No much hard feelings over this post as I would want someone to help check out my post to know how quality they could be (you can do that at your spare time).. I know that most of my post are being made from gambling section so it will send be a bit difficult for those who doesn't post on that section to know how quality a post could be. So, most people hardly earn merits from that section.  Have been spending much but checking out my records to know that I am very much lower considering to my spending. However before I will forget, I would want to also Plead with theymos if I can get little more increase as my supply doesn't serve me any longer, this can also help me to spread out to other sections of the forum.

The gambling board has it's own merit source I think it's about two though I'm not so sure. I've earned merit a few times there and it all depends on a post that stands out from other repetitive loads of write up. No one really considers the gambling board that much because of the kind of posts there.

If you are not earning merits at all from the gambling board then there's a chance that your post doesn't stand out plus no one reads posts on gambling board from page one to infinity.

Seriously i see that most of your concern is actually about the lack of merit you received as you are simply pairing it with your post quality and thinks probably your post quality has fallen off. Looking at your post history I can see the see that over 35% (1500 out of 4023) of your post are in gambling board and coming up next are those in sub boards in economic board like trading discussion and economics if I add this up it will be given over 50% of your posts there.

I am not going to say everyone that post on this boards are actually spammers but sincerely it is actually add to actually pick out most quality posts from that board with bunch of spamming post there and as such they are both boards where merit is lacking because merit sources and other members hardly give out merit there (your also a merit source but hardly send out there)

It is actually hard most people to actually check out your post quality from this boards (most especially gambling), the last merit source that did that was as The Sceptical Chymist who also got tired. So if you’re trying to measure your post quality with merit ratio then those boards you post are your got to, to get answers.

You can look up at other co merit sources like you and check where there Chuck of merit comes from, then you will see what exactly I am talking about.

Your post quality might be just OK but you can get merit in ratio to what you send out (which are predominantly airdropped smerits) from those boards.

Personally I think it’s a matter of cognitive thinking and am sure from your personal assessment you must have already known that your post quality is not good enough in the recent times. Your instinct are not wrong because of course you lacking merit in terms of earning merit not source merit I guess that implies that your post quality is low since most time we measure post quality from merit and content of your post. Furthermore, the gambling board is filled with same thing over and over so even the merit source over there will even be irritated with what they read in the gambling board.

The idea of quality post is subjective which is why there is no straight answer to that. As you know, what might be regarded as quality post for user A might be shit post for user B given that we are from different countries, some from where English is not their native language so they had to learn it. That being said,  I think the information conveyed in a post is what is paramount and not necessarily the vocabulary used. In other words, if your comment is relevant to the topic of discussion and convey helpful information, that to me means quality post.

On the aspect of your merit allocation, that is up to Theymos to decide because I rarely know the parameters he use to know who deserve and increase of allocation. In my opinion,  since you are still a new merit source, just continue using your allocation wisely so you will be able to merit the most deserving posts in chronological order as pressuring Theymos for an increase might be misconceived as ingratitude.

Sincerely speaking I noticed those who are active on the gambling section not to receive enough Merits since they are being characterized as people who are spamming, and even as that I can still assure you that there are quality post that still needs to be merited.
I have took my time to study those that post at the gambling section, there Merits counts and scores are usually low, except for those that post on technical section.

looking at your rank.. you're suppose to know when you're writing a quality post and when your posts are not quality...Asking someone to help and check your profile to know if you're a quality poster, is not really ideal, for your rank...

Gambling posting doesn't take off quality from a poster...but due to people feel like to replies anything they feel like to meet up their weekly quota, that doesn't mean that gambling posts doesn't demands quality..They're some many quality gambling posters..
 
Note: that not everyone who evaluate your post will give you good mark...because they're people who will read your post and they will found a zero quality, and they're people who will read your post and found out qualities...And it’s based on individual differences of understanding.

Wouldn’t that be him picking out is best post here for members to analyze. Would those few post actually be enough to justify his posting quality. I understand you perfectly that you want her to help narrow down the work that anyone who will help with post quality check will do but still that will be a bad way of actually trying to figure out if your posts are below quality because he might be selecting those ones which has better quality for review and what’s the need for that. Anyone genuine checking will have to go randomly and pick it them self to see and then compare the overall posts they think has quality to the ratio of those they think fell off.

This is a huge work most especially since it’s actually containing boards which you actually can easily point out quality easily or Board which is stereotyped to be for spammers

You’re a merit source and you knew exactly what’s the problem since you are the one giving merit.

Most of the user posting on the gambling board doesn’t have merit while active merit source in there only give merit on the thread he is active which is the football thread and other sports thread.

You should start distributing merit in there if you want to create a merit cycle to all active users in there rather than focusing only on user that belongs to your same country that cycling merit too on their merit buddy.

Totally agree on this, Merit source has a complete biased based on their country, preferences and active board. It’s like gate keeping who will rank up that’s why many merit whore can easily rank up by abusing this merit source through targeting post while organic user that posting only on their comfortable topic stuck.

You’re lucky in the forum if you have a close friend merit source or you have a good knowledge on Bitcoin technical. Even a one liner troll post can get a merit.

Honestly I stoped profile reviews, it's a lot of work going through hundreds of posts looking for merit worthy posts - it'd be more convenient if you could list out some of your undermerited/ non-merited post links to the OP to help save us time.

There are at least two active threads where you can link to posts that you think deserve merits, although I've never really liked that idea because it somehow awards merits in an unusual way. And as for wanting even more sMerits as a merit source, I think you should be lucky to get any at all - because some of us who are not merit sources have to earn every sMerit ourselves.

One thing about sharing post over here is that only you can actually know the post that you think is worthy enough to be reviewed. What I meant in essence is that; everyone knows how to classify post that are worthy in their own way so, if I send you may actually thinking they are not worthy enough for you.

Well, talking about the next person which is @The Skeptical Chymist, it wouldn't be a big deal for him to respond here or even review it without me sending him pm since we are already mentioning his name, I believe he would get notified for this post. Maybe, before I could send out pm to anyone let it be in their agreement or approval that I should sent pm to them regarding this because I wouldn't want him to start seeing my pm as an unsolicited pm. About my spending, I do spend a lot and I see lots of post that are worthy enough to be merited. So, increasing my source wouldn't be a bad idea as I believe it's very easier to spend it even before the month ends.

As a staff member, can you influence Theymos to change the smerit distribution?  We shouldn't have to promote meritable content - it should be recognized naturally.   I merit posts in PD without being a source, but most users won't receive the smerit I do.  They should, since merit is subject to individual opinion and not the administrators alone.
