Asking about service announcements.

If I want to bring up a service announcement in our local board what should be done since we don’t have a service announcement here, I was thinking, what if the mod create a thread just for service announcement won’t it be more better, we keep using it until theymos approves a service board for us here, I believe every local board should have a service board because some information or service are usually restricted to a particular country.
What are your thoughts for creation of a thread for service announcement.

The main local board is the right place for service announcement threads for now, no need of creating a single thread for it for us to avoid unwanted discussions on the thread. Such thread can not make any sense at all as people can not be having discussion of many services offered by different people on the same thread.

There are few services that Nigerians are offering and they are all on the main local board. If you have any service that you want to offer, create the thread on this main local board.

Wait is there even a need to have such broad here??? if I may ask you what should be the main aim of the service announcement broad, if I may ask you are their any service the local board has done lately?

Please I feel it best you should even lock down this thread because look from my own perspective i think their is no need for such here.

The reason why I’m saying this is because there are some service or new project thread that was created on the main board and it was pushed to off topic and some was locked.
So can i bring a project here on the main board without it getting pushed to the off topic or locked, even if it concerns new crypto project.
And again it looks like those that provide loan service are free to post on the main board and those that provide health service are not free, I saw a health service thread pushed to off topic.
So for clarification we need to know the kind of service or project that can be permitted here on the main board.

The health service thread was pushed to off topic, because the moderator find it to be inappropriate. And to be frank here, offering a health Service or a specific medical advice in a forum is generally wrong and a bad idea. So i comment @igebotz, the able mod for push that health Service thread to off topic, because that is exactly where it belong.

Further more, we are all strangers here, and for a doctor or a nurse to be able to help you properly with your medical issues, the person need to know your full history, examine you, and ask follow up questions. And you offering the health Service can't do all this in the comment section. Because if the person post his or her health issues here in the forum, the person privacy is gone, because anybody can read the person medical issue in the comment section. And I know you will say what about, if they do all this things via PM or social media handle.

Buddy, offering a health Service to a total stranger can be very dangerous, especially when you didn't examine the person properly to know what is actually wrong with the person. See buddy a headache could be as a result of stress or something much worse. And a random person will just come to the comment section and say take this drugs for the headache just by reading comment, Without examining the person to know the cause of the headache.

And as @Charles -Tim has already Stated earlier, you can post your service in the main board, provided it will be helpful to the community. But if it is a health Service or something related to that please don't post, because they are inappropriate. And as for the loan service threads, they are left on the main board on touch because, they are helpful to the community.

The main section compromises of all.. I believe we are yet to include other sub boards because we had less attention and less post in regard so service. Just as few other people has already posted you can post yours over there provided it’s something that relates with the community dreams in regard to digitalisation.

How you sef see the health service? Dat kind discussion no supposed dey the main board nah, e belong to off-topic. BTT nah crypto forum, for your service to dey on the main board, e supposed dey crypto related. I know say we get a naira loan service, wey no be crypto related. That one naim be the exception and e deserve to be on the main board. So if you get similar service like that wey awa LB really need, you fit reach out to mod. Let am know the kind service, so him go tell you where to post.

How many people sef wey dey offer service for the local board wey go make us to request for service announcement board. If na to bring the ones wey dem dey run for general board to our local board, you fit run that one for a separate thread so far as you go dey update am from time to time. We get other tins wey dey important to get for the local board but having a service announcement board should be the least of them. Everything should be posted on the main board, if e dey important too much make moderator pin am for the top of the main board for visibility.

OP your idea is not bad, but for high visibility, I will advise that you make use of the service announcement board for yout service if it's not limited to only Nigerians alone, but if it was only intended on the Naija folks, then you can as well present it to the main board here on the local board, considering that this have to do with Bitcoin service or any other crypto related offers that might interest the members, however, there are other services available on the local board as well, the loan service, exchange, escrow and so on, which I see as a good idea for you to also cheap in yours among others already available.

 If Theymos been want us to get our own services board, eh for make provisions for am, regardless of how we done grow dem never even bring up that matter because  our main board dey indirectly serve that purpose. Infact if you observe our main board you go see say people dey already render their services with am, for instance the Floxynice loan service etc.

 I no really see any need to create special thread for services and even though you wan make am self moderated, eh go still lead to spamming, but if you still wan go ahead, just know say space still plenty for off topic and out moderate no dey tire to do em job.

A good development that will be highly accepted by the members of our local board. However, there is a time and a season for everything. Right now, the main board serves the purpose of a service announcement. My reason is that, currently, we have only a few services, which are mainly loan services in the local board. When the main board becomes populated with services, that interesting topic starts being buried, then we can reqruest for a separate service board.

Except the thread is going to be pinned on the main board, it will not be too effective creating a single thread for service announcement considering that there are fewer service that are local board specific. The easiest way to go about this is to create a thread for your service and bump it regularly to bring it up for people to see. there are services like loan services that runs on the local board that has been effective that way, you might want to give it a short that way.

But if it is something that others that are not of the local board can also benefit from, the service board is definitely a good place to make such thread. if the service you are bringing to the forum is good enough, it will stand out even if you post it in the local board on the general service board. it is only an issue if it is a service that is questionable to an extent.
