Okay, I saw too much drama on the way from first to third page and honestly haven't understood what's actually going on; I've certainly missed a few episodes, so I'm just going to stick with the main subject of the thread. First of all, I agree with what every single thing nutildah, lovemayfamilis and crwth have already said. This looks like an attempt to gain so-called "roles" or "ranks" to feel important. I also don't recall myself seeing the OP reporting anyone in the AI report thread, correct me if I'm mistaken, but either you don't, or you're certainly not active in doing that. Most importantly, the community certainly isn't divided, that's all in your head, while just by looking at the OP's replies in this topic, they look AI generated, which is kind of ironic.
LOL, talks negativly about “drama,” proceeds to join it, then says, “I’m going to stick with the main subject.” Then proceeds to go off the rails… Ignoring facts in the poll located in the main text, which strongly indicates AI division. I clearly stated my reasoning, yet assumes his “own” by following/applying others. Accuses me of AI-generating responses in this thread, says it's “kind of ironic”. 🤦♂️
I don’t think the division is made up. To think there is no division is delulu. To be frank, I’m sorry to put this bluntly, you sound like an alt or a kiss-asser. To each their own. 🤷♂️
It’s okay to disagree with the Mini-Mod idea. To be clear, it is a community-based approach/project/idea. I thought it would be advantageous for everyone. To demean this topic and to claim it was to create “so-called ‘roles’ or ‘ranks’ to feel important” is extremely disingenuous. To stretch it further, I’d consider that sentiment to be an insult to the community. Like, what’s wrong with some initiative and a community-based approach?
To say that there isn’t division regarding AI or how to address related issues at hand is just shortsighted.
The AI spam thread you speak of, I visit it frequently. The Mini-Mod idea would have simply been an expansion of that thread and community service. It's a layer. Not a total solution.
Those that actually contributed to this discussion are few. I have been inclined to agree with those few. Their responses were original, genuine and very appreciated. Far from the sore knees some have. I wish you added substance instead of basically copying and pasting other members’ remarks.
How did any of that which you reiterated truly further this topic?
I guess nothing added, nothing lost. Thanks for keeping it at the top.
I start to take offense when users do more than disagree or criticize and wish to take it a step past that. Many members really didn’t address this topic. Most just criticized; fewer came in with ideas and solutions. I encourage poking holes in ideas and then patching them with solutions. I think criticizing is great if you don’t make it personal. That’s the DT1 behavior I am against: making things far too personal. Responding to a topic enough to insult other members is not contributing. It festers into a popularity contest. It’s not great. I fire back when it starts to get personal to prove a point. Guilty of that. It seems many here don’t want to help. They want to walk on people. Whereas, some are just like, “What/how about this?”… leading to higher-minded things through contributing something vs. throwing insinuations based on opinions or blanket statements.
