IDK whether it's gimmick to attract the hype or he's not sure can win against Manny for second times. It gives me impression if Mayweather ain't serious for this game, and he looks like treat this game as an exhibition.
So i'm wondering you guys opinion does anyone genuinely think it will happen?

Same here, i thought that this would be a professional fight as first announced. IMO, there is no sense of actually making this fight happens if indeed this would be an exhibition fight only as i think this would not generate money. I think the reason why Floyd Mayweather backed out of this fight, maybe he could get the amount which is suitable to pay his debt when he fight Mike Tyson in the coming months in an exhibition fight again. For Floyd there is no sense of risking his record against the Pacman if he already got the money needed to settle his monetary obligation.

Just to add on this one, when was the last time that Mayweather fought in the ring? I can't remember it TBH compared to Pacquiao who just fought a title holder in Barrios and yes he's just Barrios maybe for some, but he showed there that he can still fight 12 rounds despite of his old age. For Mayweather, he might not be able to last 12 rounds especially if his body isn't fit to fight, and that might be the reason why his "PRECIOUS" record will be tarnished.

Exhibition fight between those two legends is lame. If they (Floyd in particular) wants many millions, then he should agree only for professional fight. Nobody pay so much for exhibition fight except Asians and Sheikhs. People wish to see him losing his 0 in 50-0 record. People are ready to pay for that and hope he would lose. Nobody is ready to pay for 1 in loss in exhibition record.

Floyd and Pacman should ask Jake Paul for help if they want big paychecks, but dont want to put much effort in fight. Jake is able to boost interest and payment for their fight.

Exactly, Floyd has been protected that unbeaten record in his professional career. Up to this day, he doesn't want to have his 0 taken away specially if it will be Manny Pacquaio, his nemesis. That is the only reason I see why he would suddenly doesn't want this to be a professional fight. But not sure if everything has been settled down or the contract has been sign. Because if it is, then he has no reasons to back down from that sign contract. Unless everything up to this point is just verbal between the two. That they just agree in words and nothing is final yet, including the purse split and what kind of ring is going to use or the how heavy or what kind of gloves.

In that case, if the contract has already been signed, then he can actually sue Mayweather for that.
I’m not sure if there’s already a case based on the announcement his camp made, but backing out after that would definitely be a big issue.

You mean both of this fighters are not going to generate the money from fighting other boxers? Yeah, I do agree, they still have the fans specially Manny that can bring fans to watch them in any arena around the world.

But who knows, this could be a let down for most fans as they wanted to watch a pro-fight between the two. And even if they are way past their primes, still there are a lot of what if that we wanted to see and settled in the boxing ring.

I mean, it isn't uncommon for boxers to create drama to hype up or bring more attention to their upcoming fight. We've seen a lot of those happen in the boxing industry. Also, if the contract is real, and Mayeather doesn't want to commit to it, he'll breach the contract, and he will most likely be fined for it.
