of the state even when they have ruled and gone.
The political clash in Rivers State is majorly between the former governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike and Siminalayi Fubara, and the kind of pressure and troubles that the former governor, Nyesom Wike is given to this present Rivers State government is what I have seen from any past governor do to their successor and is really very uncalled for.

Rivers State people should count themselves lucky that Gov Sim is a peaceful person else there would've been chaos in the state by now.

It is because sim is a quiet person that is why wike is still troubling the state. If rotimi amaechi or dr Peter odili was the governor I don't think wike would even try this nonsense he is doing in river state. Can Wike try this nonsense with hope uzondinma in imo state. Sim is not a trouble person but this nonsense has to end,one man can't be bigger than rivers state itself. Sim hasn't been exercising his full power against wike and his loyalist,if he had been doing so this wike madness would stop a long time ago.

You cant do anything because you don't have the power he has. Those that have small powers cant do anything because they don't want to be strip of the power. That man who is guilty of this act, has power beyond River State. Only those in the national level can bring him down or perhaps call him to order. He is a minister at the FCT.

You feel he holds a secret? Fair thinking in my opinion. I also feel, he has an agreement with the president which is why they have decided not to take action against him.

Last week i saw the news that the peace has returned to a river state because the president intervene for the third term and he asked them to fix their problem. But with the look of things it's appeared physically that peace is in the state but internally the battle still continue. Honestly I pity the people of Rivers State because for almost four years since this government came they have been suffering and no concentration from the government. All that was because of their selfish interest, because if really they have people at heart I think they will suspend all ever that is differentiating them, at least for the sake of the masses.

The fct minister is the one causing all this problem because he believe he bring the governor and he can do whatever he like, they are talking of agreement, honestly Nigeria has turned into a different thing, agreement on public matters as if it is personal property. I don't really know what is wrong with our leaders, they don't want to leave, they still want to be in power and that is the main issue of Rivers State.

Only God knows when rivers state will be in peace again, rivers state started experiencing much violence in politics mostly when the former governor Rotimi amaechi decamped from PDP to APC also the former governor Nysomwike came with his own problems.

During 2015 elections there was a serious crisis in rivers state this, two ex- governor's where the one that empowering those guys in violence acts right now wike saw himself as jagaban of rivers state, he brought sim as governor now he want to remove him just like what our president did to ambode. The luck wike has is sim fubura is cool and gentle if it's someone like some ex governor's or felix amaechi obuah wike will know his boundary right now he's the worst politician in rivers state coursing problems here and there.

The governor is the one causing the problem, he doesn't want to fight for what is right, he is showing weakness to lions, and trust me they will devour him. I will not be surprised if they don't give him second tenure because it's already looking like he doesn't fall into the political space of the President as all the resolution he made against the President is against him. Now he has been asked to nominate commissioners, and I believe half of it will come from the minister of FCT.

Turn out of things this few days depicts that both factions involved in the ongoing political chaos in Rivers state have come to a peaceful resolve, ever since the President stepped in this second time there have been few positive changes, first all the commissioners were dissolved by the governor in line with the new agreement they had, secondly the impeachment notice served the governor and deputy governor by the Rivers house of assembly have been withdrawn, this shows that both parties have been able to come to a peaceful agreement.

However, a politician will always remain a politician, anyone that trust a politician is just deceiving himself and endangering his life, if i was Wike i will sleep with only one of my eyes close, i see betrayal come 2027, the way the governor is calm and accepting this new agreement terms is highly suspicious, i am sensing fowl play, Tinubu might have advised the governor to play along with all Wike terms so that it will look like there is peace, then after Wike helps Tinubu win the presidency he will now use federal power to rig and install Fubara as governor for second tenure, this is what i suspect is going to play out. Hence, let everyone be wise. Rivers is looking peaceful this few days but i doubt it’s a lasting peace, everyone just have to be on alert because in politics anything is possible.

I see no peace in the political system of Rivers state now that they are trying to establish chaotic behaviour that will help them do what they want. As for what is happening now in  Rivers state between the present governor and wike, i know they are well structured plans of wike with a primary motive of disorganising the states peace just to gain access to resources they have already finished. On the matter on ground now, all the citizens has to avoid getting involved in there actions so they understand the consequences of there actions and think of letting go for a better state. As for peace now in Rivers state I don't think it is possible because  they are not yet ready to go

Rivers state is definitely a peaceful state, but politically it's unstable. The reason for this is because of the issue between the governor and FCT minister. The minister wants to take control of the state despite the fact that they have a sitting governor that is meant to run the affairs of the state. I think the president is not doing anything to change the situation,  maybe because of his personal interest in the state. What he should have done is to call Wike to order and warn him never to interfer in the affairs of the state,  but in one way or the other he has not been able to do that, maybe he is scared of the minister .

Rivers state is definitely a peaceful state, but politically it's unstable. The reason for this is because of the issue between the governor and FCT minister. The minister wants to take control of the state despite the fact that they have a sitting governor that is meant to run the affairs of the state. I think the president is not doing anything to change the situation,  maybe because of his personal interest in the state. What he should have done is to call Wike to order and warn him never to interfer in the affairs of the state,  but in one way or the other he has not been able to do that, maybe he is scared of the minister .

Relatively there's peace in Rivers State politics as at two weeks ago when the president called for a close door meeting between the Governor and Nyesom Wike and since that meeting was held and resolutions were made amongst them the political affairs of the state has been calmed and I could recall that after that meeting with the president, the governor dissolve his cabinet and with that action of his we believe that was part of the resolutions that were reached in Abuja with  the president, that's the second time the president has stepped into the political tussle between the Governor and Nyesom Wike so don't say that the president is quiet.

The problem we have is Nyesom Wike, that Man is too greedy for my liking he wants to be in the hems of affairs of a state that he is not governing simply because he brought the governor, he just wants to control everything and be taking some percentages from the revenue the state generates, the president needs the votes of Rivers State in the forthcoming elections so he must resolve the issues between them so they can deliver him come 2027 elections.

If we are going to compare peace in all the state we have in this country I believe River State is one of those that is very peaceful compare to some Northern states and South East state, so actually there is peace and also some insecurity problems, but however in terms of political peace there has always been problem in there leadership style because some doesn't like to leave power but the real problem comes from one place and that's the federal government because is the place that holds all the peace so until there is a maximum peace in the country every state might actually be this way.

The Rivers State government have been quite unstable lately and over the past months. There's serious collision of fight when it comes to these politicians. They're hold down and most of them are ready to make troubles just to win. You do know we lived in a country where the rule of law doesn't mean anything to rhese politicians because they commit and still manage to get away with it.

Governor Similaye Fubara have been haunted by the minister, Wike but he still manage to survive. This is to tell you that there's no atom of peace in the state.
