This might be off-topic, but for those who are curious, it looks like Floyd Mayweather might have 2 matches before his fight with Pacquiao. From what I've seen, he is going to have an exhibition match against a retired Greek kickboxer Mike Zambidis, in June, and then he was supposed to fight Mike Tyson in April, but it was postponed, they still haven't announced the new date yet, but it was said that it could happen in May.

I assumed the Mike Tyson stuff was fake or never going to happen. I hoped at least for Tyson’s sake. He is too old to fight. Jake Paul proved that. I didn’t know about his fight with a kickboxer before that, but I am now. It’s probably not a bad thing for him to stay in shape. I have a feeling he is going to show up in much better shape than Pacquiao.

People also assumed that when the Pacquiao match was announced, they thought the Mike Tyson fight would be cancelled, but apparently, Mayweather is contractually obligated to fight Mike Tyson, their fight already in the works since last year. As for the kick boxer, I also just found out about it earlier. I guess there wasn't much hype about it, and it wasn't really talked about.

Sad news for Manny Pacquiao and the Filipino boxing community as well,
~snip~
Manny's long time assistant trainer, suffered a heart attack.
For sure this will impact Manny mentally for the passing of his beloved assistant trainer. And as far as I know, coach Bebot has developed a lot of good Filipino boxers too. Hopefully, it will make Manny more inspired to beat Floyd.
To be honest, i have not known coach Bebot but for sure this will affect Manny Pacquiao mentally for a while but i think this will be handled seriously, i mean Manny could cope up with the loss of his trainer. Manny is always inspired of beating Floyd Mayweather and i think this incident will put fuel on the fire and this could be one of the inspiration of Manny going into the fight with Mayweather.

And compared to Mayweather, Tyson has been quite active recently. The fight against Jake Paul was a disaster for him, but at the same time it earned him around $20 million (Paul made almost double that amount).

This will certainly have an effect on Pacman very much similar to the effect of the death of Mickey on Rocky Balboa in the movie Rocky 3! I very much speculate that Pacman will be stronger because of this personal loss! However, will this strength given to Pacman be enough to win against Floyd Gayweather's prefight negotiations in the contract of the fight? On this we cannot be certain.

And here we are again, as the CONDITIONS to set. FLOYD will always be FLOYD! Selected reported conditions for the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Manny Pacquiao rematch that are said to favor Mayweather: - Higher agreed weight limit closer to Mayweather’s comfort range - Larger ring size to benefit movement and defensive footwork - Catchweight rehydration clause on fight day - Modified glove selection agreed upon by Mayweather’s camp - Financial split reportedly structured in Mayweather’s favor - Same day weigh in to limit rehydration advantage - Referee selection approved by Mayweather’s camp - Approved glove brand historically used by Mayweather - Marketing control shared but event branding centered on Mayweather - Revenue distribution structured around Mayweather as A side - Judges selection reportedly influenced or approved by Mayweather’s camp While Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao requested, his condition is: - Choice of signer for Philippines National anthem It's seem like most of the conditions are in Mayweather's favour but that probably because the entire marketing of the match is based on Mayweather's willingness to be a part of it, he has more or less been elusive for some time now plus netflix want to get a lot out of this so it's best to market who is more likely to bring the money in and Manny probably isn't all that affected by these supposed conditions, he is a fighter and probably doesn't see as much disadvantage in these conditions as we are claiming them to be.

Manny is always inspired of beating Floyd Mayweather and i think this incident will put fuel on the fire and this could be one of the inspiration of Manny going into the fight with Mayweather. I tried to research about the position of Bebot on Pacquaio's camp and it shows that he's just close on his inner circle then just part of his entourage. His head trainer is Freddie Roach and his long time assistant trainer is Buboy Fernandez. But sure it can affect the fight of Pacquaio, since this situation happen to his long time friend will add up some fuel to try more harder and win against Mayweather. For sure all of them want this to happen and this is big achievement for their camp if they can successfully defeat their long time rival.

I DO NOT want to see them fight. It will only make Floyd look better. I would love to see 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather fight. They have actual real beef, 50 Cent is in shape, and the age difference along with the size difference would make it a legitimately interesting fight given that Floyd is obviously more skilled in the ring. That's the only gimmick fight I'd like to see at the moment.

Lol, 50 Cent isn't and was never a professional boxer, it would be foolish of him to ever get in the ring with a decorated boxer like Floyd Mayweather. I reckon Floyd would "kill" him in the ring, irrespective of the size difference. If it was against a retired professional boxer, then the size would definitely come into play. I understand this is just hypothetical and this kind of fight would never happen, but do you actually believe 50 Cent would stand a chance against Floyd in a "real" boxing match?

