BitcoinBT (BTCBT) – Bitcoin Hard Fork | Global Public Test Phase
Hello Bitcoin community,
We are opening a
global public testing phase for
BitcoinBT (BTCBT).
BitcoinBT is a
Bitcoin hard fork built on the Bitcoin Core v26 codebase.
This project is independent and is not affiliated with the Bitcoin Core development team.
This announcement is published strictly for technical validation purposes.
There is
no investment solicitation, no airdrop, and no guarantees.
------------------------------------------------------------
What is BitcoinBT?BitcoinBT is a direct Bitcoin hard fork that inherits the Bitcoin blockchain
up to a defined fork height and applies modified consensus rules thereafter.
• Fork point: Bitcoin block height
903,844 • BitcoinBT activation:
903,845 • Proof-of-Work:
SHA-256d • Difficulty algorithm:
ASERT • Block interval:
5 minutes • Genesis block:
Bitcoin genesis block (inherited)All Bitcoin block history prior to the fork height is preserved.
Only blocks generated after activation follow BitcoinBT rules.
BitcoinBT operates as an independent network and does not share balances with Bitcoin.
BTC holders do not automatically receive BTCBT.
------------------------------------------------------------
Network StatusA previously identified ASERT difficulty adjustment inconsistency
has been corrected and verified.
The network is now operating under intended consensus rules,
with difficulty retargeting functioning normally.
------------------------------------------------------------
Purpose of This TestThis public test phase focuses on real-world protocol validation:
• Full node operation and chain synchronization
• Block validation and consensus behavior
• SHA-256d mining compatibility
• ASERT difficulty responsiveness
• Wallet creation and transaction handling
• Stability across different regions and environments
Running a node, mining, monitoring synchronization,
or reviewing code are all valid contributions.
------------------------------------------------------------
Testnet Launch ScheduleThe public testnet will officially begin on February 28 at 12:00 PM (UTC).
