In very simple words, Bitcoin is something like the cryptographically backed electronic form of IOU promise stored in the blockchain, which is distributed database ideally synchronized across millions ^{if not billions} of devices.

But I have to ask you why are you nervous?

Once I heard the wonderful song ^{I don’t remember its titlle} that said “all learners travel so hard.” I agree with this, but I must add that their efforts will eventually pay off.

You're mixing things together. Knowledge is one step at a time, not by eagerness.

As a beginner, you need to know about Bitcoin first before making advanced steps to know about the technical aspects of it.

OP I believe satscrapper has already made you understand what bitcoin is all about so I won't explain that again. Gaining technical background in bitcoin means you need to put alot of effort consuming technical contents about bitcoin. Although I am still in the learning phase as well but this are the little technique I use to improve daily:
First, I visit the technical discussion board regularly, not to write but to read inputs by experienced users, it helps me alot. Apart from this, I also read Mastering Bitcoin by Andreas Antonopoulos and l visit this site, learnmeabitcoin.com to read and improve my technical knowledge.

The journey is not always smooth but as you know good things don't come easily, less I forget, there is a site I also find interesting to download and read for free: oceanofpdf.com you can find so many interesting bitcoin related books there. The books in this screenshot and many more a available for you to read and understand and should incase you encounter any difficulties you can always create a thread to get answers to your queries.

It is like the digital fiat if there is in your country where you can send and receive but in this case is that it is crypto like Bitcoin. Bitcoin uses proof of work where it uses cryptographic puzzle that miners solves to validate transactions that will be added to blocks that are mined. I will be very honest with you if you want to learn about bitcoin since you have no idea at all what you should do is to go online or visit YouTube and get some information there. I believe you will learn a lot of things over there then after learning and you are still confuse in some certain areas, then you can come here and ask questions concerning those areas you don’t really understand then people here we explain to you very well.

Why nervous? You aren't going to invest in a Ponzi scheme where you have to be nervous at all. You have to learn day by day about Bitcoin and the wallet system. If I write all together or quote all the technical answers, then it will be hard to understand for you. Just be relaxed; you are in the right place if you really want to learn about Bitcoin and the wallet system.

If you're new to the space, you should seek to learn from the basics first before then as you get more exposed in the space then you can explore.
Technicalities in bitcoin can't be easily grasp by beginners who barely know how to navigate the crypto wallet with the essence of safely storing, buying and selling of bitcoin. In fact, the technicality is of the professional level meaning it's not biginer friendly with those who have no basic clue of bitcoin in an onset except for the fact that it's digital money according to speculation.

Firstly you have to make sure you have the understand that bitcoin is a digital money that is been controlled by the government, the technological aspect it's works with what is call the Blockchain and with it people can send or do transactions directly from one person to another without going to the bank.

If you want to know about it you have learn the basics like how does the wallet works, how can bitcoin be kept safe and the last one how  buying and selling do occur or happen. Getting interested on technical side of bitcoin means you need to understand its core. Start with having a full node of bitcoin, NotATether have that challenge here, it's a great opportunity to help strengthening bitcoin network security for running a full node. Consider having an external hard drive for bigger storage requirements, from that you can create your electrum server, and lightning server. Steps? They are all in the internet since these are all community contributions. From running its full node you will learn more on how to manage bitcoin on those wallets (bitcoin core and electrum).

If you mean by sell is trading. That's a different story, it needs luck, skills and experience, it cannot be taught by just simple step 1,2,3 especially when it comes to earning.