But since the one that died is the assistant trainer and I would assumed that Buboy is the main trainer best friend of Manny. And Manny is surrounded by his entourage and we don't know their names but only faces when we see them with Manny. Nevertheless, when a team losses one of their people it's really hard to fathom what there feeling us specially on how Bebot die and Manny has a incoming fight.

50 Cent would look really bad, like every non-boxer who participates in these types of exhibitions, but I doubt that Floyd is killing anybody with his pillow fists. Floyd couldn’t even hurt John Gotti III in his last exhibition. He still looks good enough to win boring decisions, but whatever power he had is mostly gone.

Yeah, that fight could be fun while it lasted, 50 cent is not a boxing though, so he doesn't have the skills to beat Floyd, but they can make a lot of money as we all know that they used to be best of friends but now they have a ongoing beef. Going back to the fight here, if Floyd can't hurt John Gotti, then for sure he won't put a dent on Manny unless he hit him with a Hail Mary shot. On the other hand, Manny could still have that power and might have a chance to score a knockdown if not a knockout in this fight. But it seems the majority are relying that the only way that this fight will end was in a judges decision.

I don't know the coach Valendez you're referring to; he's probably not the same guy as Manny Pacquiao, and it seems like the source you got from Facebook is fake news, because I can't find any news that Pacquiao's coach/trainer died. I tried to find out from the news on YouTube, Google, and others, and I can't find any name, Valendez, as Paquiao's coach or trainer, but the only one that comes up is Penalosa, who died last year, 2025, from a heart attack. That's why I'm doubtful about that.

Mike Tyson was unbeatable during his peak years. No one dominated the boxing ring like he did, before him or after him. Until the fight against Buster Douglas in 1990 (which ended up as an upset win for Douglas) no one could even get a fair chance against Tyson. Almost all the fights ended up in KOs. That ended when Evander Holyfield defeated him in two consecutive fights (1996 and 1997). For almost a decade Tyson was the undisputed king of boxing, but I don't know how much the younger generation knows about that. I am really sad to see him in this state. Hopefully the fight against Mayweather will be rescheduled for sometime later and Tyson will be able to win that match.

I believe less in Mike vs Floyd fight to happen than Floyd vs Pacman. Come one, today Mike is no longer a challenge for any professional boxer with skills like Floyd. He is almost 60. Before fight against Jake Paul that was 1.5 years ago, Tyson already had number of health problems. Even though it was exhibition professional fight, it was difficult for Mike. And now he is jumping against a real professional boxer, who used to be one of the best. It is not like there are zero chance, chances are negative.

Probably the last opportunities to watch them in live action. Manny Pacquiao was in action last time in July 2025, when he faced Mario Barrios. The fight ended in a draw, although one of the judges scored it as a win for Barrios. He is returning to the ring in less than one year. But for Floyd Mayweather, the last time we saw him in action was a while ago. His last professional match was in 2017, against Conor McGregor. After that he took part in more than half a dozen exhibition fights, and the last one was in 2024 when he fought against John Gotti III at the Mexico City Arena. I would say what Manny had was exhibition as well no matter how much "official" it was considered. Also I would like to point out this isn't an "official" match neither, sure maybe that is the case officially, I do not know, but this is just a scripted fake boxing between two old fighters and nothing to gain from this. Do not expect the type of fights we see from title fighters or anything like that, it will not be the case and we are going to see a boring case of two old geezers who is only out there to make some money.

But sure it can affect the fight of Pacquaio, since this situation happen to his long time friend will add up some fuel to try more harder and win against Mayweather. For sure all of them want this to happen and this is big achievement for their camp if they can successfully defeat their long time rival.
This was the first thing that came to my mind after learning that one of the important pieces on Pacquiao's camp had passed away. Yeah, it will surely have an emotional effect on his upcoming fight, but it's more likely an effect that could fuel his will to win this fight. Especially that he's fighting his most interesting rival. With this incident, the Pacman team will surely honor this fight in memory of their late assistant trainer. -
I don't know the coach Valendez you're referring to; he's probably not the same guy as Manny Pacquiao, and it seems like the source you got from Facebook is fake news, because I can't find any news that Pacquiao's coach/trainer died. I tried to find out from the news on YouTube, Google, and others, and I can't find any name, Valendez, as Paquiao's coach or trainer, but the only one that comes up is Penalosa, who died last year, 2025, from a heart attack. That's why I'm doubtful about that. I believe no news article is published on the internet, but several people who are in the boxing scene in the PH have confirmed it.

He is not well known to boxing fans because he really works with boxers unlike the most famous trainer of Manny which is Buboy (who I have the chance to meet before). But in any case coach Bebot is also very instrumental on Manny's development and even if Manny had retired in boxing, he still works for him. And some of the boxers under MP, so it's really very hard for them to suddenly lose Buboy in this circumstances as he is working with Manny in preparation for the Floyd Mayweather fight. @gunhell16 - it's no fake news mate. Maybe you are not just familiar with his name.
