4 years thing is still a "thing", people will claim that it is not, it happens every time. Whenever we are in the bull year, there will come out some people who will say that it will go down, and whenever we are in the bear period there will come out and some people will say it will be a lot higher.

None of that will happen, but we can expect the unexpected things to happen which must the beauty of market. This cycle is so far different like a new ATH happened earlier than previous cycles hence bottom also may get tested earlier.

Telling me to hold for 10years or more is like holding for infinite, I am not even sure that I will be here in the next 10 years which is why I like taking profits and using that profit for myself then plan for the next 4 years again, since it's still a thing.

Is 4 years not long in your opinion? for me it's long, the count of one cycle is enough to benefit from investing in bitcoin, we don't need to wait 100 years to say long, my age is not enough to take advantage.
You know the 4-year cycle that always prints ATH for bitcoin is right, at least one cycle to invest in and benefit from bitcoin, don't think too much if you want to do that, unless you want to prepare and retire for your old age, saving longer is not a problem, this depends on how your vision is in investing in bitcoin, all decisions are yours.

4 years is a long time and the strategy you propose isn’t exactly a bad one if executed properly and to the way it is imagined. Taking profit when it peaks or is at its ATH and buy when it dips, it’s the oldest strategy in the book but its execution has always proven to be the most difficult of task. This is the very reason why, people rather hold than entertain the idea of selling with hopes to buy again.

No one can say for sure that every 4 years there is a cycle, but this cycle is a much bigger ATH than the first one. And that is why there is a bigger profit for holding for a long time. Since the Bitcoin market is currently in a downtrend, now is the opportunity to buy Bitcoin to stay ahead of others in the next cycle, because a bear market is the perfect time to accumulate more Bitcoin.

Everybody will choose the best approach that works for them. OP believes that selling his Bitcoin during the bull market and rebuying during the bear market will be more profitable.  Sometimes you might sell and fail to buy back as planned. This set of people wants to take profit and reinvest their initial investment in Bitcoin. I also sold part of my coin this season because I needed to use the gain to invest in another area.

I think OP is basing from the past cycles that Bitcoin had, which is common.
But for me, everything has already changed, so for me, there are already a lot of factors that will drive Bitcoin price upward or downwards, and at a different time, it will not be the same as before.
So, for me, this is the difficult question to answer or topic to discuss.
As you can see, when it comes to cycles, you will also see a lot of speculations anywhere; some already invented their own cycles.

To each his own. Bitcoin is not a cult where everybody has to sell or hold at the same time. However, if the early adopters of Bitcoin planned for only the 4 year cycle, do you think they would have become rich with Bitcoin?
Bitcoin is very difficult to predict; the lowest point of the next cycle may not be as low as you expect, so you might barely make x2 of your investment in the next cycle.

You don't have to sell all your Bitcoin every cycle and start again from the beginning in the next cycle. That is like taking one step forward and two steps backwards. Nobody is stopping you from taking profit, but selling all and starting over by planning for the next four-year cycle won't do you much good.

4 year cycle is significant because of halving, but the halving hype is fading away. We do not really see that big of a difference when we approach halving. After the halving, yes there is some market fluctuations but still we can't just rely on the halving even to make profits. We can never be sure that a bull run will arrive in 4 years and that is the reason why people mostly prefer holding for a very longer duration.

To be real, even 4 years is a long duration and if you are ready to hold to 4 years, you should definitely see some profits coming along. You just need to be patient and do not expect much from the market. Anything can happen in shorter duration. If you invest for intervals like 10 years, you are bound to have sure shot profits and that is why people prefer educating others to hold for 5 or 10 years just to be on a safer side. It is not always mandatory as you can close your positions way before that if you see profits coming along.

If you are making a profit and are happy with that, then there is nothing wrong with it.

Regarding how long to hold BTC, when to take profits and when to buy back...there is no universal formula for everyone. Each person has different circumstances, financial capabilities, risk tolerance levels, and goals. No two people are alike, so we do not need to impose our thoughts on others or imitate them. Choose the plan and strategy that suits you best.

Many times many investors think differently, they sell their Bitcoin holdings during the bull market and move to another sector until the market uptrend comes again. Because Bear market is a slow and painful time, they keep an eye on the market to rebuy. In fact, selling at the top of the market is not easy, many people do not understand when to sell, as a result of which many people sell at the wrong time before the market reaches the top so that they miss the opportunity for big profits. Investors need to understand the market, so that they can take the most of the opportunity.

Not wrong with your mindset about believing of the four years cycle of bitcoin possibility reach to the higher price, nowadays bitcoin easily raise up without waiting the four year cycle moment and you can invest during have lower price and not really needed waiting four years later or halving moment to sell bitcoin. In my opinion, investing in bitcoin better using DCA method than waiting the four year cycle moment although many people still have mindset about its great opportunity to buy bitcoin and selling four years later before halving arrival.

I am one of the firm believers of the 4 year cycle, and this is my description to my friends why they have to invest on Bitcoin. And even right now, I'm continuing to DCA because of the next cycle that we're going. It's not going to take longer and since just as we're done with the bull run, and this year we're to tackle the bear market. 2-3 years from now, we're back in the bull run again. That's why the cycle is still a thing, people might say that its narrative have changed but we've just proven its point that last year was the bull run and that's part of the 4 year cycle.
