The rate at which scams and hacks are increasing is now a thing of concern in the community. I thought of sharing this information with my Naija community for a better information dissemination. As they say, information is powerful; it helps one be updated with happenings around or within their surroundings. However, as the topic of this thread says, I had to share these updates on the bank sms alert hack, which is going on currently, but not as popular as it seems to be a new hack pattern used by hackers.
Here's the trick: they would send you sms alert message of an amount to your account, and immediately, when you unlock your phone with your password or fingerprint to access your account, they drain your account with nothing left inside your account. This has made me wonder how they were able to come up with such a sophisticated hack pattern that you would never understand how they do it, and you can never tell what happened to your account, but you just received an alert, and all of a sudden, your account is empty.
Here's what to do if you receive such an alert. If you receive any alert of that nature, at first, do not rush to open your account or phone with the password because that seems to be a programmed alert that triggers other actions immediately you open your app, but what you need to do whenever you receive such an alert is that you do not input your correct phone password immediately, input the wrong phone password like twice to deactivate the scammers programmed malware sent to you through bank alert before you input the real phone password, and by so doing, you are safe.
This post is not to scare anybody, but to draw to our consciousness what is happening currently, and for the community to know and be on alert. You can also hear victims of such occurrences here:
